  1. Hi there, and Welcome to the Forum. Reaction times really do go across the board for different people. For me, I will start cramping within an hour of exposure and not get through the entire cycle for 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. Some suffer overnight and are done. I also believe the level of exposure makes a difference in severity of some of the symptoms. ...
  2. Hi Selmz, and Welcome to the Forum. First, just so you know, this thread is almost 5 years old. And second, I have NEVER heard of someone getting glutened by a paper plate or paper towel. I would consider cc before you blame paper products. You said it happened with take-away products (possible contamination) and microwave at work (possible contamination...
  3. If the dishwasher magically glutened everything, no celiac would ever heal. That's my opinion and I'm stickin to it. You do not need to spend every waking moment "Being Celiac". You just need to modify your diet and LIVE LIFE. Save your strength for the big stuff in life. The worse thing about Celiac is getting diagnosed, after that it's a stroll...
  4. stupid squirrel tricks....that could have won on Funnies Home Videos. I'm hoping something will jump from the fridge to the microwave and then land in my lap. Colleen
  5. Hi Nick, I can't stop myself from chiming in here. Are you still drinking ANY alcohol at all? This seems to be consistent with your drinking. If you have stopped ALL alcohol, then possibly visit your Doctor for an antibody check, nutrient deficits and possible other autoimmune issues. I do hope you get this all sorted out. Colleen
  6. The genetic test IS NOT the gold standard for Celiac testing. Please make sure you are getting your information from reputable sources ie: not friends and not some odd person on the Internet. This will only cause you confusion. Tighten up that diet and go over your Kitchen protocols. And you WILL test negative on blood test AND Negative on Biopsy after...
  7. Hi 0range, I'm just wondering, were you eating gluten free at the time of your test? Did you start gluten-free after the test result? Colleen
  8. Hi Frozen, and Welcome to the Forum. You certainly came to the right place !! and so great to hear that your husband is so supportive, its so important. I'm glad to hear that you've read the Newbie thread, it has great information. We are here to support you also. Ask anything you need and vent at will. One last thing. Learn patience. it sometimes...
  9. Congratulations Wendy, your doing great ! Remember it sometimes takes over a year to see improvement in our issues. I remember last summer I had an AHA moment. My brain felt like it finally started back up. It was an amazing feeling to have that fog lifted after so so many years. Keep doing what your doing, your IMPROVING! Colleen

    ARCHIVED Melanoma

Hi KJblock, and Welcome to the Forum. As you can see from my Avatar and Sig line, Melanoma has touched my life. I have Stage 3b Metastatic Melanoma. I remember in my early searching on the subject, I found some obscure citations of a link to Celiac, but, there is still no conclusive evidence that a link actually exists. Don't waste any time trying...
  11. Irish has to wear pants! NeeNerNeeNerNeeNer
  12. Hi Tryme, When it comes to our Health, it IS a big deal. I would suggest that you go thru all of your gluten free practices. Your kitchen etc. Make sure your supplements are all gluten-free. Don't eat out side of the home for the time being. Basically check EVERYTHING down to your lip balm. Look thru the Newbie 101 thread as a refresher or for the...
  13. Hi KCG. Biotin supports hair and nails. Good Luck, Colleen
  14. Very Good GeeF. Thanks Colleen
  15. Thanks POP, I just wanted to add that this recall is for "Undeclared Milk" only. Those with Milk issues can find the products effected on the link POP provided. These products were sold in Canada AND the United States. Thanks, Colleen
  16. I will choose a DO over an MD every time. In my opinion, they have a more well rounded way of looking at a problem. Colleen
  17. I eat Kroger Rotisserie Chickens all the time with no issues. Like the Cow's say, "Eat Mor Chiken" Colleen
  18. Hi Frosty, and Welcome to the Forum As Barty said, probably just a bug. The flu season is going into high gear. Drink lots of water. Colleen
  19. Hi Rissa, and Welcome to the Forum. I'm afraid I don't know your history. Are you Celiac/NCGI? Do you have a medical diagnosis and how long have you been diagnosed? I'm asking these questions because on this thread and another I saw you are portraying a very cavalier attitude on eating out. I would hate to have our newer members think that they can...
  20. Are you sure the burrito was gluten free. She makes a few varieties including organic and gluten free. All sold in the same area. Colleen

    ARCHIVED Records

Hi SkyBlue That is unreal. It's like there was a completely different patient there. I would call the office Nurse right away and confront her instead of the Doctor directly. That gives him the out of saying "those are the notes to tell you on your next visit" or some idiot excuse, but it also lets him know that you get every copy and he needs to step...
  22. Someone needs to make a Sci-Fi thriller about the Polar Vortex destroying the world and teenage mutant ninja turtul people save the world. I would buy that ticket.
  23. To the three previous posters. Please note that this thread is 8 years old. Your responses are no longer relevant to the OP. Please start a New Topic to discuss your concerns and more people will be likely to respond. Thank You. Colleen
  24. Hi MsMarginalized, and Welcome to the Forum. We have had some good and informative discussion in regards to Shared Kitchens. Do a quick search on the Forum. You may spot some things you haven't considered. Good Luck, Colleen
  25. Diana. You sound like you are concerned with the topic name but not concerned enough to see a Doctor? These eye issues are not related to Celiac and would be better dealt with by your Functional Doctor or an Eye Doctor. There is no thread for "oddities" since this is a Celiac/NCGI Forum. Let us know what the Doctor says if you want. Colleen
