    I used to be a medical transcriptionist. It's a completely legitimate career. It does take some time to learn; I studied in my spare time for about two years. But after that I was able to make a living doing it. I did it full-time for about 3-4 years. It's also nice to know if I ever want to or need to go back to work, I can get a job pretty easily...

    The enterolab test is totally worth it. I used the test to make sure I was barking up the right tree as far as what was wrong with me.     Lisa, I'm sorry things are so rough and so frustrating. I hope these tests give you some new answers and not just some half-@ss "eat more fiber" BS from a doctor who has never gone through any of this stuff. To have to hear that after eating gluten, AND to have them not give you enough meds AND not even freeze your throat? Come on people! Grr... ...

    I don't have any more advice than what everyone else has given you. I'm just so sorry you're going through this without someone there with you.     That's awful. I went through something similar with a few people, some worse than others. If she can't be supportive and is even possibly endangering you I think that's over the line.     GFP, I remember someone comparing doctors (favorably actually) to mechanics. You just keep looking and trying stuff until the problem goes away.     That's true... The more categories there are the more muddy the waters may become. I guess my point is that doctors need to be educated on the atypical presentations of celiac as well as the classic presentation. There is an established phrase of "atypical celiac". But it doesn't seem like most doctors know that atypical might have none of the testing...
