    I have seen some canned baked beans as not safe in the US. There is a specific flavor of Bush's beans and there are some chili beans that clearly have wheat in them (can't remember the brand). I have not seen just plain beans (kidney, navy, pinto) that have gluten in them. Hez

    Since you keep getting glutened I would say that your body may not have had enough time. Does this make sense? I have heard from my doctor that over time I may not be as "sensistive" to gluten as I am now. But if I kept having cc issues than I might wonder if I have had enough time to heal.     Splenda is gluten-free. I use it occasionally and it works like regular sugar. I have a friend who is diabetic and I have celiac. So I figure a sugar free gluten-free treat on occasion won't hurt me. I am somewhat leary of all fake sugar though. Hez

    I am trying to come to terms with the fact that what used to be normal for me no longer is. The physical part is starting to go back to normal. I have further to go in the emotional arena. For me I am trying to redefine what my normal is. I let you know if it works Hez

    I have similar issues. I have started to demonize the gluten. Not just in my head but out loud. My friends think I am nuts (this is nothing new, they thought that before my dx). I also know how sick it will make me. I really do think this is the hardest part, the emotional. Hez

    I could not handle milk after going gluten-free. It really messed me up. I have been gluten-free since April and have just recently started adding milk back into my diet.     I know Kraft will not hide gluten in their label. You may want to try that. I use Kroger shredded cheese, I think they use potato starch. I know nothing about lactose free, sorry. Hez

    Lollie, I have found that the majority of cheese is gluten-free. However, after my dx and going gluten-free I noticed I could not tolerate dairy very well. Could this be the problem?     From whole foods love the pizza crusts and pies. From Kinnikinnick I like the donuts and pizza crusts. I love the bread from anna from gluten evoution! There are tons more that I have not tried. Everyone has different tastes but I know you will be able to find good substitutes. Hez

    I use these crackers all the time. They are great for making crusts for cheesecake. I have never had a problem. I am so sorry you got a cross contaiminated batch Feel better soon. Hez

    Your Dad was probably diagnosed because he was outside of the US! The US really lags behind other countries when it comes to celiac knowledge and diagnosis. I hope your test goes well and you get the answers you are searching for. Welcome to the board Hez

    Nini, I so understand your tears! One thing about this disease is it makes you feel different from everyone else. It was a small thing to eat french fries but a huge thing to be like everyone else. I do not understand why they had to mess with this. Hez

    Molly, I just checked the delphi list and it says Swedish Swordfish are gluten-free. Are these the same? I always thought swedish fish were okay. Hez

    Have you tried ener-g crackers? They are a cross between a ritz and a water cracker. I really like them. I can get them at my health food store. Hez
