  1. Well... had my 6 month antibody level check. Everything was in the normal range except my TTG IgA: it was 8 which was flagged as high but really it was in the equivocal range. But it is a vast improvement!!!
  2. For clarification - I didn't mean stop doing cardio - but change the intensity level. Thanks for expanding on the message Deekle!
  3. They clearly don't take you seriously as a patient. It shouldn't matter where your tests are performed. Doctors have colleagues and colloborate. They somehow have labeled you negatively. I know some doctors have issues with 'prescription seeking' people... but that is NOT what you are doing. So frustrating!! ((Hugs))
  4. Gimme Three Steps - Lynyrd Skynyrd Sorry for the legal/illegal confusion! haha
  5. Sail On - The Commodores
  6. I really like the gluten free cafe brown rice grits.. I get them from Wal-Mart. I just make them with water and then stir in the egg whites to add a punch of protein and then of course Peanut butter because... hello? who needs an excuse it's peanut butter! haha I just like the balance of healthy carbs, proteins and fat. It tastes fantastic and takes no time...
  7. Friends In Low Places - Garth Brooks
  8. Welcome! Your biopsy results are definitely a Celiac description. Coupled with the blood work and anemia that pretty much screams classic case. My biopsy results were not as clean and straight forward as yours appear. The blunted villi, smooth appearance and infiltration of eosinophils is what they generally look for as hallmark histology. Definitely...
  9. Brown rice grits, 1/2 cup egg white, 2 tbsp peanut butter stirred in at the end of cooking. Pretty good stuff.
  10. Thank you Irish. I know I have done all I can but it's my mom!! I can't give up on her. I'm hoping we get answers for her. Thanks for your kind words. I already gave her an email full of things from University of Chicago to take to her doctor. I think she's finally ready... but if the doctor doesn't back the research up I am going to rip her a new one! Her...
  11. haha It only took 6 months! Keep working on your mom.
  12. Also wanted to chime in that getting a UTI is par for the course when I get glutened. It's crazy.
  13. Thank you for your reply! I am curious - how did you start the elimination diet? All major allergens eliminated at once and then added back in after how long? I assume you would do one addition or removal at a time.
  14. No one besides me has been checked or diagnosed with Celiac's Disease. My mother has hypothyroid (poorly managed-not sure if it's Hashi or not) and EoE (eosinophilic esophagitis) also poorly managed. She has had to have her esophagus dilated 3x now. It is ridiculous that the only therapy that they have offered is steroids and acid reflux medication. I *finally...
  15. I made Portuguese Green Soup from the website here and it was so good. I had leftovers for dinner last night. Still tastes just as good reheated!
  16. I made protein pancakes today: 2 tbsp coconut flour, 50 grams protein powder, 1/8 tsp baking powder, 1/4 cup egg whites, 1/4 cup almond milk, 1tsp vanilla extract, 1 small banana mashed. Makes about 3 pancakes. Served it with 1 tbsp PB and maple syrup.
  17. Well - you are doing one thing that can help you and that is sharing your story with people like us who understand and 'get you.' Hopefully things will get better over time and you'll look back and think 'WOW! I am amazed I was able to do all that when I felt THAT bad.'
  18. As long as you take the gluten-free diet seriously, I say call yourself whatever you want. No one knows your situation better than you do. Most people don't need the extra information of how you get diagnosed, anyway.
  19. Both my cats and my dog eat grain free. It was one of the first steps in decontaminating my house. The only products that I use daily that are not gluten-free are my makeup products with the exception of lip products.
  20. My suggestion to you is based on my experience body building. Start lifting weights. Your metabolism will increase with the amount of muscle you have. Increase your muscle mass = increase your metabolism=increase calorie needs =maintain same calorie intake = weight loss. Also - if you have been doing a similar cardiovascular training for months your body...
  21. If a dog is on regular monthly heartworm prevention(ivermectin) they are wormed for heartworms (Not a GI parasite) and roundworms/hookworms/whipworms. Pyrantel pamoate is the GI deworming agent that is commonly used. Puppies are born with roundworms as they get it from mom from milk due to hormonal surge to cause larvae to grow. You can purchase HW prevention...
  22. Mine was different...no lasagna noodles. Instead were potatoes. I like your recipe though.. it looks really good. I'll have to look in my book to see the name of what my recipe was called so I can find the corresponding link.
  23. Definitely get tested first. Getting the tests done after eating gluten free can be painful! Save yourself the trouble.
  24. I did try it.. and I think my recipe is a little different than what you are describing.. mine said low for 7 hours... and it was WAY too long! So either the recipe is different or it got mis-printed in the cook book I have? I thought the flavors would work well but it tasted over cooked.
  25. Went to Point Reyes, CA this past weekend for Moosie-Man's birthday. We took our leftover taco stuff from Friday and 2 slices of cake. Divine! We had the dog with us and there are only 3 dog-friendly beaches. We had fun running and walking along one and just sitting and watching the waves. Tonight is either brown rice pasta/sausage or Rufus Teague rubbed...
