    rachel: I'm working on it, and get back to you asap. i know there are numerous people on here who have misinterpreted their results because of the way they are presented on enterolab's results page....that being said, I'm not saying you have or haven't, haha!

    thank you for clarifying, jestgar. that is the one point that i didn't copy directly out of the book and look what it got me "95% of patients with celiac disease have hladq2 and most of the remaining 5% have HLA-DQ8" (hence, not all, like Jestgar noted) and, the thing is, i knew this...i have written before about how these two genes don't completely...

    there are various reports out on the actual predominance of the genes in the population. But, they are all pretty similar and point to the fact that identified, classic Celiac genes (dq2 and 8) are common. sorry to re-post this from another thread, but this reference is from 2006 (see the title of book in my signature): Dr. Green writes about the genetics...

    amber, your doctor is giving you incorrect information. one week will not be enough to rule OUT celiac. if you test positive, then you have it (and will probably be underestimated). however, if you test negative, you can't say that you don't have it. have you had positive bloodwork? Laura

    Ellen, i am sorry you are going through all of that. I honestly don't know anything about the computer chip, I am sorry I hope it is "resolved" soon though. I would definitely call on Monday to discuss this...and make sure they "get it" and don't blow you off! Do you have a good doctor who knows about EGID/EOS/EE? if you have ee or another type...

    well, even if they are "only" doing an endoscopy, you need to specifically request that they take multiple biopsies in multiple places in his esophagus, stomach, and small intestine (they can do all through an EGD). bad news....if the tests are negative, it doesn't mean that it rules out EGIDs since he has many of the allergens out.     Lisa's assessment is correct. Also, the FDA mandates labeling laws, beyond just the 8 main allergens. If something is 100% pure, then it just says "Cornstarch" (Or, "SUGAR" or, "ROSEMARY") and can say it on the front, etc. It doesn't have to specifically say Ingredients: Cornstarch. But, once another ingredient is added, then they have to list...
