  1. S-Q, Take the shrimp and alternate the bacon (Oscar Meyer, of course). Skewer the shrimp and flip flop the bacon between the shrimp.. Spread the Sweet Bay Ray's BBQ sauce and grill lightly. You can do the same for scallops. You can broil as well. Yup, don't get any better.
  2. Welcome Terrydavis, Without a concern, you would not have found you way here. I would recommend that you read as much as you can from these posts. They hold an emense amount of knowledge and research. All you would want to know about Celiac is here on this side. Triggers for Celiac are not always known to us, but most are pre-disposed. If you...
  3. I have not found many responses that drywall contains gluten, or at least substantiated with documentation, but to be on the safe side, I would work elsewhere. And a mask would probably be helpful.
  4. I use it about once a week and I have never found anything better. Shrimp wrapped in bacon and a drizzel of SBR's and broiled or grilled... it don't get any better than that. There is life beyond celiac...
  5. Yes, this is an exciting day for me. Our local Food Lion is upgrading their store, preparing for the incomming Farm Fresh. They just put in a large line of gluten free products (I had to go out of town to find things). I'm trying the spaghetti tonight.
  6. Yes, they are gluten free. See , they work.
  7. An endoscopy exam can determine the extent of the damage in the small intestines. The biospy can be hit or miss. It, as in the blood test, can rule Celiac in, but not rule it out. Positive blood test is a Celiac diagnosis. Triplets, wow
  8. ....more than 14
  9. I think that you should look elsewhere for the gluten. How long have you been gluten free. It does take time to heal. Coffee should not be an issue, at least not a gluten issue.
  10. We have alot of members from the Seattle area...I'm sure that they will check in soon with some great advise. By the way, I think that is a wonderful idea. With this celiac thing, we tend to pay it forward.
  11. With efforts, I write this post. The fatigue is back big time. I do have to admit that I do not have much of an appetite and have not in many years. I cook well and explore some great dinners. I can cook some drop dead dinners and I will eat that. But day to day, there is no desire to eat. No, I am not anorexic. I have been cooking for an elderly...
  12. I would think that you could discuss this with your local Social Services Department with a letter of confirmation from a Doctor, should Celiac be the diagnosis. Maybe it could be tied into the WIC Program or something.
  13. While we are on North Carolina...if any one comes to the Outer Banks, let me know because it's only about an hour away. Laura might be comming this summer and I hope we can meet for lunch.
  14. Carla, I'm on the ocean side of the state. Asheville is beautiful. I think that this was my first thread after joining the Board. My how time flyies
  15. Well Hello Mary Katyherine! Welcome to the Board. I live up the coast about three hours from Wilmington and I have a daughter who lives in Wilmington. I am glad that you found this site. It has helped me tremendously and there is nothing about Celiac that someone can't tell you. Feel free to ask any questions of just vent. We ALL can relate here...
  16. Jerry, Check out...nationgeographic.com/yourshot. It tells you how to submit a nature picture to National Geographic. I think you should sumit some of your pics. Go for it.
  17. Have a great one Donna!!!!
  18. It does take some time to feel better and I'm glad that you are. If you villi are damaged it is very hard to digest dairy, so that is why it is recommended to at least be dairy light or eliminate it all together. Some people feel better almost immediately and others like myself it took 2 months for the D to subside in order to leave the house. I have...
  19. I have eaten at Freemason Abby and they were very easy to work with.
  20. You were not around for you 22 birthday, so I wanted to wish that you had a wonderful one. You sound good. What's going on with you now.? Lisa
  21. Yup, that's me. It cleared up with some b-12 injections and now I take them sublinqually daily (under the tongue). If you take daily prescribed antacids, it also depletes the absorption of b-12 in your system. You may need to have some blood work-up and make sure everything is in the normal range.
  22. Okay... I just called Centrum Centrum Silver (new formula) No Casine No Lactose AND the do not add gluten, do not test and cannot guarantee!!!! BUT the can guarantee the casine and lactose....go figure. ANOTHER CYA STATEMENT.
  23. Do you guys realize you are approaching 400,000 posts? Wow.
  24. I just did a search here about their "new Formula". I plan to call this afternoon. Has any one gotten confirmation on this new change. Also, I have concerns about dairy in a multiovitamin. Thanks, Lisa
  25. Paula, it would make good sense for her to get a good blood work up, during her physical. If she is 55, a short few years from me, it's good to see where she is and what supplements she might be lacking. And check on the thyroid while she's there. I envy your closeness with your mother. I lost mine when I was 2& 1/2. I don't really know the relationship...
