  1. I hope that Dan finds comfort through the love and support of those around him. And strength for those who hold him up.
  2. We are close to an elderly lady, who lost her two sons tragically. We have seen her pain. Thank you for HER candle, richard. And, as Patti said so beautifully, a peaceful and joyous holiday to you and your family.
  3. This is a great site: Open Original Shared Link
  4. I was gonna say that I look pretty darn good for 54, richard!
  5. Susie, I hope this is legible enough to use. You may be able to find a better translation for Japanese Dining Cards. Open Original Shared Link It might say "serve me yeti tartar" for all I know.
  6. Many people here react to Frito/Lays Products, even though they are gluten free,. The cross contaimination during manufacturing seems to cause a problem for some.
  7. McDonalds has dedicated fryers just for the fries. Nuggets are not allowed. You can find McD's gluten free menu in the earlier section of this thread.
  8. Planters Peanut, read the label cause wheat must be listed and they aren't likely to have barley, malt or rye. Yoplait Yogurt is gluten free except for the obvious cookies and crumbs. Again, read the label and some now have gluten free labeling. All Smuckers Jelly's and Jam are gluten free. They have a great lableing policy to list all forms...
  9. Patti, I never liked bread or crackers before gluten free. Thought it all was "blah". (ain't I the lucky one )
  10. The crackers are good, but you need some cheese that "speaks" to overcome the blah. I keep a box or two in my freezer for guests.
  11. Easy.. Gluten free chutney or pepper jelly over cream cheese, served with Glutino Crackers. Cheese and fruit tray Crustless quiche squares Hillshire Farms Mini links - grape jelly and BBQ Sauce - heated in chaffing dish Marinated shrimp Grilled pork tenderloin - served with honey mustard Wheel of Brie, topped with brown sugar and sliced...
  12. California rolls can contain artificial crab meat, which is not gluten free. Most soy sauces contain gluten, except LaChoy and Wheat Free Tamari. Peoples reaction time varies widely, for almost immediate to several days. You just h ve to feel your way through it. Mine is about 24 hours.
  13. I can understand your frustration. I don't have an answer for you, but this link may offer some direction: Open Original Shared Link
  14. I still support the fact that DH is an associated risk with Celiac Disease and is not Celiac Disease. It is referred to Dermatitis Herpetiformis as a gluten response reaction in the skin, but not exclusive to Celiac. Celiac Disease reaction remains in the small intestines. But, there is a great deal of research needed. Back to the Celiac vs. Intolerant...
  15. I would assume, if the Butternut Squash Soup does not list wheat, then the modified food starch in NOT derived from wheat. Remember, barley, malt and rye CAN hide in "natural flavors". That's when you call. Campbell's has such limited option for those gluten free (except V-8 and Splash), that I just don't go there. They could do better, but don't. ...
  16. https://www.celiac.com/articles/21519/1/Spe...rmis/Page1.html Specific Gene Tied to Dermatitis Herpetiformis Celiac.com 01/08/2008 - Scientists at the University of Finland have announced the discovery of a particular gene that is tied to the development of the celiac-associated skin disease dermatitis herpetiformis, which is the form of celiac disease...
  17. If their modified food starch IS derived from wheat and it is not listed, they are in violation of the law. I think that their customer service rep is not informed.
  18. I believe that it has been proven that gluten autoimmune can cross over to other parts of the body. It no longer is called Celiac, which is exclusive to the small intestines.
  19. Just a note here - Campbell's US and Campbell's Canada have TOTALLY different gluten free listings. I believe this change is for Campbell's US gluten free products.
  20. I am often confused when doctors say "mild". What they should say, is that it was caught before major damage could accure.

ARCHIVED Group Letter to Dr. Fine

Fiddle-Faddle, It seems that you are indeed reading too much into my post. I believe Gentleheart addressed ME personally and inquire as to MY desire to sign MY name the the Dr. Fine letter. I declined politely. What more is there! Find another issue!
  22. So sorry about your brother. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
  23. I don't know your age, but I started experiencing peri-menopause symptoms, including tender breast, at age 35, several years prior to my diagnosis. It lasted a good ten years.
  24. Unflavored coffee is certainly gluten free. It can be an irritant to a compromised digestive system, especially on an empty stomach. Spraying on gluten with flavors is news to me. Can you identify that source?
