  1. Hi SimonSez, Like Irish, I also had the whole collection of AI syndromes. Let's see: Bi-Polar depression, fibro, myofascial pain, raynaud's, IBS, syncope, sjogrens's, osteopenia, spinal stenosis, migraines, gerd, carpal tunnel, bursitis of hips, peri-formis syndrome, sacroiliitis, and possible lupus. All are caused by inflammation. Almost all resolved...
  2. Sorry to hear this. Aside from the Motrin, what are the Doctors going to do to follow up with this? Do they know how long this has been going on? Do they know about the tingling? Are you seeing a Specialist? I know, lots of questions but now you are getting more physical manifestations of a problem and I worry about you. We can all get other health...
  3. Also, I am pretty sure you must not be taking steroids before diagnosis, by blood or skin biopsy. The biopsy must be taken next to a lesion. A positive biopsy is equal to a positive diagnosis for Celiac Disease as DH is the skin form of Celiac. Some with DH will test negative by blood but positive for DH. Look for Posts by "Squirmingitch", She has...
  4. Hi Steph. Thank you for Posting this information. I had basically said some of the same things but it was seemingly over looked on the thread. Colleen
  5. You said 99% sure? Have you prepared you Kitchen to be Gluten Free? Did you eat out? Take a look at the Newbie 101 Thread if you haven't already. Hope you feel better. Colleen
  6. With the Schools closing AGAIN today, these kids will be in school until July...brrrrrrrr
  7. I forgot to mention. Most Endocrinologists use the term (Adrenal Insufficiency) for a medical diagnosis. Colleen
  8. Hi 3d, Cigarettes do not contain gluten. Concentrate on fresh foods and try to stay away from packaged foods. In the Newbie thread you will see there are other precautions you need to be aware of to be Gluten Free successfully. Ask all the questions you need to and we can help you with this transition. Colleen
  9. Hi Nicole Good advice to drop the DHEA. Read Here: Open Original Shared Link . If at some point you need to increase your testosterone then there are prescription creams and you can take shots. Florinef sounds good. Read here: Open Original Shared Link . Treats Orthostatic Intolerance. About the Cortef. It does surppress the immune system...
  10. Sounds good Nicole, let us know how it goes. Colleen
  11. Yes, if it is not needed long term, taper off. We know they are not good for us long term anyway. And I do think you probably shouldn't have taken it before the test because the test will reflect the level with the help. Open Original Shared Link Stressful Conditions In stressful situations, cortisol's role is to provide glucose to the body...
  12. Hi Kristinagaro, and Welcome to the Forum FYI, this thread is close to six years old and these posters may be gone. Also, why don't you swing over to the Food thread and ask for a pickle recipe there as a new topic. You will get many more responses. Welcome again and Good Luck, Colleen
  13. Hi Peg, I think you should consider the week long one. Talk to your teachers about a menu and what you can bring to suppliment yours with what they have scheduled. You can do something like taking a hugh batch of a soup or rice dish in case you find it is not safe for you. You also can ask to be part of the Kitchen prep staff so you can have some control...
  14. Diana, In your old topic the issue was your eyes and we said you might want to see an Opthomologist. Then you started talking about MS and Brain Damage. We then suggested a Neurologist . An Opthomologist deals with eyes and a Neurologist deals the the head. You may need to spend some time getting copies of records from all of you doctors, functional...
  15. + am taking a very low dose of hydrocortisone (20 mg cortef) and a low dose of florinef (0.1) so I am guessing it had an effect. My morning cortisol is quite high - could the meds throw it that high? My adenocorticotropic hormone is low, but I'm assuming that it's because the AM cortisol is so high.+ Nicole. Are you taking these meds to help your adrenal...
  16. Prickly, you may what to look into that statement more deeply. Not all people with Adrenal Disease have problems with their Thyroid. I would like to state that this thread was started by GFin DC to show different alternative treatments for adrenal problems. As members we should be posting treatments we have heard too and discuss them with a clear...
  17. A couple more thoughts for you all. My hubs has had Addison's for over 20 years now. At diagnosis, he was close to death in the hospital before they figured it out, his gland was barely functional . He has taken Hydrocort and Fludricort for this disease since diagnosis. Point. When you medicate or suppliment the Adrenal Gland, the gland then starts...
  18. Barty...have one of my NJoy E cigs. Its working for me.
  19. Hi gfyvr, and Welcome. Your restriction involves the number of posts and not by how long you are a member. Perhaps you would like to post more about your journey and introduce yourself to others in the Forum. That should help you get closer to getting your restriction lifted and would be great for other members to get to know you. Colleen
  20. Hi Justaglimmer, and Welcome to the Forum. I would suggest that you use soap, water and paper towels to wash the surfaces, including paint. This will remove any remaining foods that are on the surface. If your concern is that the veneer on the surfaces is scratched, then use a large cutting mat, they can be found just about anywhere and travel well...
  21. So...In the end, my beer belly won't keep me warm. One less reason to drink beer, eh? Colleen
  22. Sorry Hun. I know you've been trying to heal a long time. There must be something else going on. You'll get through all the testing. Rest when you can and eat simply. Contact the Hospital, Clinic or where ever you're getting all this done and apply for Financial Assistance now. You would be surprised what is available to people. I applied when my cancer...
  23. OMG. Hubs decided I needed to know how to shoot the shot gun this summer. Took me too this great place down the road. They had those remote ones. You tapped it with your foot and they flew out of these little buildings in front of you. Needless to say the first shot threw me on my Assets, I made it through 5 shots in total. I thought my shoulder would...
  24. Having squirrel tonight (cough cough) I mean chicken fettuccine alfredo. Colleen
  25. Good one Peter. I shall pray to the Beer gods to make it so...
