  1. Maggie, the blood panel is not 100% accurate, but the other support tests that you doctor ordered may indicate that something is "cooking". If you can handle gluten another week, try to tough it out until your results return. Your doctor may want further celiac testing (endoscopy/biopsy) or the result may lead you in another direction. Either way,...
  2. Have a wonderful time Ken and safe travels.
  3. Products change their ingredients frequently, but here is a list of companies who will clearly list all forms of gluten (as in wheat, barley, rye and malt): Open Original Shared Link Toiletries are much harder because those product are not required to list gluten. Here is a current listing of meds that are gluten free: Open Original Shared Link...
  4. What bothers me the most is that the service community can be confused about selective ordering and medically restricted ordering. It deminished the importance when I order a salad without croutons and the previous person ordered the same but accepted the croutons.
  5. I don't, but happy birthday Dave.
  6. Just make sure that they have dedicated fryers. And know that any fast food place is high risk for cross contamination.
  7. It looks like it worked. Sometimes you need to hit refresh.
  8. Hello Maggie and welcome! Here are the test that you doctor will need to request: Anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) both IgA and IgG Anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA Total IgA level. As you may know, Celiac is not all that rare as thought several years ago. One in every 133 people...
  9. I use Lubriderm (not the one with oats). It's good to take off make-up also.
  10. Alcohol can raise it, but I am sure there can be other reasons.
  11. If my memory is correct, I believe Iams is gluten free, but you may want others to confirm that. And I use Arm&Hammer cat litter. It is something to be careful about, but personally, it's not high on my priorities. Why do they put wheat/barley in cat food. Never saw a cat grazing in a wheat field.
  12. I did not vote because I am only familiar with the CSA Product List. When I was first diagnosed, I went into the panic mode. I did order the CSA Product listing and was pleased at the time. It is geared to west coast and midlands grocery stores that we do not have available here. If you have a Traders Joe's in your area, yes, it will be helpful...
  13. Hey Sandi, I just wanted to add that the gluten molecules are too large to be absorbed through the skin into your system. Gluten must be ingested for Celiacs to be symptomatic. Now, that doesn't mean that those with a gluten allergy will not be effected topically with a reaction. Meline, yes it is a very frustrating game.
  14. Welcome here! You won't find a better site for Celiac information. Please feel free to join in or ask any question. Celiac is scary in the beginning, but it does get better. How can we help you?
  15. Welcome! You have found a great place. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
  16. Just to clarify, MSG is not gluten related. It might not be good for your, but it's not gluten.
  17. McCormicks will clearly list all forms of gluten. If you don't see it on the ingredients list, it is gluten free.
  18. Open Original Shared Link Your primary care physician can oder this test done and he can also order a full metabolic blood test that will test for deficiences.
  19. I think that it's always useful to spell the Celiac vernacular out and also for the not-so-computer wise such as myself. I remember several times I refered to someone by what I thought was their name. They ended their post with TIA. I welcomed alot of TAI's.
  20. I stand corrected HAK is correct. The FDA laws pertain to food only at this time.
  21. Sorry, Deb for the temptation I do tend to forget about other intolerances.
  22. Maltdextrin in the US is generally dervied from corn. If it is derived from wheat it will say "Maltdextrin (wheat)". This is US FDA Law. If your label says Maldextrin and does not list wheat, it is gluten free.
  23. Yes, nausea was my warning symptom to look for the nearest bathroom, quickly!
  24. Welcome, Here is a list of things to look out for: https://www.celiac.com/articles/182/1/Unsaf...ents/Page1.html Here is a list of companies who will clearly list gluten (as in wheat, barley, malt and rye): Open Original Shared Link Sensitivity does differ from person to person but in the beginning it's very important to be 100% gluten free so...
  25. "Van's" Waffles are found in the frozen section in stores that carry this brand. They have several, but do have a glutenfree/wheat free.
