  1. You know, all I used to feel like eating was German rye bread with butter and cheese. I loved it, I craved it, I couldn't live without it. Now I have to live without ALL of it! And life goes on. You're right, you gotta do what you gotta do. If it makes you feel better, and you know the stuff you crave will make you feel terrible and will eventually kill...
  2. Okay, I've been avoiding this thread, knowing I shouldn't. MyThreeSons, if you'd combine your three sons into one, you'd have me. I have AS, TS and almost all the sensory issues in that list (and a few that aren't on that list). But I am not undersensitive for the most part. Tags drive me out of my mind (I have to cut out the tags and wash everything...
  3. I heard that in France they massage your head before they cut your hair, I think I'd slap them! Which would be an instant reaction, I'd feel like being attacked. Ugh, how awful.
  4. Adelle, what did you put into your batter?
  5. Thanks guys, you gave me the courage to go on again. Nantzie, thank you so much, that sounds like a great idea. I guess I'll have to get that book. But if you want to get me started by sending me those two prayers, I'd appreciate it. Sorry, Robbin and Daffadilly and everybody else who replied, that I didn't reply to your thoughtful, compassionate posts...
  6. Good thing I was always happy with my hair color (it used to be strawberry blonde, now it is more auburn). I never had the urge to color it. And grey hair doesn't run in my family, so I don't have to worry about that (at least not yet). I have six brothers and a sister, ranging in age from 42 to 54, and none of them have grey hair or are going bald. And...
  7. Yeah, that another thing. No matter the question, nobody treats you like you're stupid for asking it. There is no such a thing as a stupid question on this board. It's so nice.
  8. Well, Ursula is my name, I don't like using a nick. As to what it means..............Ursula is latin for 'she bear'.
  9. Follow this link to get his story: Scott Adams' Story of His Diagnosis of Celiac Disease

    ARCHIVED Dove?

I have been wondering the same thing. By using Dove shampoo and conditioner I am going on faith here, that the info I am getting from this site is accurate. Because the ingredients aren't listed on Dove products here. But since I really reacted to the products I was using before (who were all natural, and clearly listed wheat germ oil), and have been fine...
  11. No you're not stupid.........you just had a moment of.....insanity? Seriously, I guess you just got overwhelmed by temptation and gave in. I've done it a couple of times. And was that stupid? Sure. Does that make me a stupid person? NO WAY! (okay, I hope I convinced myself there ). I hope you feel better soon.
  12. Almost a year ago, in October, I suddenly realized that BREAD was making me so sick. When I put celiac disease into the google search engine, this site came up. After reading Scott's info, I knew I had all the symptoms of celiac disease, and eliminated gluten. Then I came onto the forum. Within a week somebody posted a link on lectins, so I cut those...
  13. Yep, Steve is a good man, even if I don't always appreciate his point of view! Still, it's possible to agree to disagree and be friends, anyway. We have a lot in common.
  14. What do you mean that you have no real point, sure you do! Good for you for going gluten-free, and for now making your daughter be gluten-free, too. I am sure both of you will feel better without gluten. As for the preschool snacks, I have seen gluten-free animal crackers somewhere, somebody else who has little kids with celiac disease will be...
  15. As said already, yes, you may completely recover from the damage done to your body. But in order to STAY well, you will have to stay off gluten forever. That's a fact of life, and we all have to get used to it, even if it's hard. So, if you are asking if you can recover from being gluten intolerant, the answer is 'no'. It is genetic, and you're asking...
  16. Steve, I hope you cooled the burns immediately with cold, running water for at least five minutes, that usually takes care of minor burns. If you haven't done that, it's still not too late to do it, it will still help. Do you know first aid? Don't do something like putting butter on, that's dangerous (and very old advice).
  17. Well, since graham flour (or graham crackers, I am not sure what you mean with graham) is really a kind of whole wheat flour, which of course is loaded with gluten, you might be right in thinking that your son may be gluten intolerant. All his symptoms, including the ADHD could potentially be caused by celiac disease. You're on the right track, and I think...
  18. Oh, you guys almost had me fooled, I was looking at those crazy 'quotes' for a long time before I realized that you were probably teasing each other...............I am sooo gullible! But you should never stop celebrating birthdays, you are as old (or young) as you are, nothing you can do about it, you might as well celebrate while you can!
  19. Robbin and Celia, you have me awfully confused, you're just teasing each other, right? And was it your birthday, too? Happy birthday to the two of you as well, in that case!
  20. Cool, I like it!
  21. I get those awful heart palpitations constantly (and my naturopath agreed I have adrenal fatigue, too). I also had it very badly when I was anemic. And consistently not getting enough sleep will also cause all kinds of problems, including adrenal fatigue.
  22. Alison, I saw what you said to Evie, that you shared the same birthday! So, even though it is now obviously a day late, I still want to say: Happy late Birthday, Fiddle-Faddle!
  23. Evie, the ddog just about killed me, you're taking the dear everything to the next level, I think. I am glad you had a good time!
  24. Hi Melissa, and welcome to this board. To answer your questions: Yes, gluten will be passed to the baby through breastmilk. But since you're going gluten-free anyway, that shouldn't be a problem, right? I hope you see an improvement in both yourself and the baby on a gluten-free diet. Yes, celiac disease definitely causes rashes and eczema, as...
  25. The advice you've had this far is excellent advice. I just want to add that sometimes bowel problems (especially not knowing you have to go) can be related to misaligned vertebra (the cause can be as innocent as falling on your bum, which little kids do all the time). So, not to miss anything, I'd also see a chiropractor and have him checked and adjusted...
