  1. I must have misread it, then. I thought you had corrected it to update it regarding gluten free labeling. My mistake!
  2. Thanks for editing your earlier post for clarification, FF.
  3. Actually, no ruling has been made. http://www.csaceliacs.org/FDADefinitionofG...reeLabeling.php And, the proposed ruling is 20 ppm, not 200. There is NO regulation on gluten free at this time. http://celiacdisease.about.com/od/glutenfr...ng/a/FALCPA.htm
  4. Without having the biopsy done, its pretty hard to say. Also, if they didn't run the total IgA test (esp on you, since your tTG IgA and AGA IgA were negative), its hard to say if the testing was as accurate as can be. Based on your sons positive AGA IgA, it would appear he is not IgA deficient (which can make IgA based testing inaccurate).
  5. Nope - and it was absolutely delicious.
  6. I think your etiquette is delightful and I'm happy you have joined the forum - its such a great place! I'll send you a PM.
  7. Mastiffmommy - You may want to do some searches for more information, as the information you have is not the full story. If you need more info, feel free to PM me! I'm sorry for hijacking this thread....back to super sensitive Celiacs --------- By the way, has anyone else on here attempted to eat at Uno's? They now have gluten free pizza...
  8. Plates in my kitchen are, by default, equipment that has wheat made on it.
  9. I set a bunch of posts to invisible, and ask that members be nice to each other. I'll keep setting it to invisible and issue warnings at that point. If you have something to discuss, please continue it here, on topic, or in another thread, in a respectful manner, or via PM. PMs are subject to all board rules, as well.
  10. Remember that the "majority" and "minority" often spoken of here only applies to those who speak up - and does not necessarily reflect views of all members. Sometimes the loudest voices appear to be the majority (on any topic). Often the disagreements here ensue not because of the "topic" but the "tone."
  11. I would recommend that you call the GI's office and ask to speak to a nurse about these questions. They may want to do further testing for Celiac, and the patient must still be consuming gluten. Hopefully they can shed some light on this, and schedule your appointment quickly!
  12. There are many threads about this, but a brief update: Celiac associations have tested them, declared them safe, McDonald's policy is that they are fried in dedicated fryers, and they are not sprinkled with gluten. All that being said, there are always risks with eating out, and it is a personal decision.
  13. Mainstream oats and oatmeal are not safe for those with Celiac. There are some specialty brands of oats that are processed in a manner safe for those with Celiac. Even with that scenario, there is a percentage of Celiacs that cannot tolerate even safe oats, as the protein in oats is similar to gluten.
  14. Nope - they don't see it - only you see it when you are logged in.
  15. That describes our experiences - mainly the crumbs and the grit. All that being said - I still enjoyed TS flours. The differences between TS and BB are fairly minor, but enough for me to have a preference. Its wonderful that we have MULTIPLE really, really good gluten free flours on the market.
  16. How long have you been gluten free?
  17. I don't have the answer, but have seen this topic referenced: "Celiac disease is the result of an immune response to gluten. Gluten exclusion removes the antigen that stimulates CD4 T-cell-mediated tissue damage in the gut, but does not remove the immune response. In fact, gluten exclusion may heighten the immune response stimulated by gluten since regulatory...
  18. Get copies of your results - post them here - some tests are 'better' (i.e., more sensitive and specific) than others. The tests do not all correlate 1:1, so you wouldn't necessarily test positive on all of them (which is why there isn't just one test - none are perfect).
  19. Soy in itself does not contain gluten, and is gluten free. As you mentioned, some products that are soy based, often have wheat/gluten in it (like soy sauce).
  20. Here's the updated list as of 1/25 Open Original Shared Link
  21. Yes, it has xanthan gum. All the ingredients are listed on their website (www.betterbatter.org) so that you can check them out.
  22. I've yet to see anything of importance posted here - that's why its good for laughs Happy to see you on here, Susan. Stick around and make yourself at home!
  23. Do you know which tests were run for Celiac, and which were negative? Sometimes doctors don't always order the right tests. If you have a copy of the lab results, post them here.
  24. As are Coke products.
  25. Are you purchasing it online from www.betterbatter.org? Shipping is not $40 for me. I didn't purchase it, but went through the steps, and shipping was $5. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
