  1. OK - I am not savvy at posting pictures... do you have to use a url?
  2. Fantastic news! When I was diagnosed I purged my house on 3 separate occasions. 2 kitchen purges and one bathroom purge. I still find the random item that I have to get rid of but overall I think my house is gluten-free. I purged all of my plastic storage containers and wooden utensils. I figured I could use the purchase of new ones as a coping mechanism...
  3. I think I am going to make a chicken stir fry with some boneless chicken breast and a frozen veggie medley. For dessert I think we will grill a banana with marshmallows and mini dairy free choc chips and PB! (Whomever posted that recipe for camping - it is addicting and amazing!!! My boyfriend said it was better than traditional s'mores!) Celiac's for the...
  4. GrIlled boneless pork chop with steamed green beans and diced bacon. Yum!
  5. From the one 'glutening' experience I have had since diagnosis it took well over 12 hours for me to have the obvious effects (I get D and stomach cramps).
  6. I went camping this week at the Rubicon Trail in Northern California. It's a big 4x4 off road type trip. I prepared all my food in advance to make sure I didn't get glutened. What I failed to do was check the Jose Cuervo margarita mix online before bringing it. (I've drank tequila with lime prior to this trip and did not have the same effect- I know some...
  7. I have not tried Lush but I'll certainly look into it. Thanks for the suggestions!
  8. Open Original Shared Link This source says that your immune system is not affected by Celiacs and in fact it may be stronger because of it.
  9. Acne is one of those things that totally effects your self-esteem. I just wish I knew how to clear it up and have it be gone for good! Good luck with your tests!
  10. I never really had cystic acne (occasionally get one or two) but everything else you described is totally me. Plus I get the flakey weirdness around my jawline all the way up to my cheekbones and around my temples/hairline!! So frustrating.
  11. Lean protein (eg turkey, chicken, fish, bison), brown rice and cooked vegetables are going to be staples for any body builder (forgot to add that you need to have healthy fats in your diet too, so avacado, olive oil, flaxseed, coconut oil, NUTS/nutbutter). I would try to eat 6-8 small meals throughout the day. Carnivor shots are made from meat and have 5...
  12. Maybe your body is reacting to the dairy now even though you haven't had issues in the past? I'm sorry you feel terrible! I hope you feel better soon.
  13. So I have noticed that I have had some major flakes happening on my scalp with the occasional itch and my face has been acting real weird with some acne (usual for me) but then little small areas of flakiness. I normally have very oily skin so dry patches is just weird for me. Is this normal for someone with Celiacs?
  14. It is my understanding that your body will take from the bones in calcium in order to maintain a normal level of calcium in the blood, so your blood levels do not necessarily reflect what your bones are doing.
  15. The second ingredient in my cats food is wheat gluten! I am being super careful with them now and I wash my hands obsessively. I will be switching them once it's almost gone.
  16. So sorry if this is TMI but I just wanted to share how good I feel and that I started taking probiotics and digestive enzymes Saturday [gluten-free with no CC since Aug 22 (day of diagnosis), gluten-free with CC since June (suspicious of gluten intolerance but not educated enough about CC)]. I had my first normal BM followed by 2 abnormal BM's today but I...
  17. I do not trust the student's that run the food line. I just don't know if I would risk it. I work at a veterinary clinic - still a good option for education, always. But that is why they are not as aware of what it is. I think one veterinarian knew what I was talking about immediately since she has a friend with 2 kids that are Celiac. But yeah - many...
  18. I think it's great to get everyones perspective on this. I must be around a lot of nosey people because once one person at work found out I had celiac's it spread through our clinic and I've had everyone ask me about it. I know it's out of concern but I just get tired of explaining it. And I have a very well meaning friend at the neighboring department that...
  19. Thank you Bartful, that is very helpful and what I'll do.
  20. I told them I am training and eating for a fitness competition. I could say the same thing now as that hasn't changed but I thought I'd see how others have been handling it. Because I had treat days or high carb days in my regimine where I would and could indulge in more calories. I have been accused by family and friends of having body dysmorphia or...
  21. So... being new to this and all.. I have a lot of awkward explanations happening. I don't want to tell every Tom, Dick and Harry about my Celiacs diagnosis and symptoms. How do you politely decline food or a social invite when you normally would have said yes pre-diagnosis? I had an acquantaince at work tell me to grab a croissant because we had an early...
  22. I am thinking I need probiotics and digestive enzymes. What brands seem to be working for those in the US?
  23. I am new to this whole thing as I've just been diagnosed but I definitely have the myriad of stool qualities that you describe and the scattered little bits seem to be the most disturbing to me too! I removed dairy from my diet and it has improved. Whenever I get it it's usually after I accidentally consume dairy.
  24. GlutenDude & Jennifer's Way are nice resources I've found on my new journey

  25. Nicole - I can vouch for the gravity situation. I was doing a plank with my feet on a ball and that elevated things and caused some unfortunate rumblings with a suprise for anyone unfortunate enough to be near me at the gym. Haha we can only laugh at this situation right?!
