    ARCHIVED Dh On Face?

Thanks so much for pointing this out to me, I actually get them inside my mouth too, especially all over my front and middle palate... Extremely painful when eating...
  3. Sorry, Colleen about answering your Garam Masala question again... I am still new to this forum and have just discovered how to retrieve messages further down the thread!!
  4. It is actually called Garam Masala, and it is a space mixture from India - you can buy them already prepared in shops, but I would be careful because some mixtures might have some flower in them... However, the mixture is one of my favourite spice blends, just sprinkle on chicken breast, steaks, etc before grilling- also you can use it to make up marinades...
  5. I have actually been very lucky with my family... Before I had my endoscopy which confirmed what I already knew, I had already been gluten free for two months - and I had to do a gluten challenge for the diagnosis... When I timidly started cooking gluten free I would at first do one thing for myself and another for everyone else, and one day my daughters...
  6. Ha, ha, I was in exactly the same situation just last week.... In the recovery room after my endoscopy, where the surgeon had explained that he had seen abnormalities in the lining that he was confident suggested celiac, the nurse who assisted during the procedure said to me... "Now, pet, you sit here for a bit and I'll bring you a nice cup of tea and a...

    ARCHIVED Dh On Face?

Hi again, I think DH mainly appears around the neck and scull area in the upper body, but I have seen photos of a lady in the celiac.com photo bank who had it in the face I think.... Especially during the second part of the challenge ( w 5- 9) I also constantly had herpes-like ulcers in and around my mouth.. Charming!! But I get something like DH on my upper...
  8. I am not too good with gluten free products , but I am also extremely sensitive to gluten full products- I try to keep my diet conservative and I feel great if I do so-except of gluten free bread, soya sauce, pasta and flower I make my own food from scratch almost always. Also I find gluten free products quite off putting- just looking at the list of ingredients...
  9. I find I have to do everything in the morning when I am most energetic - I have slow cooker and prepare some stew in it or even chicken with veg and potatoes, soup whilst making breakfast- so that I can take it easy and rest for the day. Also on an energetic day I often cook two meals at once and freeze one (something like bolognaise sauce- make a lot in...
  10. Ah yes, I had forgotten those fabulous doughnuts.... And through some bagels in tooooo- they made me so sooo illll- I think they have extra gluten.
  11. Also you mentioned you had been eating some cheesy dish- I get horrendous diarrhoea and bloating when I have any Dariry products which are not dairy free-!! And I have also found that after going gluten free for a while, my lactose intolerance got worse... Good luck!
  12. The way I coped with it is, I just ate everything gluten full I really like which is dangerous and I will probably never be able to eat again! Examples, lasagna, cupcakes, yucky sweet birthday cake with synthetic icing, Oreos, etc.. Good luck, just go for it, you will need it you will feel crap!!
  13. We have cleared a whole cupboard in the kitchen to store gluten free foods separately from non gluten-free together with a new toaster, plastic spoons for cooking, new chopping boards, etc

    Day Thirty One

Oh dear, poor you- I had my biopsy yesterday and although I still have not received the results, the doctor was able to see "scallopings" that suggested celiac!! And I was told to go gluten free again! Hang in Porcelina, there is an end to this nightmare!!
  16. Or also some autoimmune upheaval. For example in my case the first time it manifested itself was about 15 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter i developed a rash I thought was chicken pocks- which seemed to come up every couple of years or so... Now I know it was not that I constantly caught the disease, it was actually DH!! Today I had a biopsy...
  17. Thanks Colleen for your support!
  18. In the research literature they often mention that the onset of celiac symptoms are in many cases connected to surgery or stressful and traumatic events in an individual's life.
  19. There are a number of reasons why one would do such an insane thing as a complete a gluten challenge and feel absolutely rotten for days on end. In my particular case I live in a country where the National Health Service is desperate to save money... My children display many celiac type symptoms I have already been to the doctors several times - diagnosis...
  20. Oh no, I am so sorry to hear you are not better yet.. Hang I there!!
  21. Poor thing- I had a horrendous reaction to Gluten when I had to introduce it as part of my challenge- I haven't been so Ill constantly for years... I really hope you have some resolution- you might just have been glutened without knowing it...
  22. Yes, I have had horrendous muscle and joint pain like daggers for years now- i have also been going back and forth to doctors for years now- and had pints and pints of blood for tests taken- I am so tired of it as no painkiller seems to work either. This Summer I was very ill with D and my local village doctor suggested I try a gluten exclusion diet- I felt...
  23. Spain is a wonderful country where peoples are becoming more and more aware of gluten sensitivities. For example it was precisely ia doctor in a small village of 400 inhabitants in Spain where it was suggested to me I might be celiac, after having been treated for nearly 20 years for ulcerative colitis in uk and no one ever thought of testing me even though...
  24. Whenever I have Indian curry cooked with ghee I don't feel too good afterwards...
  25. Today I had a wonderful smoked salmon and. Lactose free cream cheese salad.
