Colemans is the best and gluten free.

Triumph Dining cards seem to be what you need. They are a series of about 5 or 6 laminated dining card in 5-6 languages. I keep mine in my wallet and have used it many time successfully.
They can be ordered on line.
Hope this was helpful.

Rachel and Nancy:
Thank you so much for sharing your research with us. I have tried to understand what you have written, although I have been in a deep fog recently.
My gluten reactions are rare these days, but I have a serious problem with malabsorption. Back to the B-12 shots again.
Which leads to ask of few questions"
1. Can Leaky gut can result in elevated liver enzymes and a high white blood count?
2. With no evidence of recent gluten autoimmune reaction, if Candida is present in the gut, will absorption of the good stuff be hindered into the blood causing malabsorption?
I was feeling so good and recently I am back to the fatigue, gait issues and really have the tongue thing going on.
Thank you for your advise.

Many of us have enjoyed McCormicks, it is gluten free. But, most are, due to distillation process in the alcohol.

Didn't Jersey Angel do a thread on the 'new forum features' or is this what your talking about or other issues?
judy
HEY JUDY,
I WAS JUST REFERING TO THIS CURRENT THREAD. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY GOOD THOUGHTS ON THIS THREAD, I JUST THOUGHT THAT IT MIGHT BE HELPFUL TO COMBINE IT INTO ONE COMMON THREAD.
THE TOPIC IS NO LONGER WHAT THE THREAD REVIELDS ( Another Morf)
WHATEVER IT SHALL BE.
-
I don't use it, but there may be a www. information on the bottle/container.
I always feel better when I get a confirmation from the company. Cosmetics and personal products have these mega words that no one other that a chemist could tell.

Once again, this thread has ventured off into left field. There are many valid points that are being made currently in the later part of this thread, as well as the early posts.
With Karen's permission, who began this thread, I am wondering if a new thread could be started regarding "How to Improve the Forum" or other. Certainly, not to single out a poster, but in general, how can we get together to meet the needs of each other and those that are new to us and share information that is our general concern which is good health. We all have a common bond. And, without saying, we have very distinct personalities.
I do not think that Srokie will return. It was an intense weekend for many of us. Maybe it may be time to close this thread and post to voices that have current concerns. Concerns which are apparent in the later of this thread.
Thoughts always welcome.
Lisa
PS: darn, (not my choice of words ) I LOVE spell check.
-
AGAIN!? Lisa, try some waxed paper. That might work better than a paper towel,
-
There's spell check? So that's why Momma Goose has been spelling everything correctly!
JUST KIDDING LISA!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know how much you wanted spell check! LMAO!
Karen, Lisa doesn't need spell check: she has me. She went to a fancy, high rent high school in high rent McLean, Va. and I went to a small country school, with no indoor plumbing, in Podunk, Jerkwater Junction, NC. But we were taught to spell. To Lisa, animals live in a zooz, fish live in the see, you fly in a plain, ride in a kar, and she has a some problem with her innerds, known as seliak. Her elementary school teacher, that taught her to spel, must have been sniffing some good stuf!!!! bon soir, Jim
Gosh, you gotta love him or hate him. I'm debating this fact as we speak.
He was invited by my request. No future post will come from this randon guy.

This is a great thread.
I just got back home from a local restaurant (in a town of 6,000). The staff knows me, the kitchen knows me, my daughter works there part time while in college and I assumed.
I ordered something that was proven safe for me to eat. But, I did not identify myself to the new waitress, and further to the chief who is well acquainted with my diet ,although my daughter was eating with us.
I ordered my safe meal ( as i have checked with the cheif when business was quiet and we could talk )and when served it had a BIG POPOVER sitting on top of my graved meal. There was no indication that a popover would be plopped on top of my meal.
I sent it back, with apologies, (as my daughter works there) and was served a clean meal.
Moral of the story is, always make yourself known to the server, the manager and the chief.
It is so frustrating for us and perhaps the service provider.

