That's an easy fix. Look at the top right of your page. You will see an white "Option" box. Click on it and then, click on "Standard" and it should bring you back to familiar territory. It just happens from time to time.

I keep checkin and cheering everyone on the side lines. It's really a BIG deal what you guys are doing. It will be two years in August for me and I don't ever think about it, but I understand how difficult it can be. Keep up the good work. I'm pulling for all of you. Oh, and if everyone does well, ya'll get to go to Ken's for dinner and a visit...

ARCHIVED Frustrated And Confused Mom
Lisa replied to svensmama's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Please follow your instincts. Keep your child on the gluten free diet and watch him thrive. At some point, when he is older, you can do the gene testing of you wish. But, the Serology Panel for Celiac is highly unreliable for children under the age of five. The diet does not have to be expensive and we have plenty of people to show you the ropes. This... -
ARCHIVED Should I Be Gluten Free Too?
Lisa replied to kaleesmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
That's a good question. I suppose it depends on your health history. Many people have been diagnosed with Celiac as a secondary illness to arthritis, lupus, diabetes, thyroid issues... In addition, there are several people on this Board who are asymptomatic. I believe 20% first degree relatives will develop Celiac. But, if you are otherwise healthy... -
ARCHIVED Mocha M & M's Premiums..safe?
Lisa replied to DownWithGluten's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I would have to dig into the archives of this forum to find the documentation, but I contacted a Hershey representative. I personally do not think the M&M's contain gluten (although I am not familiar with the Mocha M&M's), but I am dismayed with the response I received from Hershey and prefer not to purchase their products. -

Sorry that you're not feeling well. Wheat, by law, must be listed is used as an ingredient. I think it's doubtful that it would exist on the nuts. But you may inquire with the company to see if they also process wheat products in their manufacturing facility. -

ARCHIVED Problems Filling Up
Lisa replied to gputman's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Could you try to eat several small meals during the day, so you don't go into a main meal with hunger pangs. -
I also heard today that Al Roker mentioned that one of his daughters is trying the gluten free diet and is doing much better. Don't know what that means, but it was good to hear.

ARCHIVED Enterolab Strikes Again- Twice!
Lisa replied to Veronica2's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
According to my understanding, testing for the HLA-DQ can tell you that you MIGHT at sometime develop a variety of autoimmune diseases, such as Celiac. Although it can be a piece of the puzzle. If you do not carry the HLA-DQ genes, you cannot develop Celiac. Do your children have symptoms? You may have mentioned it, but I can't recall. Genetic... -
ARCHIVED Mocha M & M's Premiums..safe?
Lisa replied to DownWithGluten's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hershey's will not disclose their source for "Natural Flavor", which means that it might contain barley or malt. Your M&M's might be gluten free, but there is no way of knowing unless you either get sick or not. You might find it's a risk your willing to take -
I thought I would pass this information along: Celiac Colleagues: I am writing to call your attention to the current publicity surrounding the new book, The gluten-free Diet, A Gluten-Free Survival Guide by Elisabeth Hassselbeck, co-host of The View. While it is important to call attention to celiac disease, the information must be accurate

ARCHIVED Need Your Help: 100% Gluten Free Products.
Lisa replied to Gobbie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Welcome! Are you living in the US? I think you will find it difficult to find a product that claims to be 100% gluten free. Gluten free labeling in the US is voluntary, until a definition is established. Many companies will list "no gluten added", but without testing, they cannot guarantee 100% gluten free. Here is a listing of companies who... -

Yummy.. that's a keeper for my summer menu. Thank you. -
Welcome, and I have to say what a beautiful picture on your profile. Shared equipment is a trial and error. Some very sensitive may have issues, and others not. In the beginning of the diet, I would recommend that you not, just to expedite healing. Once some healing has taken place, you can slowly add things to your diet and be aware of a reaction...

ARCHIVED Things To Bring Back From Italy
Lisa replied to ChickensDon'tClap's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
How about something tall, dark and handsome with a drippy Italian accent. Pastas, lots of pasta, but I know of nothing specific. Italy is one of the most progressive countries regarding Celiac. -
I am happy that you are on the road to good health with people who care.

Lisa replied to ravenwoodglass's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
It's so sad when our young people can't feel that they can go somewhere for help in desperate times. Peace for that young man and for his parents. -
I might have commented somewhere in the past ten pages, but YES. I have no problem eating McD's fries, but always away that CC can be a high risk.
