  13. Okay, if the numbers look like Celiac, why the biopsy? If you really insist on it, fine, but I would recommend going gluten-free as soon as the biopsy is done, not until after the dr gets the results. I've read that there are more chances for a false negative on that because the biopsy may not get to where there is damage in your small intestine.
  14. I was dx's nine years ago by the gluten-free diet. But I'm in the very small minority of celiac disease sufferers - I had had D for only 6 weeks before I went to my gp.   15. All baking powders are basically corn starch and bicarbinate of soda (that's the rising part) There shouldn't be much else added to it. My non-big name baking powder also has sodium aluminum sulfate and acid phosphate of calcium. All naturally gluten-free.

The gluten-free diet is very simple in principal, but hard at times to execute. And if medicos, dietitians and nutritionists don't understand it, how can we as lay people get our minds to grasp it?   23. I would recommend the gluten-free diet, but not until the blood is drawn. Then go home and start it right away. It's really pretty simple in theory - do not ingest wheat, wheat products, barley, barley products (malt), rye and unless you can get 100%guaranteed non cross-contaminated oats, stay away from them too.
