  1. Thanks Nancy, it's fun. But to wait. Annie is the left of my avatar. She's a sweetie, but down with the flu, first wedding anniversary June 10 and calling momma. I like that.
  2. Please don't get excited, just a mothers boast. Two summer ago a movie crew here and did some shooting for a movie. It is called "Dog Days of Summer". We have not heard much so I googled it. The movie will make it's film debut in Cannes Film Festival in the Fall. The move stars Will Patton, and boy is he such a nice guy and very down to earth. Annie...
  3. Thanks Patti for the time to look this up. Don't know whether they were planters, but feel more comfortable now. I am still a little bugged that they did not list the nuts on the salad menu. What if I had a peanut allergy. When I inquired about the nuts, the own ask if it was ok and I responded with "I'm not sure". She gave me that look like "Sorry...
  4. Today I order a salad with cranraisins, sliced apples and unseasoned grilled chicken. I brought my own Newmans Dressing. When it arrived, it has what I thought were pine nuts (thought, ok cool). Half way through my salad the nuts tasted seasoned. I asked and yes they were dry roasted peanuts, similar to Planter's. I have not bought them since gluten...
  5. Good Grief...I have not heard of Junket in tens and tens of years. Didn't know it was still around.
  6. This was several months after I was diagnosed and switched doctors. He ran a celiac panel on me when I was two months gluten free, so therefore negative. I know now that he was very skeptical of my diagnosis (confirmed by biopy) and pushed the Lexipro. I was on 10mg for a little over a year and stopped after my daughters wedding ( I know it was helpful...
  7. Jerry GO SLOWLY!!! When I got of lexipro I did it was to fast, like a week and a half. I started to get this strange electrical pulses all over my body, and other very strange things. You should do it over a course of a month. Or at the recommendation of a doctor.
  8. Great to see you face Lister!!! Handsome young man as well. Well, I sure could tell a difference in your posting. Your words were spelled correctly, you wrote complete sentences and you made sense. You might not see a big difference in not being high, but it is very evident. It's a wonderful change. Hang in there. You have a new job and...
  9. To untie a large bouquet into several...I think is priceless. I just wished that we had thought about that in our daughters wedding last June. That is SOO cool.
  10. Hey Geoff: It would be nice to have some of your mother-in-law recipes ( I forgot the fond name you have for her or is it the grandmother?). You are truely a lucky man.
  11. Kimberly: I have know people like that my entire life. At 52, I am less tolerant of it with new people that I talk too. I do have a friend of almost 30 years and she is much like that. I mention something about me and the conversation immediatly returns to herself. She is currently dealing with a butt of a husband, a 25 year old son with addictive...
  12. GOOD FOR YOU GEOFF!!!! We all need to see good things happening.
  13. It's always good to post with confirmed product. No one wants to get any one sick.
  14. Your instruction are good. Continue eating gluten as difficult as it may be if you have a biopsy scheduled soon.
  15. I like Gloria Vanderbilt...oh genes. Don't know mine, a biopsy sealed it for me.
  16. OceanSpray Cranraisins are gluten free.
  17. No, but I bet there is a 1-800 number of a web site you could contact and ask.
  18. I buy them all the time. But recently, I've tried to stay dairy light. To my knowledge, they are still gluten free but perhaps it's the cheese that you reacted to. Glad you feel better. You could always trie Boars Head as all meats and cheeses are gluten free.
  19. You have to do whatever works for you. But, if it makes you feel better, my husband with a combination of red wine and beef, will do his morning newspaper reading in the bathroom. And, he is non-Celiac. And, he would be so proud that I mentioned this.
  20. Welcome to the Club! You have just found yourself the best source for celiac information available. First, start simple - meats, seafood, potatoes, rice, fresh veggies and fruit, nuts with simple seasonings. Dairy is often hard to digest until the villi heal. You also need to check your toiletries to include lotions, makeup, lipstick, shampoos...
  21. Red wine is safe for Celiacs although some here react to the sulfites in the wine.

    ARCHIVED Cnn

This morning she did a segment about the Bethesda, Maryland Gluten Free Cookoff. She mentioned Celiac Disease quite often with the need for gluten free cooking awareness. She's the best thing since sliced Kinnikinnick!
  23. Hey Lister: PM me and we can exchange information. I do know you, well sort of. But have been by your side as others have. Lisa
  24. Order a salad with no croutons and bring your own dressing. I do this all the time. That is always a safe way to go. Or you can order oil and vinegar dressing....and no explanation needs to come. Enjoy your time.
