  1. I would definitely request that the full celiac panel be run on you. Like Karen said though you need to be eating gluten for accurate results. Keep us posted!
  2. I'm sorry. That is very difficult. I do hope that you can find a new position in no time. I like the above suggestion of checking w unemployment for some help/suggestions. I can't be around the flour. My house is completely cleared of it. I can't imagine being in a position at diagnosis of working with it. Best of luck to you.
  3. That is sweet. I hope your kidneys are okay. Keep us posted on the testing you have to have done.
  4. Thank you all. I appreciate your responses.
  5. Agree with the others. Let us know when you get your results! And good luck starting the new diet. Hoping you feel better before you know it!
  6. Curious to hear your results! Also, hope you don't have to wait too long for your thyroid results! Keep us posted!
  7. I have the UltraInflamX but have not yet tried it. Maybe this week. I bought it recently after asking my gastro what she thought about my trying it. My cousin uses it for another issue and I figured I could at least try it and if it doesn't help me at all I could give it to her and not feel like I completely wasted the money. Let us know if you try something...
  8. I agree with the others. Hang in there. You'll get used to this and soon you'll hardly notice the ignorant comments. Or even feeling better will help them not bother you as much. People just do not understand. Give your time and attention to the ones that at least try to. Good luck on your apartment search!
  9. I'm having a hard time with sugar. I'm also craving it! Not a good combo! How bad is your reaction?
  10. I'm late to this thread. Let us know what the doctor says! Good luck!
  11. I've just recently hit the 7 month mark of being gluten free. (Diagnosed in Nov) I am curious from a celiac disease standpoint - does anyone else here get completely beat when you've overdone it? Or did you while your body was still adjusting or in recovering phase? I've done a lot more yesterday and today than I normally do in a day or have been able...
  12. I still feel new to all of this so I don't feel like I can be of help but I wanted to wish you well and hope you get some answers soon. I was diagnosed in November with Celiac's and in March with lupus. I was just hoping the joint issues, sun sensitivity, etc were a result of celiac's. This can all be so confusing. Keep us posted. Do you think your vitamin...
  13. Good news! I hope as you heal those symptoms disappear for you. Let us know how your sleep test and MCAS go. So glad you had good news at the cardiologist!
  14. For sure. Thanks, Colleen. I was just curious if anyone here has ever used it.
  15. I was just curious whether or not anyone has used this product: (below is just information on it that I copied/pasted from the Metagenics website) Open Original Shared Link UltraInflamX® PLUS 360° is a medical food formulated to provide specialized nutritional support for patients with compromised gut function reflective of an inflammatory r...
  16. Did the cardiologist do a EKG on Monday? Let us know how your ultrasound goes today. I know this is all so scary. I hope someone else can chime in with more experience. I had a cardiology appointment not long ago because of symptoms but was cleared. Was basically told if symptoms persist to go back in six months for reevaluation. Just wanted to offer some...
  17. I hope your May appointment goes well. That is if you haven't already had it. Marilyn - are there certain foods you avoid because of lupus? I know alfalfa and echinachea are no's but anything else?
  18. I hope she'll run that blood work for you!
  19. Just felt like starting a new thread. Got home from the local Celiac walk a little bit ago. The rain held off and there were quite a few people there. Lots of good gluten-free food and money raised for research. Hoping to get involved more so I can help out with this walk for next year! Is there a walk near where you live? Open Original Shared Link
  20. I was diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus from the same endoscopy I was diagnosed with celiac's. (Biopsy was 11/14/2013) I was suprised by the barrett's diagnosis. One of my doctor's told me it could be related and another told me there was no relation. I am starting my 6th month gluten free and this issue has not yet resolved for me. I will have a repeat...
  21. The toaster, collanders, wooden/plastic cooking utensils, collanders, anything plastic, etc. I even replaced my canister set because the rims of the tops had plastic in order to suction/securely close. I didn't want to take a chance; I figured the flour wouldn't get out of the plastic no matter how hard I tried. You shouldn't have to worry about rice, I don...
  22. I agree with Karen. Get the blood work so you know where your levels are now and they can be monitored. It's nice to see them come down after 3 and 6 months on the diet. Then for future blood work as well. I would also request that they check you for any vitamin deficiencies. Happens often with celiac disease and you may need to supplement with vitamins....
