AsH:
I think that it is very irresponsible for your doctor to mention "all those bad" things without investigating. No wonder why you are scared to death. ....and on the phone as well. (excuse me, but he was an ass, with no bedside manner)
I would suggest that you write down a food diary. Write down everything that you eat and watch for a reaction. You may have an additional food allergy that is effecting your digestive system. Many new celiacs has an intolerance to diary. Try to eliminate that for a while. I can eat McD's fried, but don't tolerate milkshakes. It sounds like there is some hidden gluten getting into your system.
You also must check your lotions, shampoo, lipstick, toothpaste, nail polish, ie. anything that could find it's way into your mouth. Just licking stamps, will cause a gluten reaction. I don't know what you do work/home, but wash your hands often.
And, believe me, stress can reak havock on your system. So take a deep breath and re-group.
Start with the little things, before the big ones.

I have been gluten free (96% with accidents) for 14 months now, and I can't function without my omeprizol/prilosec.
My biopsy indicated gastritis, large hiatal hernia, and bluting of the villi. I suspect the the hernia is the cause of the gastritis. I suppose that I should get it fixed, but I be chicken.

Here's the good news....the Celiac Sprue Association came out with a revised statement, "All distilled liquors should be gluten free, due to the distilling process." But, a warning, your tolerance will not be what it was before your were gluten free. Choose wisely.
I am sorry to say, that I will have to ammend my post. I usually drink Seagram's 7 and 7-up without issue. During a Christmas Party 24 hours ago, I was served Jim Beam and 7-up.....needless to say, I won't do that again.
Please be cautious this holiday season.

Thank you for posting that. Swanson's Chicken and Beef Broths are also gluten free. (Organic Swanson's are NOT gluten free).

Wow! I think I'd invite you to dinner, Lisa--I'll bet you've got some great stories
Thanks, but my Dad wore a lot of hat in his career and it was wonderful to experience that. I was raise in Washington DC, or close. I worked on Capitol Hill when I became a big girl. (Now that, I can tell some stories !!!!!!!)
But the Walter and Betsy story is ALL mine. Betsy passed away several years ago. But it was so wonderful to have them in our home, as they were so down to earth people. They have dinned with Kings, Queens, Presidents and at our dinner table, they were just like neighbors down the street. The pleasure was truely ours.
OK enough said, before I get these

Have you checked your lipstick, lotion, shampoo and toothpaste?
Anything that can get into your mouth will add gluten to your system if not gluten free.

Are there any digestive issues in your family or your husbands. Celiac is genetic.
With that question for you, I will defer to the other mothers with children with celiac.
Hang in there until morning, the calvary will show up.

I get soreness after I have been glutened, after the diarrhea has passed. But it is nothing like you have described. Perhaps someone will post in the morning. You know the board is always slow on the weekend. I hope you can find a answer.

Jess,
I am sorry that you sister is sick. I don't know how to help, but get the the DR. in the morning. Hope she feels better soon.

I would invite:
Barbara Bush, not politically, but because she is such a wonderfully strong, but down to earth woman.
Don Rumsfeld, not politically, but because my father used to be HIS boss, and I had a mad crush on him when I was 20. (Shut, he was thirty-five and married, and he introduced me to the Prince of Saudia Arabia....so cool for me at the time)
Barbara Walters, just to ask her about everyone. And she knows all the big to-do's. I think that she would be just as elegant with just me.
(Already had Walter and Betsy Cronkite for dinner......that's another story, but it was wonderful)

KrisT:
My issues are age related. I think that way Tiffany said about it being a GYN issue, and a professional opinion would be good.
I did read here a few days ago that 90% of the fluids that we take in is through our small intestines. Perhaps, additional fluids may help a little.
I do think that you need a professional to deal with this, and I hope you find some answers.

Got a question:
I have received several e-mail notations that someone has put ME on their friends list. Do I need to approve this? I changed my selection to "receive, pending approval". How do I accept my friends, and how do I add friends to my list.
I do not see a way to create my own "friends list".
Help
BTW: Speak SLOWLY and ELEMENTARY I have attempted to use this computer as a boat anchor many, many times.

I am always looking for nautical antiques. If Ya'll come across any, please let me know. Thank

I would think that a crustless quiche would be great. You can use Hillshire sausage, or Jimmy Dean ,cheese, chives (I do love chives), green peppers, mexican peppers........top with sour cream and salsa.......do easy, it's that time of the year.

Scott:
I was curious about the "rating" with the illuminated stars, in a members profile. I did not get passed my profile, much. Well OK, I looked at a few. What is the criteria for the rating?
AND ALSO.... I posted this in the recent past. You need to publish a cookbook with all our gluten free recipes from this forum, to support this forum. We need to give back. If you can work it out, we will be there and glad to contribute.

Sue:
I know that it very difficult in the begining.
As said, Pepsi and Coke are gluten free.
I would suggest that you check "Nini", a forum member who has compiled a wonderful list for, as we call "newbies". You can down load the files that she has so graciously combined to help new celiac.
You can find her name under "members" on the top of the page. And to reach her list, click underneath her name to bring up her "Newbie Survival List". It is a wonderful gift from her and it will be invaluable to you, to start with. (Or any other post that you see her name, just click on her name)
But, as history tells, she will be here soon to help out.
It does get easier, trust me.

When I was sick, with the yucky yellow stools, it also was accompanied by a GREAT deal of acid. This may explain the rash around his privates, especially if he is still in diapers. I would suggest that his mom check into celiac, or do an elimination diet.
But, I do hope that he feels better soon.

Hey Wendy:
Welcome to the forum. You will find a vast amount of information here.
I do not have blatter issues, but you may try to do a search here on the forum. Find the search area and type in blatter issues. Perhaps you can find some old posts, with the information your requested.
Just want to let you know that sometimes on the weekend, the site is quiet. Mondays get active.
Glad you have found us.

I would suggest that you e-mail www.Perdue.com and they will most likely have a "contact us" that you can click and request a list of their gluten free products. Most large companies will get back to you fairly quickly. I am assuming that you are in the US and most likely on Christmas break. That may be a good time to write some companies to get a portforlio of their safe products.
But please remember, often companies change their ingredience to "improve"
their products. So their list will be only good for a period of time before you need to re-check.
Good luck at school and if we can help further, always feel free to ask.

All of Boar's Head meats and cheeses are gluten free and the best that I have had, as well as Hillshire Farms. I believe Oscar Meyer is, but I don't buy it.

Anyone else got these 3 fun diseases? I will have to go to university later this year and I'm kinda nervous as to how I'll cope with all of these (mainly diabetes & coeliac without my mums cooking), and I'd like to talk to someone who's done it already / going to do it... Also I'd like a heads up on any other irritating failures my body is likely to present
I assume that you are an international teen , as going to uninversity soon. Try posting in the teen section. You will find more to join you and help with your issues. And, if not, we will be here.
-
I do not know the answer to your question, but will keep it current.
-
And there is your answer, thanks Julie.
McCormick's serves us well and I choose to support them.

I should have posted this earlier:
All the little pieces are coming together and they should be ready to submit VERY soon. It is a technical process and full of lots of detail. Hopefully, within a week or so, the whole package will be sent off and submitted.
All of those who care or have written a letter, it is a gift that you bring. Thank you
Armetta, is force behind this project. Hopes and prayers could make it happen. But, lets get there first.
Lisa
I will post with any news or updates.