What's interesting in all this is how insidious cliques can be. I have felt *slightly* left out of the board because I'm not a part of it. I'm not a part of most PMing things that go on, the friending thing that started when our board got upgraded, and lots of the other clique-y things. But that's because I don't participate in it myself. (Ok, it could be my personality too, but I don't even get a "nice try" because I don't really 'try'.
) You can't get into a social circle without time and effort, and some of us choose not to spend our time that way. (I never could get into the 'in crowd' anyway.
)
Shut, I spent a great deal of time in high school trying to get into the in-crowd. As I expect that most of us did. I arrived as a Senior. I looked around and said to myself, "for this?"
It sent me on a new road when I went to college, just to be myself. I have some life long friends.

I have had no problems. Well, not related to that issue.

While I was looking into this thing called Celiac Disease that I was told I have----a while ago.
,
it showed up quite often as symptoms. I do recall it in several of the book that I purchased.
If there is a need for the exact reference, I will try to do that tomorrow.
I would assume that it could be googled.
Yeah, buttless, Lisa
-
I am not certain about this, but there may be a link with elevated liver emzynes, elevated white blood count with Leaky Gut. Syndrome/Disease.
-
Just before my hubby got dx with celiac disease he found it highly painful to stand as his feet hurt so much - and the lack of padding in the butt area led to bed sores (ouch!)
His bodyshape is slightly better now (60 pounds heavier after 2 yrs gluten-free) but does still kind of have those proportions.
My son (who was only dx in Oct 06) has the same bodyshape.
Skinny arms, bloated belly ,flat butt!
Yup, that's me. If I could turn my torso around l80 degrees, I'd have a pretty darn good figure.

Thanks richard:
I guess no more sticky buns
-
If you are concerned about the side effects of the Pill, there are many new IUD's or Rings that may be available to you. Don't know personally, way way past that.
-
One of the symptoms of celiac is loss of padding of the butt and also on the bottom of the feet.
I have no bottom and most of the time I have to sit on pillows. With no padding, I can get terrible back aches because of the compression of the spine.
I also awake in the morning with leg aches from no padding on my feet.
It is really hard to build up muscle. I guess I just need botox for my buttock.

Tell me about it.....
You came on just after all this went down......
He even came back to haunt us a few more times under different names, including masquerading as a woman. Was NOT a good time around then for me......... for some reason, he singled me out and unleased numerous personal attacks on me (and celiac3270 also.....).
I guess it takes all kinds to make the world go round.....
Karen:
Was CeliacChap the same as Julia's Husband and then morfed into the guy that was after me?

Welcome Back Chelsea.
It is nice to get an update about you.
Lisa
-
Thanks Phyllis for your repy.
My guess is that it is a b-12 issue and related to celiac, but not a gluten issue.
-
Lisa:
It's a breeze, no need to worry. Let us know when the time comes close. Ya know we'll be there for you.

thank you crissy and laura...

Some questions for your guys.
I have been gluten free for well over a year. And I seem to be stuck. My gait feels labored. My hands still tremble a little. Typing has become difficult. ( as evident in my short posts, but that may be a good thing ). I seem to have lost my alertness (big concern), I speak when spoken to and not much voluntary conversation. And just an overall feeling like I have one oar in the water. Around and around and getting no where.
Could this be a B-12 difficiency?
Could this be congnitive damage from Celiac?
Could this be Thyroid symptoms?
Could this be adrenal fatigue or failure?
Any thoughts would be welcome.
Thank you,
Lisa

Connie:
I just looked this up. Cambell's USA Chicken Broccoli Cheese Chunky, 18 oz is listed as gluten free.
As Laura said, Progresso Cream of Muchroom is a staple in our house. It is good on it's own with a little cream sherry in it.
THE CAMPBELL SOUP INFORMATION IS NOT GLUTEN FREE FOR CANADIAN, JUST US.
Hope this helps.
