ARCHIVED Washing Dishes In The Dishwasher
GF Lover replied to gflooser's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My Hubs is a gluten lover and we have no problems. I do however, scrub and rinse dishes before they go in the dishwasher and I wipe out the utensil drawers weekly. I also use many paper towels to quickly wipe out a plate, frying pan, etc. Before I use it. My Hubs uses lots of flour so wiping out before use is a must. Good luck. -

My local store did that. Stopped carrying my product. I asked them to bring it back and they did so with limited ordering and letting me know the day the order arrived. They also found out I wasn't the only un happy camper. -
ARCHIVED When You Have A Reaction, How Do You Cope At Work Or When Driving?
GF Lover replied to mommyto2kids's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Does the school have a Dept. Head for teachers or some type of go between person? Maybe a Human Relations Dept. You have to start your conversation somewhere. I wouldn't advise trying to hide the issue or anything. It's just a fact that needs to be dealt with. You can do it. No problem. -
To Bella and BubbaMom. I would like to ask how you are progressing with your skin cancers. Are they Melanomas or a different kind. Did they get it completely excised out with no further attention needed? Etc. Any thing you want to share would be appreciated.

So Crackers, my 5 year old goes to the vet this morning for teeth cleaning and suspected gum disease. I call at 2pm to check on him after his ordeal, they put them under for this procedure. The nurse says "oh he did just fine and you can pick him up after 3 and by the way, WE PULLED NINE TEETH THAT WE'RE DISEASED. WWWHHHAAATTT? So hubs picks me... -
ARCHIVED Gluten And My Depression Experience
GF Lover replied to Erin80's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Lisa, I promise, I didn't mean to get in anyone's face about this. It's a sensitive issue for me as it sounds like for you too. I can appreciate that. Sometimes I'll read something to my husband while I'm ranting and he calmly takes my playbook from me. It's okay because I do it to him to lol. I met my husband in a psych ward 5 years ago... -
ARCHIVED Gluten And My Depression Experience
GF Lover replied to Erin80's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think you guys might want to walk into a psychiatric ward and ask that question to the residents. Maybe that guy sitting there on the couch? Oh wait, he won't know because he lost most of his memories from ECT. What about that girl in the corner? She looks normal, opps, she still feels the fire burning her from 5 years ago. The list goes on. Psychiatric... -
ARCHIVED Interesting Observation - Coffee
GF Lover replied to troykm's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Say 5 Hail Marys and celebrate with a coffee cake. Or. Chant for 10 minutes and make a coffee cake. Or. Read Revolations and make a coffee cake. Or. Knee toward Jerusalem and bow to Allah. Then make the coffee cake. Or. Just make a coffee cake and eat it -

ARCHIVED Now Dairy Free As Well?
GF Lover replied to lynxigirl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi Lexigirl. I also realized after a month or so that milk is a problem. I just stick to my whole foods diet. I eat alot of salads. For my salads I use a spring mix of greens, a hard boiled egg, (I make hard boiled eggs a bunch at a time for salads and for snacks) meat that I've already cubed, lots of sunflower seeds, cherry tomatoes, and a Dairy... -
ARCHIVED Weight Loss..constant Struggle
GF Lover replied to AmyB22's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi Amy. I'm new myself. The only advice I can give is to stay strictly with whole foods, naturally gluten free. No processed foods at all. This will also make sure trace gluten is not getting to you thru food (thinking of the brain fog) Also is Dairy or another ingredient causing you trouble? Just things to think about. Good luck to you. -
Same here. I kinda just lost the urge to eat and struggle to get 1 meal in me. I try to have a protein packed smoothie regularly.

ARCHIVED Growing Garlic
GF Lover replied to GF Lover's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Wow gluten-free, that link is great. My Dining Room has a southern exposure and I have a glass couch table that would be perfect to put in front of the windows. Do you get seeds at a store like Walmart or other stores or I guess even online. I can't wait to get this going. I've been collecting pots already. Thanks gluten-free. I appreciate... -

ARCHIVED Growing Garlic
GF Lover posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Has anyone successfully grown garlic indoors? I would like to start an herb garden indoors. If anyone has experience and/or advice it is greatly appreciated. Also, what common herbs can be started from seed instead of plant. I know already that I would like garlic, chives and ummmm, I have no clue about the rest. Thanks for your responses. -
