  1. My Functional Medicine Nurse told me that it takes about 4 days for antibody levels to go down. I had mentioned that my reaction to eating mango peels (don't try it) peeked at about 4 days and took a week to go away. Mango peels have the same substance as poison ivy, so this experience isn't recommended. I went through a cycle just like I go through when...
  2. I would find a new doctor too. I also am super-sensitive and I won't consider a gluten challenge. I would think going gluten free without diagnosis would be better than waiting a whole year. All the best to you, get well, D
  3. A person I know recently had a Quest Celiac Panel. This included a check for Vitamin D, total iron, and calcium. I guess they must think that nutrient levels can help to determine celiac.
  4. -This is coming from a super-sensitive view and I have other intolerances besides gluten. I talked to a hygienist about having sensitivities to the toothpastes dentists use. She told me that using straight calcium carbonate was possible. When I next went to the dentist for cleaning I asked for it. They cleaned my teeth. I left with a headache. I got...
  5. Your list sounds like lists I have read on here. Sorry you have been suffering. I hope you are really going to be able to solve this now. I don't know much about the specific tests, but trust someone will be able to help. keep us posted on further tests. D
  6. My probiotic is taken on an empty stomach. Whereas my enzymes are taken before a meal. They are separate. They are different things. I know they have capsules that are time release, so I can't say for sure whether it might be possible to release each when or where they are needed.
  7. I would ask questions about , what foods to focus on, and whether her nutrient levels are adequate. If you are by any chance still nursing, keep on. Mommy milk is the easiest to digest. I suspect it could help for you to eat gluten free while nursing, This is a guess by an experienced mother, but I was diagnosis challenged (I didn't know I had celiac...
  8. Does brain fog and anxiety run rise together? I think mine does. I am thinking these are neurological troubles and hard to talk about and define until one discovers what it is like without them. I mentioned that because of the comment that she had little other symptoms. I think the fog, fatigue, and anxiety were my hardest symptoms.
  9. A rotational diet seems to be helping me with preventing antibodies.. I took an Elisa test and found I had antibodies to all but 11 things I had been eating. I avoided all of the foods I had antibodies to for 3 weeks. In the meanwhile, I had begun on enzyme supplements to help break down my food. Now, I have I begun to add foods, I had very low antibodies...
  10. I replaced potatoes with sweet potatoes. I am now excited each and every day I can eat sweet potatoes. Lately I discovered that Jerusalem Artichokes can be grated and fried like potato hashbrowns. I also use muffins made with nuts to replace bread at meals. Most of the gluten free products are outside of the gluten-free aisle. These include meats...
  11. I am sorry you have to suffer like this. I am glad you are searching for a root to your struggles. You may be on the right track checking out celiac. It would be good to find out for sure if you have it. In order for the tests to be accurate, you must be eating gluten. Good thing that you haven't tried removing it yet. Here is the list of tests to run...
  12. Oh, I am sorry you feel that way. Usually the testing is a blood test. If this sort of test bothers you, you can probably lay down and not watch it. I like to look away when the needle goes in, but I am often surprised that I only feel it a little. I don't mind watching as the little viles are filled to keep tabs on how many and if it is nearly done....
  13. Your welcome. I hope it will give people ideas. I am hoping people will get better one step at a time. Gonna fly now, I hope!
  14. We all seem to start a bit overwhelmed, but work out of it eventually. Irish heart wrote a thread for Newbies incase you have yet to see it. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/?hl=%2Birishheart+%2Bnewbie#entry833862 I am still in the healing process. Note: there may be still some unanswered questions in the original post. Also...
  15. Yes, anxiety has been an issue for my whole life. It has also been an issue for the family I grew up in and the family I am mother too. I hope she will soon have a definitive diagnosis and feel better. Diana
  16. Wow, Please do work on it to get well. IF you can do or have done a nutrient test you can find out some exact things that you are needing. Do get quality supplements. I get mine through my health care professionals. Probiotic: Adds good bacteria that live in the intestines. Yougart contains these bacteria. There are many varities and each can...
  17. Many of us have other intolerances.
  18. I would inquire of whoever did the test and of the lab that did it. They should interpret their results. The company I worked with sent explanations with the results and also I contacted them by e-mail.
  19. IT is so good to know you have celiac, when you do! I am happy for you and your daughter. Sorry about the diet, but I think it is a piece of cake compared to living with celiac and gluten!
  20. Make sure to read the ingredients for any vaccine you take in. The person giving shots has a list of ingredients in every box.
  21. Welcome, Withjoy I hope you will get your endoscopy done and be able to go gluten free soon! You can begin to study up and prepare your kitchen for your gluten free future. Diana
  22. Yeah, sounds good Yeah, sounds good. It seems like you need a firm diagnosis. I guess I am a wimp. I try to avoid any and all pain. But I also have a positive celiac diagnosis.
  23. Our family has four different dentists. None of them will have any excuse not to know this in the future. I made copies and will be delivering them ASAP.
  24. I am just hoping you won't have to keep 2nd guessing forever and will get some definitive results. Barley, spelt, and kamut have gluten in them as does wheat. Perhaps the ones besides wheat would be slightly easier on your digestion as you wait for testing. I hope you find answers and will get better soon. Diana
  25. I had heart problems related (I think) to mal-nutrition. Namely these were high blood pressure 185/115 and my orthostatic blood pressure dive bombed when I stood up and stayed down. These resolved with supplements that my chiropractor tested for and provided me with. Make sure to get quality supplements and hopefully some form of nutrient testing, so that...
