  1. For me it's 20 minutes to a day but the effects will often keep cropping up every few days for a while. It is possible that you are still feeling the effects of the pizza although unusual if the first symptoms took 4-5 days to appear. I hope you feel better.
  2. Celiac disease can cause arthralgias too. I am one who gets pain that my rheumy thinks is celiac caused but my GP thinks is rheumatic. There are a few around here who have found that the gluten-free diet has helped in various types of arthritis but it seems to takes many months to years for the gluten-free diet to positively affect things. If you need a...
  3. Lol You are so right Renaye, I already have three. I am glad you have found help with the plaquenil. I hope the gluten-free diet is able to help too.
  4. I am not sure my symptoms are from celiac either. They could be.....I think I was an undiagnosed celiac for a minimum of thirty years so I'm sure I messed up some stuff along the way. It is trickier to figure it out when the symptom is not coming from a "glutening" but just showing up for no good reason, or because I did too much, or just spent too much...
  5. If your kids test negative, keep in mind that they should be retested every opulent of years because celiac disease can develop at any time and often goes symptomless. Good luck with the tests.
  6. Hmmm. Most people do not have a bunch of positive scores on tests it seems. That would exclude a LOT, I would guess at least half, of the people around here... I don't know, it's almost like saying that you are not truely pregnant until you get at least two different positive tests. Besides, you have had a positive response to the gluten-free diet right...
  7. L-Glutamine is not a digestive enzyme but it helps with muscle/intestinal healing. I just mention it because it will be sold in the same stores that sell the enzymes. Best wishes.
  8. Udi's is the best we can find but even then, they prefer it as toast.
  9. I got more symptoms as time went by. As a child it was stomachaches,"c", and sore knees. In my teens, the GI symptoms were less but I started getting headaches. In my twenties, I had the symptoms continue. Stomach aches and headaches grew worse. I started getting arthralgias and a lot of bronchial or sinus infections. Also got a bad back. In my thirties...
  10. I had a lot of headaches in my first few weeks gluten-free. I think it was withdrawal. If she has been gluten-free for six weeks, I doubt withdrawalus the problem. Hopefully someone else here can help. Welcome to the board.
  11. If the kids continue to have stomach issues while consuming lactose free dairy, you might even want to drop all dairy for a few months. It won't hurt them it will just be a habit to break. And I agree that there is a good chance of cc in your home unless you are very careful. Old sugar containers that may have been double dipped with wheat flour, baking...
  12. Good dairy rant. And I agree with all of it. There really is no biological need to drink a cow's breast milk. Eliminating it is worth a shot. There could be another food intolerance. Corn, rice, soy and nightshades are often culprits as well as artificial colouring or sweeteners. Perhaps keeping a food and symptom journal will help you sort out what...
  13. I have heard that steroids can affect celiac endoscopic testing but I have no idea where or if it is even correct... Perhaps others can point you in the right direction on that. It sounds like you have a reasonable plan for the celiac testing. Perhaps you can contact your doctor about the effect the steroids will have on testing? Perhaps contact the doctors...
  14. Nah, I managed to boil my kettles off while I was up and about in the house, walking by it repeatedly. It has no whistle, just lots of steam. LOL
  15. I have had some ongoing health problems for many years that I am trying to find answers for. I am a serologically diagnosed celiac who has been gluten-free for 11 months. I have hypothyroidism for which I have been trying to reach an ideal treatment for about 9 months. I also previously suspected I had a rheumatological problem but a rheumy has ruled that...
  16. That bear waves back better than my stubborn kids did when they were toddlers. LOL I have a heavy duty kettle that has survived a boil off a few times... it's a bit discoloured now... has character.
  17. I think H. Pylori can cause stomach pain and ulcers in some people. It appears you have ulcers so that will cause you some problems. For people who have peptic ulcers, I believe it is recommended that the H. Pylori is erradicated. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link I do not believe that it can cause vertigo, dizziness, joint pain...
  18. Looks good to me. I don't know what a "Celiac Disease Complete Panel" is, but the others are the most recent, most specific, and when you combine them, the most sensitive celiac blood tests out there. Unless you are one of the small minority who serologically test negative (to me it appears to be somewhere between 5-15% of all celiacs), those tests should...
  19. Excellent news! Good luck!
  20. That is so true! LOL This is what I felt when I read that; Thanks again, Lisa. You've been a great support. It's amazing how much people I have never actually met have been a help to me.
  21. Ooooh, you're close to that finish line! Hang in there. Mybe try eating your gluten in the evening so it doesn't wreck your day... just your night. In the final stretch, it's time to enjoy those last "glutenous" treats. A Blizzard with oreos, beer, cinnamon buns, and picking any food off a menu without worrying... Choose foods that almost make the pain...
  22. I'm sorry it affected your race but congrats on competing! Awesome! I've never problems with water beyond some "D" so I'm not sure which is more likely for you. I would guess it was gluten if you have the same old symptoms. Hope you feel well soon.
  23. LOL I coach my boys soccer team and I am constantly mixing up the kids names. It's gotten to the point where they don't respond immediately when I call out instructions because they are waiting to see how I'll correct myself first.
  24. Thanks Marcus. I agree, I am a celiac and have been for my entire life. I have absolutely no doubt about it, and I don't plan on ever doing a gluten challenge so I can be scoped for that "gold standard" proof. I know that my ANA could have been caused by ITP. I was going to say it could be caused by my Hashimoto's too but apparently according to her...
