  1. Just a thought. Endoscopies are usually not routine. Why did you have one? Were you having some kind of issue? Even heartburn can be a symptom. Colleen
  2. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the company at the table. Colleen
  3. I still have Insomnia also. I take medication to get about 4 hours every night. Colleen
  4. Ok, I'm not Gem but I do love the squares and I have no problems with them Colleen
  5. Sorry. You know I loves ya. gfindc won the draw cuz he posted the first thread
  6. Thanksgiving Dinner Preparation Injury Report: Sliced finger cutting up apples for pie. Scraped knuckles from zesting. Puncture on palm cutting sweet potatoes. Lost part of fingernail dicing parsley. Steam burn from green beans. All in all a pretty successful prep. Of course I had a lot of support from Irish!!! Bring on the FOOD. Colleen
  7. Dang. The more information we have, the more knowledge we seek - Colleen
  8. Replies have been merged from a Topic called "New Technology For Celiacs" started by Tonalynn. The merge puts all the replies by date so the thread may seem convoluted. Colleen
  9. I want one of those bubbles Colleen
  10. Kelly, you are the first person I've come across here from my home town (or close) I grew up in St. Paul. I usually get back up around Brainard every couple years to our Family Cabin. I am going to write down Wildfire so we can stop on our drive from Ohio. Thanks Colleen
  11. I can see all of us going restaurants and whipping out our secret decoders. I can dig it. Colleen
  12. OMG! I absolutely loved Breton Crackers. I will wait impatiently for my store to stock them. Maybe I'll put a bug in their ear, we had words about peanut butter earlier this year so they will want to shut me up quickly Colleen
  13. I think it is great that you are doing this for your children and to be treated properly for your other health issues. It is an important piece of your health puzzle. Colleen
  14. I would like to order a to go plate of Love2's dinner. Colleen
  15. Make your self a batch of gluten free brownies. There are ready made mixes available and they are fabulous. It not a doughnut, it's better Eventually these cravings will dissipate and be easier to deal with. Colleen
  16. Here is a good reference to look at. I think in the end, if you react to it stop, if no problems then the concentration has been sufficiently reduced by natural processes. In studies it is not connected to Celiac Disease. Open Original Shared Link Colleen
  17. I have never seen such a thing. Your best bet may be a gluten-free Bakery if you have any near you. Colleen
  18. Another reason to be tested now is your children. If you have Celiac Disease in your family then your children may be affected also. There is a genetic component to Celiac. If you test negative than you might need other testing to find out if you have a different health issue to address. Healing from Celiac Disease can take up to a year for all issues...
  19. I would also add that many of your symptoms could be from Thyroid Disease and you should ask for those blood test too. Colleen
  20. Karen, thank you for clarifying the accuracy figures. Research in this area has moved relatively quickly and we must use current data in our discussions. Colleen
  21. I have seen parents report that a gluten free diet has helped to stabilize mood and improve behavior problems. There is on-going research in the areas of Autism, ADD/ADHD and general mental health issues. It may be a 7 yr old thing or it could be a cc issues or both. Tighten up the diet at home and school. School would be a prime candidate for cc issues...
  22. Yes. Celiac is an autoimmune disease and separate from an allergy. It is possible to have both but an allergy and autoimmune diseases are completely different. An allergen triggers the non-specific "Innate" system and an autoimmune disease triggers the "adaptive" system which will go after more specific targets. The innate system will trigger the adapt...
  23. I still don't understand how this study links Celiac Disease/Intolerance to wheat, barley and rye gmo's when they were not even a part of this study. Gluten, in its classic sense is what causes Celiac Disease. Not gluten in corn, soy etc. I can only conclude that this study is completely misleading and only promotes Tom O'Bryan's agenda. Am I wrong here...
  24. I don't quite understand. Since wheat, barley and rye are not GMO's what is the connection in this study saying that GMO gluten triggers or exacerbates Celiac Disease? Colleen
  25. Think of it this way. These foods you are dying for are actually foods you are slowly dying FROM. You are diagnosed Celiac and you damage your body every time you eat gluten. Many people have noted that some of their mental health issues lessened or completely resolved. Colleen
