  1. I made cheeseburgers on Canyon bakehouse buns... the best ones out there by far, no toasting needed. Carrots on the side. I also made these italian almond cookies today, I don't remember where I first saw them, some gluten-free website or facebook thing had pointed out this contest winning recipe was gluten-free. http://www.startribune.com/lifestyle/taste...
  2. Glad I could jog your memory! I may make them again.... sooner than later, lol.
  3. It will be less of a chore as time goes on. Glad we can inspire you with recipes.... here is a gluten-free but totally not healthy one: Last I googled bacon and hot dogs because I had both in my fridge, which is unusual, and got this: http://www.plainchicken.com/2013/06/cheesy-bacon-wrapped-hot-dogs.html So I stuffed them with cheddar, wrapped in...
  4. I would use your best judgement on it. Ancient petrified stuck in the nooks and crannies= toss. They can run pretty cheap, so if it is a cheap one I would toss and get a new one. Let me know how the cookie recipe turns out, I was thinking of making spritz cookies.
  5. What they said! LOL I wouldn't have eaten it, either. But hey, nature brings all kinds of creatures to the veggie yard lol.
  6. If it doesn't feel clean, wash the plate again by hand first. Usually, though, people are going to clean plates well enough to be okay. Of course, not everyone has the same standards of hygiene... so always do a stealth inspection first, lol.
  7. Yep, you are good to go! Enjoy!
  8. The frozen ones were my favorite meal as a kid... LOL
  9. Yeah, if ordering in bulk from canyon (its $5/loaf if you order a case) isn't going to be an option without a big freezer, I would definitely say make your own. I know bread recipes can be very diverse and there are mixes, too. So ya just gotta have at it and do some experimentation! May be worth investing in a good bread knife, etc, so you can get actual...
  10. I haven't had salisbury steak in a long time, this is gonna go on my to-make list! Tonight is tacos and black beans.
  11. That frozen food shipping can get ya good. I tried one of those from a store, forget where, it was pretty good. A nice treat.
  12. Cold here, too! I put some beans on the crock pot, black beans with bacon and I will probably fry up some sweet potatoes to go with it.
  13. Last night I made Spaghetti with Broccoli. Today will be beef stir fry with brown rice. I put in a huge order for canyon bakehouse bread... if you order $50+ it is free shipping with code "canyonfreeship". The email I got says it is good through Friday. So excited to have a good stockup of bread! I will probably eat it all too quickly... lol.
  14. Looking at old posts, looks like the OP has not been properly diagnosed but has a family history and symptoms. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/107852-dealing-with-eating-out/ https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/107853-symptoms-starving-all-the-time/ With that being said, Monkeygirl, I hope that with you having assumed that you likely have Celiac...
  15. Today I am making spaghetti with broccoli. And some of those immaculate baking company chocolate fudge cookies (purple box mix).... yum yum!
  16. With those, I have heard that buying the real thermos kind and paying a little more can be worth it. Definitely check out reviews before you buy, they can say a lot.
  17. Yep, thyroid issues definitely need to be ruled out. Other things that can add up to that are dehydration (try to drink more water) and medications (OTC and RX). Either way, if you can't figure out what is causing it, and diet tweaks don't help, it is a good idea to go get checked out by a doctor for things they can detect like the thyroid stuff.
  18. I have heard that, too. I am just afraid to switch up my recipe... but I will have to try lard next year!
  19. I know its probably too late (was afk for thanksgiving) but it should work well. Had a great thanksgiving dinner yesterday, leftovers today! Yumyumyumyum.
  20. While neuropathy can be caused my a Celiac ingesting gluten/ untreated Celiac, it can be caused by other stuff, too. So if you are getting it much more than usual, a trip to the doctor is in order to make sure there isn't another cause.
  21. I second the use of coconut oil. It is a single ingredient product, and if you don't like the light smell of coconut, get refined coconut oil. It goes on the skin very lightly and I use it for my facial eczema- every other moisturizer gives me acne which I can't treat in an eczema spot.
  22. Making it tomorrow or the day of is fine. To heat it back up, just add some broth so it doesn't dry out, and don't overheat it.
  23. I'm going to just show up at your house one day and stay forever eating your food, lol
