ARCHIVED Celiacs, Have You Tested Repeatedly For Trace Of Blood In Urine?
1desperateladysaved posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
When I have had urine tests, I have had a trace of blood in my urine. I think as far back as high school, and perhaps before. That would be more than 30 years. The MD would always figure it was a trace and not getting worse. It might have to do with my period which was coming or going in a week or so. My anemia was thought perhaps a result of this... -

ARCHIVED Oops, Read The Label Even On Liquid Stevia
1desperateladysaved replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Corn is a not for me (and many) too. I will check up on natural flavoring, because I was told it has gluten. Oh, I guess that is the difference. For me I am not to have any grain. I know corn has gluten, because we have used corn gluten to keep the weeds down in the garden. Bartful, please explain "Carried on Corn." Please also explain. that Stevia... -
ARCHIVED Oops, Read The Label Even On Liquid Stevia
1desperateladysaved posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have been using flavored liquid stevia on occassion. I was having company and thought perhaps that I would use up some I don't eat anymore that has vanilla. I poured in the 1/2 tsp. Just after I did so I realized that in the 4 or so months since going gluten free I had never read the label. But it was after all just stevia, but stevia is a leaf and... -

ARCHIVED Help! Celiac And Appendicitis
1desperateladysaved replied to SilverSlipper's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I am planning my family brings my food if I ever need to stay in the hospital. I might be so bold as to bring my electric skillet or crock pot. Because what else can a person do. You need good nourishing food when you are recovering. Diana -
I felt nauseated, weak, and fatigued after just catching a whiff of vinegar. I am not certain what kind it was. I also swelled, I noticed the swelling in my abdomen and thighs. I didn't know to check my face at the time. It took a few days for my reaction to be done. Vinegar is fermented, if I am correct. I react to fermentation. That might be a possibility...

This verse has carried my through some of the last few months since I found out I have celiac. I hope that it will help you. "And even to your old age I am He, and even to gray hairs will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you." Is. 46:4 You have been sick a couple of years longer than I, however, I was... -

Sorry, I guess you are taking the supplements of things you were deficient in?. I hope your good days are still ahead and not too far away. Sometimes recovery is like a rollar coaster and you seem to be at a low spot. Hang on for the ride. Things to look for: allergies or food intolerances cross contamination (My cookbooks were dusty with flour... -
Hope For The Family: How A Husband Can Come Around
1desperateladysaved posted a blog entry in 1desperateladysaved's Blog
My family didn't like the idea of yet another diet change! They didn't see how fatigued or foggy I felt. I must admit the whole thing seems a bit unbelievable. After hearing 30 years of my complaints my husband turned a deaf ear to my supposed health problems. Here I was trying to follow a 100% gluten diet without support. I heard it might get... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Since August 10 2012 - Feeling Tired
1desperateladysaved replied to Canadian's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
One thing I feel about natural remedies like diet: If there is any reaction at all it is good. If you feel good or bad something is happening. I had about a week of bliss before falling into withdrawl or foggy dizziness of dispair. I don't know if it was withdrawl or contact with gluten and other problem foods. I was doing something right before... -
ARCHIVED Whats The Deal With Cheese?
1desperateladysaved replied to MitziG's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I think it might be because of the fermentation. Mold is used to produce cheese. I know some others mentioned strong reactions to fungi. I haven't had cheese for 15 years, because I looked 9 months pregnant 15 minutes after eating it. -

ARCHIVED No Prior Symptoms -- Intense Dehydration?
1desperateladysaved replied to newbaker's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Extreme thirst is a symptom which I have had. I think it is related to Celiac. I now think that I am dehydrating during attacks. Symptoms have included bright yellow to nearly orange urine, and dry mouth. I also don't sweat or have tears at the worst of these times. I was recently cautioned by my doctors to stay out of the hot sun. I was swollen... -
ARCHIVED Bloating Up
1desperateladysaved replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I could go for an owner's manual about now. I inquired recently to my nutritional superivisors about enzymes. They thought I either had too short of transit time, or was low in hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Transit time was 36 hours. I don't know how I would test the stomach acid. -
ARCHIVED Helping Others With Gluten Tolerance
1desperateladysaved replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Oh, I was stupid enough to have reacted to these hotdogs atleast 2 times. I forgot, until I reacted again to stay away. I feel so sad, maybe you misunderstood? I wrote the company encouraging and inquiring, not accusing and ordering. I am hoping they verify attention to everything necessary to serve celiacs. They must be trying or they wouldn... -
ARCHIVED Helping Others With Gluten Tolerance
1desperateladysaved posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It happened to me the other day. I ate hotdogs with no gluten in their label, but my body said there is a problem. I know there is a chance that it was something other than the hotdog, but nothing else seemed likely. There is no reason for a hotdog to have gluten, but this one clearly said "gluten free." . I sat down at my computer to e-mail the hotdog... -

ARCHIVED I Think I've Been Glutened

You can dry the rice slowly in the oven. Atleast, I did that once accidently. I was trying to make rice cakes, but instead of being puffy, the rice went back to its small dry state. I think that might be nicer for the wedding!
