  1. Andrea!! Good to see you back. Did you miss us? We were about to send out a search party for you
  2. Mango, Have a safe and happy trip! I hope this experience is everything you want it to be and more! I'll look forward to hearing from you whenever you get a chance to check in.
  3. Hi Betty I don't know what the doctor was talking about, either! After being gluten-free for 7 months, I wouldn't expect to find any damage. The villi can heal pretty quickly--of course that dosen't mean that we feel better right away! Anyway, I can't be of any help with the blood test result--I never had the blood testing. I'm glad to hear that...
  4. Julie, I've used Claritan for years and have never noticed any side effects from it. According to my allergist, the older, non-sedating antihistimines can cause an increase in appetite.
  5. Hi Charlie, Sorry, I meant to answer you before. I do have problems with a lot of suppliments that I have verified gluten-free. Freeda Vitamins comes to mind--they caused me stomach upset right away. I have yet to find a digestive enzyme or probiotic that agrees with me. I used Culturelle (probiotic) and became nauseous with got D within a few days. ...
  6. This is true--especially in children, whose eyes can change quite a bit in a short time. My son was in 2nd grade when we found out he needed glasses. He had been having headaches--that's what brought us to the eye doctor. His left eye was weaker than his right. Although he was seeing the board at school, etc, the act of trying to "regulate" what each...
  7. Julie--I just saw your new pretty picture on another thread. I love your hair in it!
  8. I'm intolerant to corn, and react to all forms of it--whole corn, corn syrup, chips, etc. I get lower abdominal cramping and not-quite D, but uncomfortable. My stomach gets bloated, and I'm gassy for a day or 2 after eating the corn. I avoid it completely now. I can see how one would react to a cup that was derived from corn, I wouldn't even try it...
  9. Hi Lisa Looks like you've "turned the corner"! So glad to hear it
  10. I use Claritan--I've used it for many years.
  11. Somehow, I managed to respond inside of your post! Sorry!
  12. I use Vance's Dari Free. It's good used either as a liquid, or dry.
  13. Now I know what you mean--I'm pretty sure Vincent knows how to do that. He'll be along soon, I'm sure
  14. Not quite sure what you mean--a new avatar?
  15. Good to know that you're home safe, Lisa. Scary stuff. Try to get a good night's sleep--definately get in touch with your doctor tomorrow to find out the best way to go about this.
  16. I like Giovanni and ShiKai--both are very good and don't contain harsh detergents.
  17. Lisa, I don't know anything about Lexipro, so I don't know if that's what is causing this. I am worried about you--are you home alone? Is your husband there? I would call my doctor and see wht he/she says. I know it's Sunday, but I think you should get a professional opinion. Hopefully someone familiar with the drug and it's side effects when weaning...
  18. So do I! This seemed like a good idea a couple weeks ago, but then it got hot, and my husband has been busy with work, and it seems like everythings upside down and just not going fast enough for me! I'm doing the trim and lots of cutting in, but this morning I put painter's tape all around the baseboards and then just quit--I just feel "blah" and am not...
  19. Hi Linda! Welcome to the board I think your doctor is very wise. I'm glad that the diet is working out so well for you. I would suggest looking into Enjoy Life Foods--they are a company that does not use the top 8 allergens in their foods, and are a dedicated gluten-free facility. Here is a link Open Original Shared Link Let us know if...
  20. Hi Susan--sounds like a nice way to spend a hot afternoon! We're getting a one-day break from the heat today. It's in the low 80's with bearable humidity. Back to hot and humid tomorrow, but this is a nice break! I even turned off the A/C and opened the windows That's great about your new Celiac friend. Wonder if he'll check into R'ville? Sounds...
  21. Yes, the wait can be that long here. When one of my sons was younger, we took him to the e-room for severe swelling of his shin after a fall. Not an emergency--he wasn't in great pain, but it was a Sunday, he was my first, and I worried about everything. We waited about 3-4 hours to be seen. On the other hand, when my husband--with severe bee sting...
  22. Yikes Carrie--she obviously didn't look at your chart!
  23. Lisa--Yes, it is salicylic acid (aspirin) that is "buffered" to make it easier on the stomach. Here's a link for more info--just click on "more information after the Extra Strength-- Open Original Shared Link
  24. Ravenwood, That is amazing news. I wasn't aware that you and you husband lived apart. What a shame that all this time you were both so deeply under the influence of gluten. That makes me sad. I lived with the same kind of fog that must have seemed, on the surface, to look like indifference. I hope that now your family will come to a place of healing....
  25. Hi Lisa--I use Bufferin. All types of Bufferin are gluten-free *except* for the 325 mg. size.
