  1. MANY chains who post their menu do not post their prices because 1. they may change and 2. they may vary based on location. So, no, its not a ritzy restaurant.
  2. cbs evening news...national news usually comes on at 6:30 (after the 6:00pm local news) Some places it comes on at 7 (those who have full one hour 6:00 local news...but usually that is only in bigger markets)
  3. Open Original Shared Link this is a recent article of interest to this topic.
  4. I just made another batch of my 'ice cream' --- not ice cream at all, but its my only version of a cold/sweet treat. Will be ready by the morning. Yay! Patti, my next avatar (which we be in like five months when I get things unpacked!) will be of one of my cats, Sully---the one that looks very similar to yours. Usually when I post I have either Toby...
  5. honestly, I don't know!!! Their nurse is so knowledgable and helpful. I would call first thing in the morning and talk to her (or have her call you back). I bet she will be able to give you an answer that will help you make your decision. good luck! Laura

  7. Anyone watching Grey's? I LOVE THIS SHOW! Speaking of good hair....why do they all have great hair even in the hospital?! I love Meredith's big scene at the end when she tells them what is on her mind....and then takes the ice cream. Mmmm....McDreamy, McSteamy, and Ice Cream-y. Mmmmm good combo. Yummy. (rachel, happy to have you over here. I invited...

  9. Richard is correct, it is McCann's. It is grown in fields where wheat is not grown, and processed on equipment that is not shared by wheat (these two places are where the contamination usually happens). However, the problem for *some* is due to the fact that the oat protein is very similiar in structure to the gluten protein. So there are two main issues...
  10. hannahsue, Obviously there is much more at play than just genetics, otherwise why would some families have "lots" of Celiacs and others have none. And, statistics refer to a general population, not individual families. Leading Celiac experts recommend that all first degree relatives of Celiacs are tested. In terms of the latest research, Dr Fasano...

ARCHIVED Doctor In Maryland (dc Metro)

Dr. Alessio Fasano is one of the LEADING Celiac experts and researchers in America, and around the world. He is at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and has his own Celiac branch. www.celiaccenter.org. I would highly recommend him, from everything I have heard and read about him and his research. Unfortunately, most doctors do not know much about...
  12. Lea and Perrins in America is safe. Not sure if thats available in Canada?
  13. I do not know of one offhand, but I swear I saw a posting of a recipe for a "mock" soy sauce recipe on this board at one point. Maybe someone remembers and can post the link? Its hard, I know! Hopefully someone can help out. good luck!
  14. I sympathize with you, I'm in a similar boat! Almost all pre-packaged foods, as you know (including store bought chickens, which can be SO yummy), even if they are gluten free, have soy in them. Its frustrating. I don't have a lot of good advice. just wanted to say that I understand and I know its frustrating and annoying. My best advice, which...
  15. Keep us updated, Lynne. I'd definitely be interested to know how this all plays out. xoxo
  16. Ian, I've always enjoyed your posts. Hope you are having a wonderful gluten free birthday! Laura
  17. Thanks, Donna. I got the strength to post my shortened "sob story" (as I jokingly refer to it as) on the OMG thread. Already have some responses. Thanks for the encouragement! hope all you ladies are having a great day!
  18. Susan, See my signature for all the million and one things that I have since cut out. It's a bland diet that I am living on right now. I'm extremely sensitive to even derivatives of these foods, plus many unidentified things. Maybe I'll check out the OMG thread. Thanks, girl. I haven't posted much about it because its been so overwhelming... Laura
