  1. I am several years into a gluten free diet and still experience severe constipation. Although I do not have a definite diagnosis, I was thinking about trying this diet also. I have two questions. I am already dairy free but wonder if I can add dairy free products in instead of dairy. I also wonder about using certified gluten-free supplements. I use citracal...
  2. I had many infections and trips to the dentist that indicated sjogren's but my blood work is negative but I am treated with plaquenil for fatigue and mild joint pain by my rheumatologist. I use systane eye drops and there is a night time gel by refresh that is really good. If your blood work is negative then they call it "sicca syndrome." Sjogren's can go...
  3. I was going to put some flyers out at the local grocery stores with my phone number on it and sell them personally.
  4. I am a teacher and wanted to obtain some extra money in the summer and was thinking of selling gluten-free muffins in my surrounding area. What do you think? I have one great recipe and will need to play around with some basic banana and blueberry recipes. I was going to only offer 3 kinds. I am dairy, egg and peanut free so they will not include those...
  5. I have similar symptoms and have some positive blood work that suggest celiac. I am gluten free now regardless of the testing due to having a positive ANA which suggests something autoimmune is going on but like you, I don't react to gluten. I have terrible constipation that doesn't respond to anything except miralax and I continue to have to take more...
  6. My previous GI doctor thought I had this but the biopsies came back negative. He wanted me to have an upper gi every year to watch it. Now he is not practicing in my state any longer and went to a new doctor. He said there was no need to scope me every year if it came back negative but he is scoping me every 2 years. So I am wondering who is right. If...
  7. Anyone read the book fiber menace or looked at the gut sense website? Any input would be appreciated.
  8. I have been considering going grain free as my constipation is not any better. I read the article on this site that celiacs react to other grains. I have tried no grains before and I didn't see any results but I was only on it a week. It is a hard diet to stay with, plus I am egg free which makes breakfasts difficult. I would love to cure my constipation...
  9. I have a hard time with parties but we are going to a family party this year. I am bringing some games, a snack that is gluten free and my blender for non-alcoholic drinks although not sure what I am going to make. There will be children there so the blender will probably be a "hit". I don't drink due to having pancreatitis this august. I don't drink anyway...
  10. I am looking for bulk sausage to fix this week. We usually fix our own but we are out. All I find on the web are brands that claim to be safe but may have cc. I don't have a typical reaction so I am looking for help. Thanks!!
  11. Do rice krispie treats or use the recipe on the back of the enjoy life chocolate chips for chocolate chip cookies. I also think godairyfree.com has good recipes that can be changed according to diet. I made the fruit filled oat squares and they were good. They were a bit crumbly but tasted similar to pop tarts. I substituted one of the starches for sorghum...
  12. My list is similar to yours. I can not eat eggs or dairy and have other food that were troublesome. Vans has a frozen waffle that is easy for breakfast. I eat baked potatoes or sweet potatoes, vegetable or fruits. Some of orieda's frozen potatoes are gluten-free I have smoothies or various hot cereals. There is flax milk, rice and hemp that you can try...
  13. Laura I used almond milk and applesauce and they were not crumbly at all. They are not extremely sweet but I eat them with dairy free yogurt.
  14. I used Bob's red mill gluten-free quick cooking oats.
  15. I found this recipe in a regular cookbook. Pretty simple and tasty if you eat oats. 2 c. Quick cooking oats. 1/3 c. Brown sugar 1 1/2 t. Baking powder 1/2 t. Salt 1 c. Milk 2 eggs ( I used 1/2 c. Applesauce) 2 T. Oil 1 t. Vanilla Mix dry ingredients. Mix wet ones and add to dry. Blend well and let set 5 minutes. Grease muffin...
  16. Went to ER with elevated lipase level. They removed my gallbladder although no stones but had sludge. Was doing well at home for a week but now have burning and mild pain where gallbladder was at times. Very concerned about pancreatitis relapse. Can this be related to celiac? How long do I live off of a low fat diet? Anyone have any suggestions so I...
  17. I got tested and discovered that I am intolerant to eggs. You might want to experiment with eating just either the yolk or the white part as you may not react to both. You may also be able to eat them in baked goods but not just eat plain eggs. Losing eggs has been very sad for me because many gluten-free bread, crackers and bought desserts have eggs in...

    ARCHIVED Eczema?

I have been gluten free for several years and I have a rash on the back of my ear since I was a little girl. I have been to various doctors and only received steroid creams which I have used off and on throughout the years for flares. 6 months after going gluten free my facial glands swelled and I couldn't get my rash under control. I went to a dermatologist...
  19. Thanks Blessedmommy! I use this product only it has a blue lid and contains soy. My grocery store does not offer the soy free one but I will look elsewhere for it. Thanks again!
  20. I am DGP IgG and DPG IgA positive. All other tests are negative. Not sure how accurate those tests are. My diet is clean of gluten, eggs, dairy and peanuts. The only thing that I eat that has soy in it is my mayo and not sure what to substitute for that. But I need mayo!! Gastro suggested fiber along with Miralax. Took gluten free gummy chews last...
  21. After 3 years of being gluten-free, I convinced my new gastro do re-do the inconclusive genetics test. I have other issues such as possible Sjogrens and is seeing a rheumy for that. My insurance will not cover it but I would like to know, especially for my kids. I have less stomach pain but still am constipated to the point that I use Miralax daily. I...
  22. Yes! My 12year old son has been on this for several years due to terrible migraines. We were thankful to find his trigger. He stays away from nitrates which are found in processed meats. That seems to be the main trigger although we watch the caffeine intake also. They make nitrate free lunch meat, bacon, pepperoni and hotdogs so it is not too bad for him...
  23. I agree with getting it checked out. I have been checked out and they didn't find anything except hemorrhoids. The doctor didn't give me any suggestions but eat more fiber which doesn't work for me. My suggestion while waiting for an appointment is make sure your stools are soft. I accomplish this with using Miralax. The best thing I have discovered is using...
  24. coffngrl - My mom had the constant D when I was growing up. After many years of suffering, she went gluten-free and is somewhat better but also has colitis and diverticulitis. I am glad that your new doctor is scheduling tests and taking blood. Have you had a stool sample yet? I am the total opposite - constipation but do take a muscle relaxer (hyyoscyamine...
  25. I agree, I have no official diagnosis of sjogrens or celiac. Biopsy was negative but DGP IgG and DGP IgA were positive. Sjogren's can tag along with celiac, lupus, scleroderma or others. Hopefully I won't develop any more auto immune friends. I am thankful that my doctor is treating symptoms. I have been on restasis but had a possible allergy to it and...
