  1. I use baking soda to make things rise. I use oil or eggs for the acidic part. Most recipes seem to be just fine that way. For most recipes I use 1 1/2 tsp of baking soda and whatever eggs or oil are in the recipe.
  2. I have traced blood in urine for 30+ years. I also had issues with urgency and frequent urination. Almost 6 months ago I went gluten free. I have not been checked yet to see if it has gone away. To be continued. There are other strings on this subject.
  3. I keep getting really good ideas of what I should do. That is nice. I was really wondering how YOU do it. How do you decide what you should eat? I think I have gotten some answers now. Thanks
  4. I understand that everyone reacts differently. That is part of the reason that I asked this question. I can be more concise with my answer. I have not removed anything that I had not been suspicious of for a long time, or had a reaction to. Upon removal, I got confirmations by reacting to the smell. I also had withdrawl symptoms or symptoms of my body...
  5. I was in the kitchen, just minding my own business: the dishes. I had already put in a full day, or had I? For over a week, I had been suffering from a cold. The cold wasn't too bad, but the fatigue was overwhelming. It seemed I could accomplish nothing. This night the family of 7's dishes, for the whole day, were stacked on the counter. It was too...
  6. I am glad that you got such a definative answer with antibody and biopsy agreeing. I hope your worst health fears won't come and you will be healed. I hope you will absolutely have no gluten and your family will rally with you. Diana
  7. Some foods have controversy about whether a celiac can have them or not. Not many of us have their own labs. I surely don't want to test a food that will do harm. Even experts have conflicting views. My current thought is this. I am just beginning the healing process at 5 months grain free and 7 months gluten free. I feel I need to be absolutely stringent...
  8. I have a 9 year old son that went grain free as I result of my necessity. This son is adopted. For four months over the summer he did not grow. He was expected to grow because he was malnourished in his birth home. He now enjoys much nourishing food. His sister had begun to grow and kept growing. Suddenly in the last month my son grew an inch. Now...
  9. Yes, you may just ask. I hope your doctor will help you. Be prepared with a list of symptoms. You may want to ask about other tests too. On the forum you can find out what tests. Are you already gluten free, because if you are the blood test will likely be negative whether you have a gluten problem or not. Mine was negative 3 weeks after starting...
  10. The papers that I received with my test results said that Teff has gluten.
  11. It took me years to come up with the mango idea. Tomato is a fruit, but it is not the only fruit. I was thinking that tomato sauce is maybe just a little tangy. It adds to the overall flavor of the pizza, but the spices give it the pizza flavor. If you have ever made tomato sauce and boiled it for hours you will discover the beauty of the mango sauce...
  12. Yes, that is where I am at. I will think of a bunch more things that people "want to have" more than gluten free diet. I can't understand them, if they only heard themself and understood their choices. I am not going to argue too much about it with them. I am going to take some time to be astounded. It would be humourous if it weren't so sad. As...
  13. Thanks, Where I was coming from is that I have been wondering at the choices others around me are making. I would rather not eat gluten free; it is too much trouble they say. Meanwhile, they suffer, suffer, suffer as I look on in wonder. I am still working on the post and will try to make it clearer.
  14. I am just thinking about the choices of people around us that think our diet is "too inconvienient" for them to save them from their health woes. Gluten free or extreme fatigue? Cook it your self or diarrhea? Eat at home or drive home dizzy? Explain to friends, or eat it and grim? Gluten free life or infertility? Cooking or itching with...
  15. I grow, eat, and recommend organic foods. Maybe I am here because I have for nearly 20 years!
  16. I was there at about 3 weeks after I started. I became overwhelmed at all there was to learn. I also had suffered through some accidental reactions. I think one's body is working hard at recover. At 5 months grain free, I am still feeling a bit tied down, but I have been realizing the benefits. I don't want to eat out. I don't want to eat anything...
  17. Can you do coconut? I was having dehydration problems with a recent cold. My tongue was cleaving to the roof of my mouth. I believe my red eyes might have been assoicated with the dehydration. Water just seemed to be going straight through. I tried coconut water. In a couple of hours my mouth was moistened again. It seemed to stick better than water...
  18. Thanks, I am happy to report that it isn't I that was tested or has IGG4. My chiro did tell me she felt I had atleast 1 auto immune, but didn't put a name on it. A friend was dying a year ago. He somehow recovered; One year later he was hospitalized again. He recovered. He tried avoiding gluten for a while, but felt no difference. I still...
  19. I woke up from a dream of eating buns. I was thinking hard about it, but I wasn't scared, I was enjoying it! Only in my dreams I told myself. I can enjoy these things in my dreams.
  20. Crust: made from almond flour crust. Sauce: made from Mango sauce. Mango that I put through the blender. Topping: 1 layer of Eggs. Sausage and veggies. Don't forget some salt, this isn't cheese after all. Spice: Pizza spice (leave it off if you can't handle it.) I can have Pizza and I like it too. I was however deprived of pizza for years,...
  21. Are auto immune diseases associated with Celiac? Does Celiac cause Auto-immune diseases? Does anything else cause auto-immune disease? Does anyone have or know about IGG 4? I hope that I did not have it and I didn't have it. I was telling a friend about my IGG testing and she was concerned I had what her son has. Does it have anything to do with IGG...
  22. I can relate to waiting for results. I didn't want to have celiac, but I was hoping I would, so that I could do something about my problems. I received my result by e-mail. I stared at the monitor and caught my breath when it finally arrived. I hoping your results will be accurate and that you will receive them soon. Diana
  23. Today my older children were going out. My husband gave some money for our little ones (going with) to go out to eat . My 24 year-old daughter groaned. I have had to go out to eat too much lately. My acne really flares up when I do. I carefully exited the room. I gently climbed the stairs. Lastly, I skipped down the hall at top speed! My oldest...
  24. "Well, it did not go away and the reactions are very disturbing. If I get wheat my lungs shut down completely." Bad news: I don't think you really have a choice. If you are having reactions like that, you could die! It can't be worth it. Good news: You can still bake yummy cookies for your son. There are many gluten free recipes on the internet...
  25. I would encourage anyone who thinks they want a vaccine to ask their physician (or the Center for Disease Control) website what is in them. The physcian receives the informations which each batch of vaccine. To avoid the flu I carefully wash my hands with homemade soap frequently. We eat an organic, natural food diet, and get some sunshine. If someone...
