  1. It took me around a year and a half to see real improvement. It was like a switch finally turned on. I could again remember things, recall details and could finally find those words I wanted to use but would allude me. I was un-diagnosed for a very long time so it may have taken me longer. Colleen
  2. Now I have to google "Gelato" You guys are making me INSANE !!! Dinner, I guess some kind of left over because I just realized it was dinner time. Colleen
  3. Holy Kitchen Ware This is a must have. It will match my new red hot pad thingys. Bunnies....I want !!! Ummmm. I need a new screen anyway . I'm on it. Colleen
  4. I just got the silicone square ones at my local Meijer store. They are very cool. I'm going to order the mitt that Irish told about. Now I'm wondering what other seriously cool kitchen gadgets are out there that I don't know about Colleen
  5. The OP on this thread had specific issues to address. A new topic would be favorable with current members contributing. Colleen
  6. Cooties, you have responded to a member who hasn't been active since December 2012. Colleen
  7. Irish. Those are sweet. I'm on it. I always use my hot pads for oven mitts because my oven mitt is a big, bulky thing that hates me and I always end up with a thumb in anything I touch. Rinsing them off after I deform my food will be great. Colleen
  8. Do you mean they can be rinsed in the sink before use? That would be great because I have limited space to keep doubles of everything. Colleen
  9. Dang. That just plain sucks.
  10. Abbs, yours should be fine. Mine just took my son's frozen pizza out of the oven a day ago. I had just replaced them a month ago but didn't get separate ones for me. It never crossed my mind. Colleen
  11. Are you sure it was the supplements? It sounds like food poisoning. Did you get new produce? Something that could be in your food supply? it sounds like it was awful. Sorry you had to go through that. Colleen
  12. Hot Pads. I just took my banana bread out of the oven and had moment of clarity...we all use the same hot pads!!! I definitely feel like an idiot. Colleen
  13. You are not wrong in your thinking. It is very sobering when you find that a waffle iron, a crumb, or what have you will cause such turmoil to your body. For Thanksgiving I would keep it very simple. If you can't find a turkey that you feel is safe just get some turkey breasts. Make potatoes, vegies and fruit dishes. Search the site for great casserole...
  14. Great comment Barty. Will be interesting to see if he replies and what he says if he does. Colleen
  15. Gosh, snow on the ground last week and tornados last night. I believe Mother Nature has "brain fog". Colleen
  16. Sensationalist fool is absolutely correct. Colleen
  17. I didn't find any medical research, only issues that may plague the inside of the ears that may or may not be a result of gluten. DH is an entirely different issue. As shadow suggested, an allergy of some sort may make an area of the body red. There are many reasons for our body doing the things it does. I would just caution you to rule out any health...
  18. Where in the world did hear that red, hot ears can be a sign of gluten intolerance. This is completely ridiculous IMHO. Colleen
  19. It seems deceitful to put that quote in there. The author knows nothing about Barty or her struggles. Makes her sound like a fad dieter. He doesn't seem to like c.com either. Colleen
  20. Ha. My Mom has lived in Hawaii around 10 years now and when they visit me in Ohio in August the heat, which really effects me poorly, has no effect on them and if the temperature drops below 80 they are reaching for a throw Colleen
  21. People always say, take the whole family gluten free. It's easier and no big deal. In reality, it would be easier for me and it would be no big deal for me BUT I have never asked my Hubs to sacrifice his sausage gravy and biscuits and I'll tell you why. Five months after I started my gluten free life I was diagnosed with cancer. I had two operations...
  22. (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Thank you for sharing that Barty
  23. Keep in mind that your body is using a ton of energy just to get and stay well so you are burning more calories. All of the nasty stuff before gluten free is trying to come back to hurt your body and possibly you are not absorbing properly. Hang in there, your doing great. Colleen
  24. There are many of us who must share a kitchen with family members. This is entirely possible to do but I feel the need to send out a reminder to you to "Review and Renew". I recently started feeling poorly. The cause I believe was a slow glutening from my kitchen. I promptly tore apart my kitchen and started from scratch. These are the issues I found...
  25. I had the opposite. Greatly increased skin sensitivity. Everything eventually normalized. I imagine it will normalize for you too. Good luck. Colleen
