  1. OK so I got my results back and a message from my doctor. He indicated that my titers were still elevated but had reduced from previous. He gave me access to the results. So... comparably they have reduced quite a bit. That at least is good to see. He said that he would like to re evaluate again in 2 months. I replied and sent him the link that Karen provided...
  2. Oh - I will ask him. Never fear. I'll report back when I get the call or email.
  3. Yay... another test to pay for that I did not need. Fantastic.
  4. Very interesting, indeed. Thanks for sharing, Karen.
  5. Yeah.. that is what I thought.. Sigh. I get a totally new doctor in the new year with Obama Care discontinuing my old insurance so I get to find a whole new doctor to train (or not train.. maybe a good thing).
  6. I was also told by my doctor that if my symptoms do not fully resolve on the gluten-free diet that he wanted to check me for microscopic colitis. I'm about the same schedule as you as far as recovery goes but you've got me beat on the D. I still go 3-5x/day. But I was eating gluten-free oats and I think that was not helping my situation.
  7. So I've only been gluten free since October 25th after my biopsy was performed. Will 6 weeks be a good indication of how I'm doing as far as antibodies go? I thought that antibodies could be elevated for quite some time (years even) after going gluten free...? What's done is done. I already went and had my blood drawn for that plus a fasted lipid panel...
  8. rotisserie chicken, stir fry veggies, brown rice. Yum!
  9. Yeah... I totally learned that one the hard way. For some reason (ahem I'm stubborn) I wanted to keep my routine. I always eat 3 egg whites and oatmeal in the morning. But I've learned. I have learned! I tried the rice cooker tonight... and it totally boiled over! Woops! I salvaged it by just letting it simmer while the lid was open. I think I used too...
  10. Don't be so hard on yourself for messing up. Yes - it's not best and you don't want to do it but it happens. It's a totally new way of thinking. You have to be so suspicious of everything you eat. Read and verify and double check. Most people recommend that you try to avoid restaurants while you are healing and new to the process because cross contamination...
  11. What is your favorite way to cook it in large quantities? I was thinking rice cooker... does anyone know the liquid to groat ratio? I was thinking of using almond milk to give it a little sweetness. Maybe some stevia and some cinnamon, vanilla extract. I plan on eating it for breakfast instead of what I was eating before which was 3/4 cup of gluten-free...
  12. I am the baby of my family too as far as siblings go. Thankfully my sister had kids. But that doesn't mean my mom doesn't nag us other 3 for grandbabies! I am not even married and she wants me to have babies for her! Haha they get baby fever or something! Hopefully some can get you off the hook soon! Thanks... I should have taken time off sooner...
  13. I had stabbing abdominal pain, bloating, fatigue and diarrhea (just to name a few). Get tested for Celiac. It certainly cannot hurt.
  14. Labs are so notorious for eating random stuff. Working at a vet clinic you see some strange things.... the pop-up dispenser imagine is priceless! And I died reading about the wood chips. I love 'em, I do. Big dumb, yet at times very smart animals. They bring so much joy.
  15. It's 51 here in Northern California. I'm at home bundled in my warmies on another sick day from work (ya'll know how that goes). I'd love to be at the beach, even with the random guy hitting on you.... Irish you sure know how to make a girl envious!
  16. OMG! I love labs. I own a chocolate lab named Moose. He would rather eat the book. He's destroyed and eaten several paperbacks in his day. And dog shaming is hilarious! We should have a thread just for posting random dog shaming!
  17. We Celiac's must be luring them in somehow. Men must secretly be loving the toot-scented pheromones we put out. LOL
  18. I'm sorry you had to give up your career. That would be just as hard if not harder! I was on disability for over 6 months due to my knee and my depression set in so bad because I felt worthless. Now I know that isn't the case but being a strong woman I knew I wanted to be self-sufficient and I just couldn't. It was a rough time. I'm glad you were smart...
  19. I am stubborn - but I'd like to think I'm not dumb. I have my moments though! Thanks Gemini!
  20. Irish I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and picked it up!! I promise!! I stood in line while some middle aged man with his 10 year old daughter tried to hit on me. I was wearing a safety orange sweater and a camo ball cap and a sour expression. I was in no mood for his antics. He soon left the line for another. Wonder why?
  21. Thank you. I ready your story on your profile. You had quite the medical horror story. Glad to see if you can come back from that - I can too.
  22. Hey thanks for keeping an eye on that for me!
  23. I have heard you all loud and clear. Today I started the process of canceling my personal training. I have resolved to stop cardio while I am having diarrhea. I am going to lift but lift lighter just so I keep my muscle memory. I will try not to be so intense about the gym. Baby steps. Thank you all for your strong words of wisdom.
  24. Thanks! I know that this is the best option for me.. I need to rest. People are pretty much shouting it at me and my body is going into full on freak out mode (I was up all night in the bathroom -- ugh). So I called and need to get my doctor to sign a waiver so I can cancel my contract with my trainer. that is a pain but hopefully she will do it. I...
  25. I'm sorry that you didn't get the results you wanted to see! Just stick to the diet and feel better. Hopefully you can recover quickly from the wreckage. ((Hugs))
