Deb, I lived in C-bus for 7 years... they have a good support group there called the "Gluten-Free Gang" -- they were pretty organized when I was there... VegasCeliacBuckeye replied to CarlaB's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Carla, ditto what Armela said... 1. Fix in the Bellagio is a good place (steak, lobster mashed potatoes, etc) 2. Samba in the Mirage -- Brazilian BBQ place - the chef knows about Celiac and one of the waitresses' mom has celiac disease. 3. Buffets are very dangerous -- cross contamination is rapant there -- but breakfast is do-able at those places... -

ARCHIVED Bleu Cheese Unsafe
VegasCeliacBuckeye replied to xcraigx's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Not all bleu cheeses are made with bread mediums -- some are made with separate mold mediums. Even if the bleu cheese is made with a bread medium, the chance of you getting "glutened" is pretty small... I eat bleu cheese all the time -- Gluten Free Living (a gluten-free magazine) just did a big article about this topic -- it will end up being a personal... -

ARCHIVED Mcd Fries 2: The Phone Calls :)
VegasCeliacBuckeye replied to ryebaby0's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Technically, that is incorrect. The new labeling laws do not require them to list them as no longer gluten free. Gluten free has not been defined by the FDA. Hence, I could fill a box full of flour and label it as gluten free and sell it... They DO HAVE to say if there is wheat in it though.... -

ARCHIVED Mcdonald's French Fries Not Safe?
VegasCeliacBuckeye replied to pixiegirl's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I have still never gotten sick from the fries (and I am very symptomatic)... In any event, I have read all of the posts on here -- I am going to side with Richard on this one for three reasons.. 1. McDonalds still maintains that their fries are Gluten Free -- if that is correct, then this was nothing more than overblown hyperbole. 2. McDonalds was... -
