  1. all crest products are gluten free, according to the manufacturer. in theory deoderant shouldn't matter, but most of us like to be 'complete'. I know dove is gluten-free, do not know for sure about the others, but believe they are.   2. Since you are scheduled for a biopsy, do NOT go gluten free until after your biopsy. You have celiac disease (since your blood test is positive) but some doctors want the biopsy since celiac is technically defined by damage to the intestines, and you 'have to see it to believe it'.   5. Just to clarify (lots of people seem confused on this one), the baby died from having potassium levels that were too high. The drugs were supposed to bring them down, but they didn't because they weren't absorbed due to the previously existing (and apparently extensive) damage. I don't know if you can get Paxil compounded, but if weaning off slowly is needed, you might see if you can get it compounded into a liquid so that it's easier to cut the dosage slowly, but accurately. It may be more expensive, but it also sounds like getting off it successfully is important to you. :-) Good luck! :-)
  7. you could get lactose free milk, or take lactaid (the lactase enzyme that will digest the milk sugar that your body can't digest on its own). or you could try rice milk, almost milk, or a nut milk. vance's dari-free is an option as well, based on potatoes, but you would have to mail order it.

  12. your lips, as they get "pre-chapped" (my name ;-) ) change colour a bit here and there - they're not the exact same color every hour of every day. as long as they're not looking blue or purple, it's unlikely to be a big problem. keep an eye on them from time to time over the next three weeks and see how they change.
  13. That is not true. Even vodka distilled from wheat does not have gluten in it because the distillation process simply doesn't allow a molecule as large as gluten through.   14. Actually, this is a celiac urban myth. No company in the US has been confirmed to have gluten in the envelop adhesive, and companies who produce the glue that have been called so far have all noted that they do NOT have gluten in their adhesive.

Top of the list: orange juice, beet greens, spinach, tomato sauce, winter squash, papaya, lentils, beans (white, pinto, kidney, etc.), sweet potato, carrot juice, potatoes, buckwheat, bananas (all are 500mg or more per serving)
  16. I don't use air fresheners or perfumes... (Well, I do have two lotions that have scent in them, I checked the ingredients, the scents coming from essential oils only.) I open the windows... That's about it. :-) Sorry, not much help on this one.
  17. yeah... it's frustrating dealing with all that modified food! well... if you head out to wild oats, grab some yogurt starter (you can even use the low fat stuff for that), and make your own with whole milk! don't forget to grab some nuts from the regular stores too. btw, eggs taste great w/ rice cakes :-)

  19. I find that, once you get used to the taste, for veggies and most other things, using canola or olive oil works fine. Canola for 'bread' baking or high heat cooking (like hot stir-fries), and olive oil other baking (vegetables/meats) and sautees. Olive oil is really surprisingly versatile if you make use of aromatics properly when using it.

  21. yep, stick to pure maple syrup and you're good. I prefer to use fruit preserves on my pancakes personally, or just plain fresh chopped fruit! :-)
  22. Yes, for many people, symptoms subside, or change dramatically (so they no longer think it's celiac) during their teens and twenties.
