  1. I second what Lisa wrote. Get the full panel done and then trial the diet if those are inconclusive.
  2. YAY! Happy 5 year Gluten Free anniversary! It gives us newbies hope.
  3. Unfortunately they were frozen and thawed blueberries and not fresh. Blueberries are just so expensive!! These taste just as good! Thanks Lisa!! I had a lot of fun baking this. Baking was a passion before diagnosis and the gluten free baking intimidated me. But I think I am starting to get excited about it again!
  4. I was diagnosed in Oct 2013 with biopsy but Aug 2013 was the blood test. I was gluten free after the August test then had to do a gluten challenge. I had the same issues that you had in regards to not being able to eat dairy, consume caffeine, or eat raw veggies. I think I really saw a turning point this month which is month 6 for me. Hoping you start...
  5. He loved it!! I had never used the KA mix before.. it's pretty dense! But it came out beautifully! I'll try to post a picture of it.
  6. Chicken tacos, mexican brown rice, refried beans. Birthday dinner for my boyfriend. I also made a Blueberry "Pancake" cake with maple butter cream frosting. I used the yellow King Arthur mix and doctored it up with cinnamon, nutmeg and blueberries. Dusted it with cinnamon sugar.
  7. haha Its OK. We'll just keep it going! Momma Told Me Not To Come -Three Dog Night
  8. You Make Loving Fun - Fleetwood Mac
  9. ...now I can eat dairy! Not in large quantities yet. But cheeses are fine, yogurt, and some ice cream! So thrilled!! I missed my greek yogurt so much. You have no idea.
  10. My patella is 1cm longer than it should be due to multiple fracture repairs.

  11. I had to google lichen planus because I have never heard of it. Learn something new every day. Hopefully your stress levels can come down so your hair doesn't keep falling out!! But wig shopping could be fun... (enter 80s costuming sequence with catchy song overdubbed) ... silver lining?
  12. Brown rice grits with 1/2 cup liquid egg whites stirred in with 2 tbsp peanut butter.
  13. OMG-- that peanut butter chocolate cake.. must get recipe!
  14. I am so excited to try Stephanie O'Dea's recipe for crock pot buffalo chicken casserole! I bought her cookbook last week out of menu boredom (I was in a super frustrated place - it gets tiring cooking all the time! Can I get an amen!?) I can't wait to go home and try it! I also bought the cookbook Against All Grain. Excited for both of them. I love perusing...
  15. I prefer wooden utensils. In fact super particular about them, too. I was so very sad to hand over my collection of wooden utensils to my sister when I switched the house to gluten free after diagnosis. I have been on the hunt for the perfect collection ever since. I have only ever used nylon utensils camping and they melt from the heat... so not a good...
  16. I did the gluten challenge and survived, was diagnosed and here I am. It's not for everyone, but it was important for me to have the biopsy done.
  17. I have never heard of this brand. I'll have to check it out. I have a whole foods and target where I'm at.
  18. I thought my acne was hormonal, too. But my dermatologist said yeast - and it makes sense. Because I've had scalp issues my entire life it seems and the only thing that helped was Nizoral shampoo. I hope your daughter's acne gets better! I'm crossing my fingers that the ketoconazole is the magic bullet and I'll be free of my acne!! But I am *cautiously* optimistic...
  19. So I took a whopping 50mg of Benadryl Friday evening because my allergies were out of control. I took claratin-D in the morning before work per usual. But unfortunately I am very allergic to rabbits (but they are so darn cute) and had to examine 6 rabbits Friday morning. When I got home from work I was so miserable I took Benadryl to help me sleep my symptoms...
  20. I am so excited for you!! YAY!!
  21. Katie I will keep you in the loop for sure. From what the derm said, I have micropapular acne. I thought it was cystic acne/hormonal. I was not expecting this diagnosis. So I am very optimistic. I have been searching Dr. Google as well and apparently the pyrithrone zinc shampoos can help body acne (like Head and Shoulders) used as a body wash. And the Nizoral...
  22. Endoscopy goes from mouth to the small intestine, not just the esophagus.
  23. Big Boss Man - Jimmy Reed
  24. I got my dermatology consult that I had been wanting for YEARS. I have had troublesome acne on my jawline, neck, shoulders and back for as long as I can remember. I also have a very itchy, flaky scalp. The diagnosis was pitysporum folliculitis. No wonder my antibacterial treatments were not working! I am now on oral ketoconazole once weekly for 3 months...
