  3. Well, she went with the "no-boil" method. unfortunately, she did not cover the top layer with sauce. Hence, when I arrived home, she was befuddled as to why the top layers were "crispy". LOL Anyway, I did some patch up work with an extra can of spaghetti sauce (covered the top layers) and threw it back into the oven for 30 more minutes...
  4. Happy Birthday Tiff~ Chris
  5. Hey gang, The gluten-free is cooking me a gluten free dinner tonight. She is making lasagna. She wants to know how long to cook Tinkyada Lasagna in the water pot before layering in the lasagna pan. I told her it should be "al dente", but I don't know how long that is... Let me know ASAP. Thanks Chris
  6. As far as I know, some Red Robin's restaurants have separate fryers for their fries and some do not. If memory serves, the "corporate" red robins have dedicated fryers. The "franchisees" are not required to have dedicated fryers. You have to ask when you go to that respective Red Robin.
  7. My niece LOVES webkinz. For once she likes cheap toys...LOL
  8. Sad. Unfortunately, I dreaded this day was coming. Lawsuits would inevitably kill gluten free menus in many restaurants. AND I'M AN ATTORNEY! LOL Listen people, restaurants are not 100% sterile environments. They can't gurantee you a 100% gluten free meal! Its a fact of life. Life has risks. You can try and control and diminish risks as much as possible...
  9. FYI, In my bread maker, I put in half the yeast when mixing all ingredients. After a few minutyes of the bread maker mixing the ingredients, I then put the other half of the yeast packet in there. (I have a cuisinart breadmachine). I make my bread on the "white" setting and not the gluten free setting.
  10. I eat them on occasion. I have noticed some stomach issues with them, but its not a full blown Celiac reaction (something that many Celiacs confuse). Some of us need to understand that not every single tummy issue is Celiac-based. It might just be too much oil or fried food reaction or just an upset tummy. Some of us just can't handle fried foods...
  11. I made Happy Girls' Pumpkin Cheescake last night again One with crumbled chocolate cookie crust and one with ginger snap cookie crust Gonna be a feast on Sunday (I am holidng a gluten free Turkey Day at my house since my mom is in town and she is recently diagnosed and won't be bale to have one at home in Ohio)
  12. Bump It that time of year to make Happygirl's Pumpkin Cheesecake and Elfkin's yummy pumpkin bars...
  13. You didn't do anything wrong. Some people are ignorant. His parents sound incredibly naive and ignorant (though this is not all that shocking...unfortunately). Take the higher road. Attempt to educate if you can, otherwise, hold your ground, be strong and be the better person. Hope this helps... BB
  14. Just found out one of my friends from Ohio State is an actor on the show. He plays one of the new interns - guy with short curly blonde/brown hair. He didn't speak in the last episode, but he did say something like "lets go to the cafeteria" in last year's last epsiode. Weird seeing him on tv...LOL BB p.s. His name is Joe (in real life)

  16. Thanks Metta, I didn't think of it until we were on our way home to Vegas and I was like "OMG, I totally stiffed those guys with the appetizer and my beers..." I will send a check to her today. BB
  17. It was great to finally meet Lisa and Tom! (and Lisa's sis). Sorry we had to leave in such a hurry - we had fun though! I still liked the quattro formaggi pizza the best! It was heavenly! In our rush to leave, I think I may have forgotten to pay Dan for my gluten-free beers and gluten-free garlic/cheesy bread. If one of you paid for that, please let...
  18. I think Canal Fulton is near Akron, right? Not sure about places up there. In Cleveland, you can eat at Mitchell's Fish Market, Flemings Steakhouse, Carrabbas, PF Chang's, Abuelo's, Chili's, Macaroni Grill.
  19. p.s. Are we meeting at the one on Frank LLoyd Wright or the one on Scottdale Rd (There are 2 in Scottsdale) Thanks BB
  20. Looking forward to seeing you guys! My flight comes in at 10 a.m. My gluten-free will be picking me up and transporting us to Picazzos for some yummy gluten free piza (I like the southwest cheeseburger pizza or the B.L.T. pizza) and then we are off to root on her Seahawks as they play the Cardinals (one of my friends plays for the Cardinals, so I have...
  21. FYI, Creatine and most supplements give non-celiacs the runs and digestive trauma. As long as you are buying simple creatine and not Cell-Tech or other related products, there should be no gluten containing ingredients.
  22. I always order the pollo rosa maria (no glaze) and a cesar salad (dry, dressing on side, no croutons). I have never had a problem. You have to make sure they don't brush the chicken with the glaze - impress that upon your waiter!
  23. Mamaw, My mom is interested in attending the conference. Feel free to contact her (she is a member on here now) - JudyRn. What is the website for the conference? BB
