  1. I never stray from the Mirage and I eat there safely. I go to the Carnegie Deli for lunch and have their pastrami or corned beef. You can take your own bread with you and make your own sandwiche. There is so much meat that my hubby and I share one order. We just ask them to put the reg. bread on another plate. We also met broncobux last Sunday at...
  2. I was so glad to finally read this thread and realize that you are safely home. Everyone was indeed worried. As far as your Mom's temper tantrums. If she stays TOTALLY gluten free, you and her might notice that they will go away. I used to throw some dandies, along with breaking small stuff within reach of the tantrum. As I was losing my temper, I...
  3. Sweet n Low does not bother me at all. It is the only one I use.
  4. Happy Birthday Patti. May this be a wonderful birthday with lots of gluten free delights. I also want to take this time to thank you for all the wonderful cooking advice you have given me. But, especially for telling me about Dari-free milk. I could not live without that milk. Love and Hugs to a very special person.
  5. Steve, I hope today is a better day for you and that your symptoms have decreased. Please let us know how you are doing. As you already know - we all care.

    ARCHIVED Pf Chang's

Even tho it is not on the gluten-free menu, I order gluten-free fried rice EVERY time I go. At one place I am able to order the combo fried rice with Chicken, beef, pork and shrimp. At the other PF Changs they can only put in the chicken and shrimp as they have already dusted the pork and beef. It really is gluten-free, but ask the manager to check with...
  7. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Chris (again). His girlfriend is taking him out to a very special dinner tonight. My husband and I are having dinner with Chris and his girlfriend in LV on March 4th. I always love to see him.

ARCHIVED Feeling Fed Up With Celiac

It depends on the person as to how fast they react to the diet. It is normal to question the results. You can never have a false positive on the blood test, but you can have a false negative. You did not say if you were having the endoscope or not. If you are, then you must eat gluten for 3 to months prior to the biopsies. The endoscope can not rule...
  9. Welcome to the forum. Just remember that we never consider any question a dumb question. We have been there, so don't be afraid to ask.
  10. My thoughts and prayers are with your sister. Hopefully you will have some answers soon.
  11. Welcome to the board. I had the majority of your symptoms for over 30 years. Plus, I would get what I called mini flu's several times a month with vomiting. I could never get anyone to take me seriously. I was 50 to 60 pounds overweight and worked out daily. Then about 4 years ago, I became what they call the classic Celiac when I started dropping...
  12. I have tried all of the US ones and the New Grist is a lighter taste so you might have them order that one. It is made by Lakefront Brewery, in Milwaukee. I drink the AB RedBridge at the local bar as they ordered a case for me and put it in the cooler. No, I hardly ever go to the bar, but sometimes I do go on Bike Night's with hubby. So, I do have beer...
  13. I have a Mocha Latte a couple of times a week (am allergic to casein, but addicted to my Latte). The Mocha is gluten free. I have bought the bottled Starbucks Fraps in the past and they are also gluten free.
  14. Rachel, did I read this right. That you are also allergic to molds, besides Lyme disease. the reason I ask, is that if you go to the library often, you might want to wear a painter's mask (a good one). I am allergic to dust mites and mold and never thought of the library, until I did not do one of my hurry in and out visits. I reacted before I even left...

    ARCHIVED Las Vegas

I am going to Las Vegas on 3/2 and I never take my own food. I stay at the Mirage and eat only there. Kokomo's and Stack are fully aware of gluten free eating. At both the chef will come out and talk to you, if you ask. I have lunch at Carnegie Deli and get the corned beef or pastrami. My hubby and I ask for the meat on one plate and the bread on another...

    ARCHIVED Doctor In Phoenix

There is a fantastic GI doctor in Mesa. His name is David Leff. He would probably just talk to you and find out your previous symptoms. He would not be able to say if you were a Celiac, but could probably tell if you were gluten intolerant. He puts some of his patients on the gluten-free diet, even if the blood tests come back negative. He is really...
  17. The brand name Pedialyte is gluten-free. I don't know about generic.
  18. The sum total I knew was zip. I had never heard of Celiac and did not even know what gluten was. My doctor told me to go on the internet and learn as he did not think a nutritionist would know much either. And he knew nothing about how the diet works.
  19. What do you mean, in that I cannot ask her any embarassing questions about you? I just started a list. You mean I have to throw it away - that sucks big time.
  20. That is great news and glad that you shared it with us.
  21. Thanks Tanya for taking the time to keep us updated on how Megan did in surgery. She is a fighter. So glad that she is recovering so well. You always have my prayers and well wishes.
  22. My doctor gives me an RX for diflucan with every antibiotic RX. I get oral thrush every time I take antibiotics. Get the diflucan RX and you will have prompt relief.
  23. I take Citrucel caplets and I have never had a problem with them.
