  5. Donna, Please call about your ranges. Seriously, every lab is different, because they all use different to slightly different testing measures. The ones you are seeing (below 10) is from Enterolab, and he uses a MUCH different measure. Also, even if they are done the same, it might depend on the units...so a 100 on one test would be the same as 1 on another...
  6. if you are still looking for "ideas" you should check out mccormick.com (the people who make all the spices and seasonings). Search for recipes under breakfast....even if it has to be modified, thats where I used to get a lot of my ideas. (Can you tell I miss yummy breakfast foods?! I want to come over!)
  7. its also not FULL anethesia (sp?) that they use, but a heavy sedation. (to the general person, it doesn't mean to differentiate, because you are "out"...but still) I've had two endoscopies, plus a colonoscopy, a flex sigmoidoscopy, etc etc---they aren't bad, honestly.

ARCHIVED Can You Please Help Me?

I know absolutely nothing about TX, I am sorry I can't help. But, here is what I found on the GIG (Gluten Intolerance Group) webpage for support groups in TX. If there is one near you, I am CERTAIN you could call them and they could help refer you somewhere. Even if they aren't but "so" close, they still might be able to help!!!!!!!!!! (www.gluten.net...
  11. You can always serve bacon on the side...I know you probably won't be able to eat it, but then its something everyone else can have if you are worried about filling them up with yummy food! What about homemade hash browns/potatoes? I used to LOVE those! (Cook in a little bit of olive oil-not butter (I actually used to bake them the night before, then cut...
  12. The other theory is slightly different than the villi issue. It has to do with leaky gut (a mechanism believed to be behind Celiac)...basically, your cells in your intestine don't seal completely, meaning certain proteins get through (noticably, gluten)....for some of us, we might have a "super" leaky gut and other proteins get through that should not...
  13. pasta: try the Tinkyada (rice based) pasta...it is hands down (well, to most of us!) the best. I love it. keep us updated!
  14. I am laughing over demon braces (because thats what I thought at first!) and 250 lb miracle whip man. EWWWWWWWWW. Carla, I hope your braces ease up on you! xoxo
  15. I don't need an article to tell me a crumb will or won't make me sick...I get sick on tiny, tiny amounts. So no amount of "carefulness" is too much!!!!! You are your only (and best) advocate for your health. You must take care of yourself. Honestly, who cares what other people think when you are in bed or in the bathroom, sick as a dog, for days? Its...
  16. Fatty diarrhea that floats on the top is a sign of malabsorption.
  17. something else to think of----and I know it sucks to even think about it----but the more I cut out, the more I realized I was reacting to. What have you been eating now that you have found out about your intolerances? but yes, the spaghetti part--- that is enough, unfortunately. feel better!!!!!
