  1. Welcome to the forum!! I am so happy to see you are here to learn about cooking safely for your wifey! Having the SO's on board, ready and willing to help during this journey is fantastic! You may be surprised to learn that some don't get it that easily. Be sure to check out the what's for dinner tonight thread like Karen suggested. It has lots of ideas...
  2. I would try it if it was available.
  3. Thank you! I bought about 6 sweet potatoes for making fries and I have been waiting to do it for the best slicing method. I'll try this week!
  4. How do you cut your sweet potato fries? Do you soften them first by microwaving or roasting them a bit? Those suckers are hard to slice!
  5. Mission corn tortillas are what I go for.
  6. What Karen said... but also.. what a jerk! Sorry you went through that. ((hugs))
  7. NASCAR has been worthless since the COT and the Chase. I used to be a big fan and they've ruined the sport. Absolutely ruined it. And back to our regularly scheduled posting about dinner: I feel like poo so I had rice and chicken tonight. Still having random flare ups in the "D" department.. chocking it up to healing but who knows. I don't think I've...
  8. Now why did you have to go and tell me that?! I had pushed them aside in my brain as a non-option. Now I'll be fantasizing about the cream filled eggs until I eat one
  9. And that is why I love this community so much. We 'get it.'
  10. I saw these in the market... and I google searched them to see if they were safe eats.. and got the 'at your own risk' statement. Reluctantly put them back.
  11. I Heard it Through the Grape Vine -- Smokey Robinson & the Miracles
  12. I don't think you are a 'crazy mom' at all. A lot of the symptoms you are talking about are signalment of celiac disease in children. I would request a celiac panel for him. Be sure he is eating gluten though otherwise it could be a false negative.
  13. You're so Vain" Carly Simon
  14. I am so so sorry!! That sounds horrible. I'm sure they were mostly just concerned for you and not annoyed by you monopolizing the bathroom. Here's my most awful location.. In the Rubicon trail up by Lake Tahoe where there is no bathroom and we are on our way out to go home from camping.. We are cruising and every few minutes I dash out with a roll...

  16. Blue Angel - Roy Orbison
  17. You should totally share your recipe! It sounds utterly indulgent!
  18. Fly Me to The Moon - Frank Sinatra
  19. I love super setting my workouts! I am so happy and exhausted. So happy to be feeling stronger!

  20. "Mr. Cab Driver" - Lenny Kravitz
  21. I'm 28 and that is my routine! We're just early birds versus night owls....
  22. You need to ask if they understand how to prevent cross contamination. If they understand what food items contain gluten. If anything you order is fried it must be from a dedicated fryer that has not been cross contaminated, etc. You need to be assertive but not rude when asking these questions. They need to take you seriously. Good luck!
  23. The best way to approach is through openly communicating your feelings to your friend. You cannot change the way they feel but maybe if you explain the way you feel as you did above it would make her/him less uncomfortable. It's a shame that they feel the need to alienate you even more by pointing out what you already know. Yeah... we have issues eating out...
  24. I made a quick chicken 'stir fry' with 1 chicken breast, a bag of stir fry frozen veggies plus added some extra carrots and peas. I used a light balsamic vinaigrette for the sauce with 1/2 tsp of guar gum to thicken it. Yum!
  25. Wonderful news!
