  1. You are right this disease does suck but let me add that it does get easier with time. That tired feeling will get better as well the more your body heals. For me it took six months on the diet before I started to feel better. As for the dieticians I would skip it. I can't tell you how many threads I have read on this board of people getting the wrong...
  2. I have eaten several times at my local Outback. Knock on wood they have been good experiences. However, eating out is always a risk. I try to eat on the early side when it is not as busy. Keep in mind that each restaurant is different. There have been some on this board that have not had good experiences. I think as a chain that Outback does its best...
  3. I keep looking for them as well I would love to try them. Hez
  4. I do not live in Denver so I am not a huge help I have been to Abruscis, it was really good. I thought they had a decent selection on their gluten free menu. Open Original Shared Link Here is the website for the Denver group Open Original Shared Link There is a dining out section under the dietary tab. Have fun in the mile high city! Hez
  5. I think you will find that you have several options in denver. I live in fort collins so I am hesitant to suggest a place. You may want to look over this website for more ideas Open Original Shared Link Have a great time! Hez
  6. I know that Di Saronno is safe. I contacted the company a couple of years ago and have never had a problem. In my experience very few ice creams from the grocery store have gluten. I have found that most major brands are gluten-free. Many Breyers, Eddy's and Dreyers are safe. In general I tend not to worry about ice cream. Having said that you may have...
  7. Theoritcally all alcohol that is distilled should be gluten-free. The process of distilation does not allow for gluten particles to pass through. However, there are times when something might get added after distilation. There are also fellow celiacs who get gluten reactions from alcohol made from grains. So if you were needing to be careful you would...
  8. It sounds like you are missing the baking pan! It is what the loaf mixes, rises and bakes in. I like this machine. My only complaint is that the bread gets too dark for me even on the light setting. I think the machine does better with a 1 1/2 lb loaf than a 2 lb loaf. Hez
  9. For those of you that can find this product Open Original Shared Link their drink mixes are gluten-free EXCEPT the bloody mary mix. They are the type that you add your own alcohol. They look really good but I have been afraid to buy them. Now I can! Happy Friday. Hez
  10. Last time I checked (it has been awhile) kool aid is gluten-free. Hez
  11. I think eating out is risky. Think of it as going to Vegas, it is a gamble. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. I do eat out but very rarely. It just is not worth the risk to eat out alot. I do enjoy going to the gluten-free cafe in Denver. I know it is safe there, no gluten. In the end it becomes a personal choice. There are many on this board...
  12. I have heard mixed things about the Carrabba's in Fort Collins. Some of had good experiences others lousy. I have never tried it. I try to look at being super sensitive a blessing. I have no desire to eat gluten! Is there anyway you can eat on the weekends in the sorority house? Do you have access to the kitchen? Sometimes it is fun to cook as a big...
  13. I would think that since this is your wedding it would be fairly easy for the priest to handle this. You and your soon to be husband should be the first to receive communion. You might want to talk to the alter guild about providing a clean vessel and avoid the purchase of one. Congradulations! Hez
  14. I am sorry to hear you got sick at Chili's. I have only eaten their one time and did okay. I really am gun shy about eating out. My reactions from slight cc are so severe that I really limit going out. I have had great luck at the Outback on the south side of Fort Collins. As well as PF Changs in Loveland. I have also been to Austin's and they did have...
  15. My family went to Deby's Gluten Free cafe on Saturday and had a wonderful lunch. I just love eating there. It is amazing to look at a menu knowing I can eat anything. Second, I love being able to share food. Since I am the only one with celiac when we go out I am the only one with a gluten-free meal. At Deby's everyones meal is gluten-free. I had some...

    ARCHIVED Melt Down

I so agree! The diet is fine. It is the inconvience that kills me. The constant planning and reading labels. Sometimes I just get sad. I am jealous of those that don't have to think before they eat. Feel the sadness, recognize it and then let it go. Tomorrow is another day. Hez
  17. I called on this last year and was told by the company that it is gluten-free. I would call and double check, things can always change. Hez
  18. Sue, I picked up mine at Whole Foods in the refrigerated vitamin area. The ones I picked up are Mega Flora. I was feeling bad before I started on them and I fell so much better when I take them. My gi doc and I have no idea why they are working, we just know that they are. There were a ton of probotics that were gluten-free. Some were more expensive...
  19. I am so happy you had such a great vacation! Hez
  20. I love their crackers and eat them all the time. However, there are many people on this board that are extremely sensitive and have had problems with these crackers. If you think they are making you sick stop eating them and see if you feel better. Not exactly scientific but it works! Hez
  21. I statted taking probotics about a month ago and feel as if they are the best! However, mine say gluten-free on the bottle. I would try another brand that are gluten-free and see if you feel better. I swear by mine. Hez

    ARCHIVED Mcdonalds

I could not find a list. Just ingredients for each item. Hez
  23. I eat ice cream all the time. I love Breyers and have never had issues. Unfortunatly I am sensitive. However, I understand that others could have reactions when I do not. Most ice creams are safe except the obvious gluten ones. Is is possible that dairy is the problem? I am sure someone will respond that has another brand for you to try. Hez
  24. Eating out is always risky. It could be that the fries were fried in a non dedicated fryer? Was chicken marinated or cut on a board used for gluten? Or possible cc at any place along the way. Or just a normal kid tummy ache that went away after a bm. I am sorry he was feeling bad. Hez
  25. I would be careful ordering the donuts in the summer. I had to quickly throw them in the freezer to reset the frosting. They had started to melt on my front porch! I will order again but only in winter. Hez
