  1. I have a food intolerance to cinnamon, but the hope is that as my body calms down and my digestion improves that it won't be a problem anymore. I have got some other foods back, but since spices are so small, they are not my first priority to get back in.
  2. I have had a problem with shortness of breath. Just recently it has been relieved. I am about 18 months gluten free and had just quit eating all foods I had intolerances to and begun digestive enzymes and adrenal support herbs! One day I suddenly noticed I breathed deeply! This is exciting! All the same to you, D
  3. I shouldn't be too surprised. This week (May 12) got off to an awful start. I should have maybe cancelled the dentist for this week. Still, I went off a little optimistic that I would not get lectures this time. I have been gluten free for over a year and hadn't had any cavities for several years. The hygentist listened half sympathetically as I mentioned...
  4. Yes, we do want to heal last week! Who can blame us? I do think there are ways to optimize healing which of coarse many of us would like to use. This could just be avoiding junk foods to consuming more vegetables. I also use sunshine, exercise, and supplements. One can never know how much good they do perhaps. I have stories though. Sometimes...
  5. Magnesium can cause diarrhea. My chiropractor does not want me to take it when I have diarrhea. I lay off for a couple days and go back to a smaller dose working my way up to a higher dose if necessary. I am using Genuine NZimes Dr. Howell's Formula Extra Strength. It is in powder form and you sprinkle it over your food. These I purchase through Azure...
  6. I have avoided yeast for more than a decade. I think I am okay now.
  7. Things to try eating: Eggs: chicken, quale meat chicken, beef, pork, fish, turkey, duck, bison, buffalo, yak, elk, lamb, nuts almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, walnuts, macademia nuts, pine nuts, cashews peanuts, pistachios, brazil nuts Coconut flour and milk. Seeds: sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds Vegetables (usually from the garden) beets, string beans...
  8. Hang in there, and keep up the good work!
  9. That's good news. I am hoping the same for me. I recently began a supplement. What specific improvements have been noted since the supplement began? I am working on this, or should I say it. I think I am losing some inflammation and numbness. I may be losing weight. More time will tell exactly.
  10. Maybe you could wear a mask while cooking gluten cakes. That would look really "cool".
  11. I had 30 years of undiagnosed celiac disease symptoms, at least. The worst of my symptoms were fogginess and fatigue. I have been gluten free for about 18 months. In the beginning, I feared that I felt like I would die, or never recover. But, I am better. Therefore, I believe there is hope for you. I drove through much of you beautiful state on ...
  12. I am using nut flours instead of grains. Nuts are also made into milks. Eat coconut and /or coconut milk if you can. I have been told not to have soy, but I don't know if that is a common recommendation for celiac. Are you on supplements and digestive enzymes? These helped me when I had numerous intolerances. I also did a four day rotation that helped...
  13. I felt like my breathing was free lately. I noticed some pressure I felt on my abdomen was gone! Then one day, I couldn't breath deep like that. It felt like I had an inner tube around my waist and it squeezed me! I happened to go to see my health practitioner that day. I noticed as I tried to breath deep for her that I couldn't. After a few days, I...
  14. I hope it will be definitive, but if it is negative it could be falsely negative. I know many of the symptoms you mention. I hope you will not have to return to gluten to get diagnosed. Keep us informed. Get Well, *** D
  15. All diet sacrifices have made it worth it for me. I feel better. I hope all of the same for you. Hopefully, you are finally to the root of the problem. The damage is reversible to a high degree. I had symptoms for 30 years and am 18 months gluten free. Learn and go down the gluten free road. It is worth it.
  16. Heading through Wisconsin tomorrow on 94! Watch out for a lady with her car oven baking sweet potato.
  17. How long have you experienced symptoms? What are you doing to nourish yourself? How committed to and knowledgeable are you to the diet? The answers to these questions would help decide how quickly you will heal. It is really hard to say how long it took me to feel better. I am 18 months into gluten free and I do feel better after 30 years of symptoms...
  18. I bloat when I eat corn, I have known that one for years. I have major fatigue brain fog problems with buckwheat (which is not a grain, but used like one.) I react to Lundberg rice cooking on the stove. I am eventually planning to test rice(produced in wheat free facilities) and perhaps other grains, but I am feeling so much better grain free it is hard...
  19. A quick Easy protein for breakfast: Poached eggs Fill fry pan with water put on stovetop with high heat. Meanwhile crack eggs. (Keep them whole if possible) When water boils, turn the heat to medium. Cook about 5 minutes or until slightly soft. Enjoy I hope you can eat eggs.
  20. I talked to an old friend whose husband was discharged (honorably, no doubt) when he was discovered to have a gluten intolerance. That was a couple of decades ago. He was nearly dead and they thought perhaps it was celiac when they were doing a last ditch surgery in an effort to discover what ailed him. He was told to avoid gluten. Since he has made a...
  21. I just saw in another post that one can't be drafted into service, if they have celiac disease. That makes sense to me, but I think it would really surprise my family. Can anyone confirm this?
  22. My anxiety got worse before it got better. I am currently 18 months gluten free and am still feeling changes daily of late. Please don't resign yourself to a life full of anxiety, yet. Have you had your adrenals checked? They are supposed to help handle stress, but mine were nutrient deprived from 30 years of celiac disease. My doctor checked my...
  23. I believe my tongue does swell when I eat gluten. My gums are also said to look irritated. Personally, I think it could be from gluten even a month later. My symptoms hung on longer then a month and some are still going. It does seem likely that you may have other allergies/intolerances that may cause this swelling. D
  24. Sorry, you are going through this. It would be nice to know what is going on. I wouldn't automatically decide it isn't working. You may be experiencing withdrawal, other intolerances, or Cross contamination. Don't give up. Keep being vigilant about gluten. You didn't by chance start taking magnesium? Get Well, *** D
  25. Being a mother with small ones in tow, I needed to muddle through somehow. I had some help from my older children and managed a nap several days just after lunch. I only did what I had to do, but this had been quite usual for a number of years. Stay home when you can and rest. Don't expect too much of yourself for a time. Put in some time on the forum...
