  1. Hi Renegade, Welcome, and please Get Well. Here are some get well flowers for you ***. I can understand the I'll do anything to get my health back attitude. I have had that attitude for 15 years at least. Notice my name, One Desperate Lady. I would keep all the whole foods that you can for now. My breakfast usually contains Poached eggs, nut...
  2. Hi Mixmyownsummer, It is sure okay to start out kind of overwhelmed. I did, and I know many others did also. I felt an initial improvement for a few days, so I wouldn't be surprised if you did. I had many pits and valleys after that. Usually the lowest lows were followed by the highest highs, so hang in there. You are on a road and keep walking....
  3. Yes, I have the option to edit or delete. Sooner or later I am done editing for better or for worse. I lost a blog one day after much work on it, so I gave up for a time. If you want to know about my last dentist appointment :( maybe someday I will be able to retype it or move it from wherever I stored it.
  4. Write down symptoms that changed, or change as you go back to gluten free, or from memories. If you keep track, as you go, you may get a better list then if you just rely on memory. Hair loss when gluten challenging would surely go on the list. D
  5. My children always like celery and apple pieces with nut butter. You can also spread it on romaine lettuce or use lettuce for a roll up sandwich. You can tear lettuce in pieces and grab a wad of meat or cheese with it and it is good! I learned that from the children from Ethiopia that I have adopted! Beans also work for this. Myself, I believe I would...
  6. I only can add that my practitioner told me that ferritin or iron being low or borderline is often the first indicator of celiac disease. That is not to say that everyone with low iron has celiac. When I am low on potassium a bite of parsley or fresh celery from the garden can give me some energy! D
  7. We have tried various popsicles. I puree strawberries and placed them in the molds. These are refreshing on a hot day. I made a big hit with the kids when we made 3 layer yogurt popsicles. We put in a plop of one color of yogurt, a plop of another, and finally a plop with the original color. They looked like something special. They tasted good! ...
  8. First, I want to say, thank you for honoring your mother by helping her and believing her! I am sorry she has had to endure doctors not believing her. Have the doctors checked your mother for celiac disease? Have they also checked her nutrient levels? I recognized some possible symptoms of magnesium deficiency in your list. )https://www.celiac.com...
  9. I didn't do the biopsy. To gage my amount of damage and healing, I did nutrient tests last November. In theory, since my nutrient levels were poor, by now they should have gone up. In reality, they have!
  10. It sounds like you should be tested for celiac. You wouldn't want to continue with these discomforts if you didn't have to. I hope you will get some definitive answers about the root of your problems that can be managed! Get well *** D
  11. sure wish you could find my blog one about the dentist!
  12. I hope you will get some definitive answers soon, and will get some direction. When your test is negative, it doesn't mean your symptoms are not there, it means that they cannot be defined yet. Many of us have been told it was all in our head. Now, I can tell you that mine was in my head, my tail, and all over in between. Keep on looking, because it...
  13. Awe, to have my sister read this. I am double DQ2 and double DQ8! My sister has some trouble with endometriosis.
  14. Sorry, to hear about the bump you just jolted over. I am just hoping you will keep going. The frustration ebbs and flows. Expect to be overwhelmed and frustrated for a while. Still, realize you are moving in the right direction to discover what it is that keeps you down. 30 years, it sounds familiar. Get Well Beanie ***Here's some flowers. D
  15. I wasn't successful, but it sounds like Peter helped us for the moment. I ended up putting mine in coping section and retyping it! It was for the 4th of July, though and didn't get posted til the 6th. Atleast, it is still the fourth of July weekend. Atleast one can save to draft and edit it. On my last attempt, I couldn't do that either! D
  16. I hope your test will be definitive for you. The diet is difficult, but a piece of cake compared to living with mental fog and fatigue. I hope you will be getting better soon. D
  17. Onedesperatelady may need a new name! Getting giddy usually happens to me before the next dive comes. Dive after dive has come to me since I have been really battling celiac disease (mostly Undiagnosed) for 6 years! By battling, I mean spending much efforts to help my body work right, my actual plight with celiac. disease has been at least 30 years. ...
  18. I had blood tests for antibodies to various foods and they helped me to know what to avoid and what to take a break from. After some time I began to add back foods that I had low levels of antibodies to and have so far added them back without problems. A rotational diet, only eating each food family every 4 days, helped me too. It became easier and...
  19. Welcome back! I hope you will get some rest. D
  20. onedesperatelady may need a new name. Getting giddy usually happens right before my next dive. Dive after dive has come to me since I began my hardest battle with mostly untreated celiac 6 years ago. By battling I mean spending much effort to help my body work right, my plight with celiac began at least three decades ago. Before it ended, I even stopped...
  21. I had a dip in iron levels after changing my diet. They are back up. Taking your supplements just after a meal is supposed to help keep tummy calm. I haven't had tummy issues with it. I take a natural variety of iron. Currently I take reacted iron by Ortho Molecular Products which I get through my health practitioner. D
  22. My Title is The Fireworks are Flying and you can bet I wanted it posted today! D
