  1. Maybe you could make or have made leggings to match you dress. Also a cordinating color may sometimes be found in leggings. I hate to see a dress lover be stuck in ugly jeans to hide.
  2. I have to wear tennis shoes all of the time. This is a result of plantar fasheyitis Please feel free not to think of me as your counselor in fashion. I try to wear the dress least dressy to match the shoes, so I am often found in denim jumpers. Nearly always now I have elastic waist jeans or capris under my dress. I get some looks, but it covers...
  3. I do wear dresses exclusively. I have rejected all use of skirts which defy gravity and slide way up. I like dresses, they look pretty, but one of the reasons I wear them is this puffy belly. Who else?
  4. Thanks, I have purchased the green form of stevia. Perhaps next year I can plant it in the garden. I have made other attempts at that. Anyway, since I purchased the green form I very rarely use it. Maybe I can do without?
  5. I still have pre-gluten free stuff in the freezer. I mark it carefully if I put in something that I can eat. MOM YES< Gluten free. Now I have grain free besides. Someday when I have energy, I will clean out the freezer in the hall!
  6. I am sorry you had to go through what you did. I couldn't help being a little glad that you had that pain. Too bad it was misinterpreted and you were made to feel crazy. However, now it is found out and you don't have to live with it, you can recover. Ha. I think I would like to see a thread on wearing dresses! It sure is easier than waist huggers...
  7. I am happy that you made your choice. Now, I hope you get very well. Diana
  8. We use to have gluten and gluten free when someone else cooked. I started reacting to the smells of food which made it really hard. Now, we usually eat the same thing. I have children as old as 24 and young as 8. The youngest two pretty much like anything I make. When I go out I now pack a foil meal. I have a "cooler" that will keep things warm...
  9. Megan, I was hoping you diagnosis would be clear. I am glad though that you can be gluten free and move on. I hope you can atleast wait on the drugs and try the diet first. I am pretty sure the diet calmed inflammation in my system. Get well to you. Diana
  10. Last time I drank Glucola. I was sick, sick, sick. I couldn't shake the resulting fatigue, fogginess, and nausea. I also tested 80 one hour after, which is low for fasting. Hmm that was maybe a clue that my absorbtion wasn't so good. Just to clarify I was 5 months pregnant and tended toward nausea. I probably had not consumed as much sugar as was in...
  11. Yeah, you really are new, but I was there 5 months back. You need some down time, but the bottom line is that you might not get it. Do your best and know that the body was made to recover. Honestly, I haven't cleaned my whole kitchen yet, but gluten flour isn't used in it anymore. I would have liked for it to have a thorough cleaning, but atleast...
  12. Thanks, and I hope you will have the energy you need. How long have you been gluten free? I think we better be able to tell the next guy about celiac. Their loved ones, or they themselves may be suffering.
  13. Yeah, for sure there is hope for others. There is hope for us too, so hang on.
  14. I nearly died five years ago. Meanwhile I was trying to act normal. I tried to do my responsibilities. I dragged my feet through every day. One time I said, "I feel like I am drowning, but you are telling me to ignore the waves." I couldn't do that. I got no extra rest, no hospital stays, and no flowers. Wow! That was hard. Family members discussed...
  15. I had one misccarriage and after that 5 healthy births when I had undiagnosed celiac. After that I had 12+ years of infertility. I think it is possible to have babies with celiac. You want healthy ones though, so follow the diet. I didn't know I had celiac at the time.
  16. Did the nerves get the best of you, or are you through it. Please update. Diana
  17. A note to that you may go through some withdrawl symptoms while healing. Any reaction your body makes is a good one. It is a sign of healing to come. How long exactly that it takes to heal depends on many factors. How long you have been suffering damage. How completly you avoid gluten. If you can absorb the nutrients you need. I believe supplements...
  18. Greetings, I don't know what low serotonin but perhaps someone will. I am sorry you have been suffering like this. I hope you will feel better soon. When I am using natural means (such as diet) I want my body to have a response. It could be a pleasant response or an uncomfortable response, but if it responds something is happening! You may be...
  19. Oh, I am so sad for you. I had a big struggle since I live with my family of several adult children. I wrote a blog on "How a husband can come around." Other family members are changing their attitude somewhat. I think I blogged about that too. Now, my husband has realized that I have had a problem with gluten. (8 months gluten free, 6 months grain...
  20. I take so much food with on my trips that I come home with less stuff then I left with. I am a committed believer in eating my own food. I use an electric skillet or crock pot at the hotel. I sometimes precook food. I sometimes back in convenient packs. That means the meat, spices, and veggies I need to make the dish. I hope you will have a healthy...
  21. I struggle with sugar. I have known I have hypoglycemia for many years. I know some people can't tolerate fruit at all. If you fit in to that category, vegetables are a tasty replacement. I have sometimes wondered if I need to do that, but I haven't yet. I do have a plan. I only eat fruit with a meal. To optimize you would want to have a tablespoon...
  22. It is getting closer. I hope a diagnosis will be clear. Diana
  23. Oh, sorry. I hope you will be feeling better soon. Yes, it is quite a trip on the road to better health. Keep treking, though. Diana
  24. "Gluten can only cause a Celiac reaction (villious Atrophy) when ingested, it can not pass trough the skin." I am trying to understand: How do you know? Is Celiac reaction different from reaction? I could say that I react to something; (all of the while) I don't know what kind of reaction it is, right? Also, nobody can see a villious response in...
  25. There is an herbal substitute for coffee. Perhaps someone on the forum could tell you what it is. Otherwise, maybe ask at a health food store. You could still have a hot drink. Whatever, I hope your rash will go away. I hope that the diet will help you. Get well, *** Diana
