  1. Ooohh I am hosting a gluten free Friendsgiving and was wondering what I could do for stuffing. Perfect recipe! thanks for the link Irish!
  2. I haven't gotten my biopsy results back but just wanted to add that my endoscopy showed gross abnormality of mucosal atrophy. So sometimes there is visible damage. But I am assuming my biopsy will be consistent with my serology test results and be positive for celiacs.
  3. Melissa - it is a personal choice that everyone has to make for themselves. If you feel comfortable being gluten free without a diagnosis then by all means continue to eat gluten free. I personally wanted to see what shape my intestines were in because I was recently diagnosed in late August via blood test. I think it is a good idea to get a baseline for...
  4. This is awesome! thanks for contacting them and doing our research for us!
  5. the nerd in me wants to see my histology slides from my biopsies taken Friday. Can't wait for my post procedure follow up!

My Hubs posted his colonoscopy pics on Facebook, lol. I think seeing that stuff is cool too :)

Yeah that is totally something I would do if I had a facebook! lol

  6. Gotcha - I never experienced that before. Hope you can clear it up fast!
  7. Yes - I get them a lot. I get bacterial UTI's. I think it makes me more susceptible. If you don't get bacterial cystitis, what are you dealing with? Usually if its after intercourse it is contamination from e.coli (gross but they are located near each other). Try showering before sex and peeing right after sex. You can also drink lots of water and eat something...
  8. I was glad to say good bye and be done with the challenge 2 weeks in. I already feel 10x better since being gluten free for 3 days. Amazing.
  9. So I bought the brand Pocono cream of buckwheat this weekend from my local Whole Foods market. The box was quite pricey. I am looking into getting the groats and grinding them in my coffee grinder to make my own 'diy cream of buckwheat.' My question is: if buying on Amazon.. should I go with the Pocono brand or Bob's? Anyone have a preference or think one...

    ARCHIVED Wolff

I just tried the Pocono cream of buckwheat! So good. I made it with almond milk, added vanilla bean pure maple syrup and sliced bananas. So good! Paired it with 2 scrambled eggs for a complete breakfast.
  11. I had my endoscopy procedure today. Obviously awaiting the histology on the 6 biopsies that were taken. However - he took pictures of the esophagus, stomach (cardia and antrum) which were normal. The second portion of the duodenum shows atrophic mucosa. I am back on the gluten free diet. I also had my blood drawn today for the genetic test. I'll let you all...

    Day Six

And gluten does not respect calorie counting - just so you know! ;P

    Day Six

Ugh I know exactly how you feel. Try not to worry too much about the weight gain (easier said than done). It will fall off again once you are done with the challenge.
  14. Oh yeah - Pamela's is excellent. Cannot go wrong with that one.
  15. I agree. Your stress alone can make things worse. I know it is hard not to be right now but try to do what works until your appointment and try to lower your stress level. Try controlled breathing/meditation/yoga. Stress makes my symptoms much worse. Just a thought...
  16. Good luck GFBea! I know it's not fun to go through the challenge but having a definitive answer is worth it.
  17. So I should give in to the anxiety and take a test? Hopefully this doesn't lead to more crazy anxiety situations... This gluten challenge is really making me crazy. My mood is all over the place.
  18. I don't know where to post this really. I am 28 and not at all looking to get pregnant at this point in my life. Since I have started my gluten challenge I have had an irrational fear and anxiety of becoming pregnant. I have not bought a pregnancy test yet because I think that will validate the crazy I am feeling. But I am tempted to every day. I know...
  19. I definitely have struggled with ED (never diagnosed -doing good now) and also I've had insane mood swings since I've been eating gluten for my gluten challenge. I'm not normally all over the place and angry, losing patience easily, and crying at the drop of a hat. It's making me feel crazy!
  20. My gluten challenge has been a great learning experience because I am obviously a newly "almost diagnosed" Celiac that was gluten free for over a month. Now that I reintroduced gluten back I have had a multitude of symptoms: lethargy, insomnia, brain fog, diarrhea, mood swings/depression, bloat/water retention (I'm talking almost 10 lbs here - my weight...
  21. Thanks for the information... I definitely have upped my sugar intake on this gluten challenge. I will attempt to cut back. I've been going kinda crazy with eating whatever because I know once I have my endoscopy I'll be gluten-free again and eating meat, veggies and fruit til my GI heals again. I'll be avoiding processed gluten-free foods.
  22. Saw some ginger molasses cookies from Fresh & Easy labeled gluten-free. They state on the label that they publish their latest random batch test results on their web page. Sure enough they use a GLP lab and get the <5 ppm on their last batch from April. I'm impressed by this small company's efforts for the gluten-free community. Open Original Shared...
  23. I personally have noticed that when eating gluten I get numerous urinary tract infections. I had a ridiculous number of UTI's this year and I never had them before (literally have never had a UTI before this year). Now that I am 10 days into my gluten challenge I have yet another one. Does anyone else get this symptom from gluten? Does anyone know why this...
  24. You should call your doctor and ask these questions. He/She should be able to tell you what plan he wants you to follow. I can only share what I have been told: 2 slices of bread for 3 weeks prior to appointment.
  25. I was told 2 slices of bread. If I eat anything else with gluten that day I just add it on top of the bread.
