ARCHIVED Confused About Some Alcohols
Lisa replied to Lawrence's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Lawrence: On the home page of this site is a list of gluten free alcohol. It is very conservative. It is considered that most alcohols that are distilled removed the gain content during the process. Not to say, that some do react as it has been mentioned here. Capt. Morgans is on the safe list, so that should give you some options. The more components... -

I lost my mother as a very small child, so it always seemed to be a good fit...she has been like my mother, had I known one. She had a hearattack on May 28 and was airlifted to a cardio center two hours away...

ARCHIVED No One Will Believe Me!
Lisa replied to JENinMICH's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Jen: Test for Celiac are very specific and you can find the exact tests for Celiac on this site. I am amazed and not that your doctors have not tested for that. If, though your testing, nothing is apparent you can go on the gluten free diet without a doctors recommendation. Many people here are self diagnosed and never looked back. Your symptom are... -
Jessie: You might know more about this than I, but perhaps you could have a allergy reaction to something in the injection. (maybe, corn, egg based) I think many of us are more sensitive to things post gluten removal than pre gluten times. Just a thought. Hope it passes soon.

ARCHIVED Have You Experienced This ?
Lisa replied to deedub's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
deedub: Sometimes after you are gluten free you can find yourself sensitive to other things. It is often recommended here to go dairy light or eliminate it all together until your intestines can heal, Then add it to your diet and check for a reaction. Be careful with your toiletries and cross contamination. Gluten is a sneeky sucker! -
Been a little bit sidetracked lately, but as so many, a well wish for you for your birthday.

ARCHIVED Exercising Amongst Barley And Wheat Fields
Lisa replied to Rivergirl's topic in Sports and Fitness
First let me welcome you to this site and hope you can be free to ask as many questions that you may have. From what I understand is that gluten needs to be ingested to effect you intestines. Breathing may get into your nasal passages and therefore find it's way through you digestive system. Just the same way that I don't like to go down the bread or... -

ARCHIVED Son's Last Day Of High School
Lisa replied to Teacher1958's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Teacher: When my husband and I went to the college orientation, I was never more impressed. But, they told the parents a small key to communication. Mail him a letter, write a nice note and note that there is a $50.00 check inside to maybe dine out or have some fun with. AND THEN NEVER INCLUDE IT IN THE LETTER. I can assure you that you will... -
ARCHIVED Parmesan Cheese
Lisa replied to Terrilyn's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Assumingly your bread crumbs were gluten free, yes? Cellulose should not be an issue for celiacs. Rather that, perhaps you may have a issue with dairy for the moment. Sometimes dairy is an issue in the begining and many can reintroduce it after some healing. -
ARCHIVED Modified Food Starch - Correction Of Misconception

Ya know, I don't know what is right to say or wrong to say. As a moderator, I have certain responsibilities but as an active member here with Celiac I have a voice in that as well. As a Celiac member, I have a lot I would like to say. As a moderator, I will refrain. I thank the few that have been in support, but on the other hand, it's not about "he... -
