ARCHIVED Has Anyone Tried Trazodone For Sleep Deprivation
marciab posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I know this is a long shot, but I thought I would ask here anyway. I tried Trazodone Sunday and Monday nite because hot flashes are waking me up several times a nite. Other than the weird dreams, it worked like a charm. I was even hot flash free during the day Monday and Tuesday. I've been having 10 - 15 severe hot flashes a day for about... -

ARCHIVED How Long Do Fibromyalgia Symptoms Last After Being Glutened?
marciab replied to Sarah8793's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I was diagnosed with CFIDS / FM back in 1990 and I have all the trigger points too. Actually, my body was just in one big spasm from head to toe when all of this started. I had been in two car accidents six weeks apart the year prior though. Double whiplash Since going gluten and trigger food free, I have noticed I am not is as much pain. I actually... -

ARCHIVED Since Going Gluten Free What Is Better In Your Life?
marciab replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
1 - I got off Klonopin because I am no longer jerking (myoclonus). 2 - I can write legibly again. I had myoclonus in my hands. 3 - I always wondered what people meant by "thinking before you speak", but now I can do it most of the time. 4 - I can sit in a large group of people and enjoy the conversation because I am relaxed now. I felt... -
I was told that the dizzy feeling I got while walking through the mall was related to my hypoglycemia. And that my brain needed more food. HOWEVER !!! Eating while walking around the mall never stopped it. I can also stand in one place now without feeling the ground moving out from under me. Sorry, I can't explain why. But, at this...

ARCHIVED How Do You Belch? Don't You Dare Laugh!
marciab replied to Lisa's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sodas are bad and only add bubbles to your stomach. Gas x will work unless you have the kind of gas that just keeps on multiplying. I found that rubbing my abdomen and the spot in my body that hurt would make me burp. For more permanent relief, I have found recently that drinking a small glass of plain kefir works. Which leads me to think this... -

ARCHIVED Maybe The Diet Just Isn't Working For Me.....
marciab replied to mythreesuns's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
This diet is a learning process for most of us. I'm a little thick headed when it comes to what I can or can't eat. I had to try wheat 3 times before I could convince myself it was a BAD IDEA !!! And for some reason I keep trying garlic and onions. It is easy to get discouraged with all of this. I find that going back to my "safe foods" everytime... -

ARCHIVED Any Natural Ways To Cure Gastric Trouble
marciab replied to ebookmania's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Papaya, mango and pineapple contain digestive enzymes that will help your stomach digest your foods. You can buy the papaya in a bottle at the health food store, but I felt better if I just ate the fruit. Also, if you buy the fruit, you can dry the seeds in the oven at 250 degrees for about an hour and a half. Let them cool completely. Then put... -
Mine has always been low too. It will be interesting to see if it comes up now.

I was on Klonopin for nocturnal myoclonous for 16 and 1/2 years and now I am off of it after going gluten free for 11 months. I was jerking myself awake every time my body would go into REM. At times I would have to supplement the Klonopin with other meds because the jerking was so bad. I also had myoclonous that affected the hands too. I was unable...

I am ashamed to admit that I have no idea why a blog might be better than this message board. Do people access them more often ? I see what a blog is, but how would I ever know to go there if you hadn't given me the link ? I keep referring people on the immune support board over here. I was possibly misdianosed with CFIDS/FM 16 years ago, so...

ARCHIVED Back To Nature Sesame Ginger Rice Thins
marciab replied to marciab's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks folks. And if I am jerking tonight, we'll know they lied. I thought I would post the other ingredients in case some one else is looking for a cracker. They carry these at Publix. In the funky cracker section. The ingredients are : rice, expeller-pressed oleic safflower oil, sesame seeds, maltodextrin, salt, sugar, ginger, expeller-pressed... -

ARCHIVED Back To Nature Sesame Ginger Rice Thins
marciab posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I called the company today and got the standard "Gluten would be clearly labelled in the ingredients" line. It's not, but it's not labelled gluten free either. And I think they would label it gluten free if they thought they could make more money that way. Has anyone tried it ? I was eating these non stop until I found the word Maltodextrin... -

ARCHIVED Costco Farm Raised Salmon
marciab replied to ms-sillyak-screwed's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I know what you mean about some Walmarts. They have let them get run down. We have a brand new one and an older one near me. And it really makes a difference. The new one has is going on. Harvard ? Wow. I hope you are ok ? Last I saw you were trying to start a support group in SE Fl. I'm in the middle of the state, but the post caught my eye. You... -

ARCHIVED Costco Farm Raised Salmon
marciab replied to ms-sillyak-screwed's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I used to buy Coho Salmon at Publix at $9 for 12 oz, then I found the wild salmon at Walmart Supercenter. I've been eating for months now and never had a problem. It's always fresh, boneless and tastes as good as any other salmon. Unless you live in Alaska Be sure to thaw it before cooking. I usually forget to thaw it early, so I put the whole pkg... -

ARCHIVED When Are New Symptoms A Sign Of Healing ?
marciab replied to marciab's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Holy Crap !!! I just read the info on oral allergies. I eat everything they listed. Now, what am I going to eat ?? These weren't a problem until recently. I am hoping this oral allergy is just the result of drinking chamomile tea. That's when it all started. What next ? I am soooo tired of getting new symptoms. When is this going to end ... -

ARCHIVED When Are New Symptoms A Sign Of Healing ?
marciab replied to marciab's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for the replies, My lips are the same color as my finger tips when I squeeze them a little. Is this is a good color ? The other reason I am questioning this is that the tip of my tongue feels a little raw sometimes when I eat fruit. It showed up for the first time last week. At first it was cantaloupe and then plums. But then it cleared... -

ARCHIVED Am I Insane?
marciab replied to jnclelland's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I had to retry wheat 3 times before I could give it up. So, I understand completely. Now, I can honestly say I am not interested in trying wheat ever again. Each time the reactions took me at least a week to get over. I am still trying to convince myself that I should give up eggs. They kill me, but I keep trying them about once a month. The reaction... -

Thanks Annette, Wow, that is certainly good news. That is what I was hoping, but I wasn't sure. My lips have been pale forever and I honestly couldn't rember what the normal color was. -

ARCHIVED When Are New Symptoms A Sign Of Healing ?
marciab posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Is there any kind of time line available ? I have been thinking that since my body is getting nutrients for the first time ever, that some of my symptoms are a healthy sign. I have eaten junk / fast food all of my life, so my body is really freaking out. But, how do we know ? Is there any detailed info on the healing process ? Like at 6 months... -

If you are looking for wild salmon, Walmart supercenter has it in their frozen seafood section. It is $4 for a pound and is divided into 4 individually wrapped sections. The Mahi Mahi is also wild as well as the Cod. -

ARCHIVED Detecting Other Dietary Sensitivities
marciab replied to KerriAnne's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Kerri, My doctor told me that I had just become overly sensitive to the foods that I ate regularly. And that I had to eliminate the foods I had been eating all the time. And she told me that the key is to add new foods slowly and keep your stomach calm. Go back to safe foods everytime you eat something that hurts your stomach. This allows your digestive... -

ARCHIVED Healing The Celiac Brain, Can It Be Done ?
marciab replied to marciab's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
OMG, I bet you are right. My daughter is not gluten free so we still have it in the house all the time. And I used her teflon coated egg pan to fry my eggs in. Thanks for replying. I needed to hear from someone else who jerks too. Bizarre, isn't it ? My doc would have put me back on the Klonopin. I had been disregarding the cc...
