  1. Water, rest, time and patience! Probiotics and digestive enzymes can be helpful, too.
  2. The hiatal hernia could definitely contribute to or be the cause of your symptoms. You could also have NCGI... similar symptoms to Celiac without the damage to the bowel. Could be useful to do a dietary gluten free trial to see if symptoms resolve or improve.
  3. Stick with the whole foods diet.. that seems to cause you the least trouble. Sorry you got hit with soy! Ditto to what Karen said.
  4. What bartfull has said... ditto! Gluten withdrawal is real and it sucks! You will feel very sluggish and have a feeling like you cannot ever be full but it will pass. Keep it up - there is light at the end of the tunnel.
  5. Congrats to you both!! So wonderful to read about success stories! I am 6 months with normal titers and added dairy in successfully!
  6. I would stir in egg whites while it was finishing up cooking, then add peanut butter and a touch of stevia/sugar. I also used to like it with cocoa powder, PB, hershey syrup (just a tad, not a lot). Mix in some crushed walnuts. mmmm I miss oats.

  8. I know what you mean about working in the health care field and having procedures done... My first sugery (fractured radius/ulna- horse riding trauma) I had a terrible recovery... it made me nervous for each and every surgical procedure I have had since. Thankfully my 3 knee surgery recoveries were smoother.. I was very twitchy with my anesthesiologist. I...
  9. I think that you could substitute regular sugar in... it probably would be sweeter. But honestly, the original cookie with date sugar was not overly sweet so it could handle sweeter. I don't know how regular sugar weighs out in comparison to date/palm sugar but if you have a scale it may be worth just weighing it and using that amount versus a volume measurement...
  10. I made "Paleo Chocolate Chip Cookies" from gluten free on a shoestring: Open Original Shared Link I was really impressed!! I used date sugar since that is what I had on hand... it was perfect. Just the right balance of sweet and a bit of salt. I will be making them again. I bought some Almond flour from Costco last weekend. I was shocked they had the...
  11. Made another chicken stir fry. For the sauce I used Worcestershire, San-j gluten-free soy sauce, some sriracha and 1 cup of light balsalmic vinaigrette. To thicken it I used guar gum--but it didn't need much if at all. I used 2 bags of frozen stir fry veggies and 3 lb of chicken (a bit much .. but I was not willing to leave behind 1 breast and cook that...
  12. Need You Now - Lady Antebellum
  13. For those of you that are soy free there is a protein powder by Nuzest called Clean Lean Protein that has pea protein as the base... which also means it vegan. Just thought I'd let ya'll know about it.
  14. Looks great! thanks for sharing!
  15. They typically eat meal worms, crickets, and various types of lettuce. I don't see any source of gluten in the lizard diet. They dust them with a calcium powder sometimes in stores to increase calcium intake because metabolic bone disease is common in lizards. Make sure you have the right lighting setup - full spectrum lighting so you decrease the risk...
  16. Thankful for dairy and normal antibodies this month!

  17. Absolutely you can post the results. I have never heard of that. Has the ultrasound been sent to a physician for interpretation? Perhaps the technician misspoke?
  18. Thanks for the update! I am glad to hear you are feeling and coping better with it all. I am sad to hear about your layoff. I hope that doesn't affect you too much.
  19. I don't know if I have ever seen an app that tracks gluten. I feel like that is just done intuitively and through reading ingredient labels. I don't know if I would trust a database to be up to date either.
  20. Yes - this is typical for me too. I also get super tired and my thoughts and words don't get translated in a coherent fashion. ((Hugs)) and hope this passes quickly.
  21. I will!! thanks so much! I missed dairy so much! Hopefully you'll be able to have it again soon, too!
  22. haha Great minds think alike!
  23. Hi and welcome! I am unsure if your mom has had the celiac panel or not? Are you just waiting on the results? She definitely could have her symptoms explained by Celiac's Disease. There are over 300 symptoms. I hope you get your answer soon and that the blood tests that were ordered were very specific for Celiac's Disease. Do you happen to know what tests...
  24. I understand what it's like to work while going to school. I had 2 jobs while I did my bachelors degree. Is it possible to wait to do the gluten challenge after spring quarter and do it in the summer where it will only affect your job and not your study? An endoscopy is great for biopsying the small intenstine. It is the gold standard to check for microvili...
