  1. Haha...I didn't even think of looking through the posts. I'm just a little excited and acting spur of the moment right now.
  2. I've had that convo with her...she has a full panel done every year. So far she has lucked out.
  3. Does anyone have any 100% gluten free restaurants in their area? If so, where and what restaurants? I can't say exactly why I'm asking, but I will say it's not to go visit them right now.
  4. I get the a lot from someone I know only because she knows what her mom (celiac and about 20 other food allgergies/intolerances) can't have and she tends to get it mixed up occasionally why her mom can't have it, whether it's got gluten or something else her mom can't have. (She is a blonde though, so that might be part of the reason she gets confused )
  5. 8675309...I can't remember the rest of the song. Lol
  6. I didn't want the recipe, I wanted you to send me a couple jars of it!
  7. I misunderstood your question... I think the saying started before my time. I'm a little young to remember.
  8. Isn't it great to feel great!
  9. Haha...I wish. I still haven't seen her again. :-/
  10. Peed in your Wheaties...when someone pees in your cereal, it ruins the cereal. (However, I don't care if someone pees in my Wheaties since I can't even eat Wheaties.
  11. Send me some of the applesauce!
  12. I was trying to not think about that factor quite yet...
  13. I have been looking for a celiac/NCGI support group in my area, and haven't found one within 100 miles (closest was about 120 miles). That is, until a couple days ago. I was googling reviews for gluten free menus at local restaurants, and found a review posted on Facebook by a group page called "Hold The Gluten Support Group". Not wanting to get my hopes...
  14. That tells me either she gets a lot of gluten free people, or she is actually knowledgeable of the gluten free diet. We hope for the latter.
  15. Sorry, but I'm bald right now, and make-up has never really been my thing, but this one line here i just can't resist it....Voldemort has celiac?
  16. Blessedmommy, please send me your bread recipes! I HiketheAT, if I understand your post right, you are not near any big cities or towns, I'm guessing just the local country stores. As far as getting your hands on some gluten free items, run a google search for gluten free foods and look at the shopping section. A lot of the time you can order stuff online...
  17. Wait, "normal" actually exists?? I thought it was a myth.
  18. To solve the puzzle of his labs being normal now after 4 years, see if the same lab was used every time before you used mayo clinic (the doc should have that info, may take a couple days if it's from different docs ordering the blood work). But as far as seeing if the normal doc is having inaccurate lab results, go ahead and have them draw the blood Monday...
  19. Ted's Montana Grill (with bison burgers) has a good sized gluten free menu. I have not eaten there since my Dx, but I did eat there once with a group and 1 person in the group has celiac and said she NEVER had a problem there. (And the manager came out and knew her name like an old friend, so I tend to believe that one.) If anyone is I ever in Rome, GA...
  20. What time is dinner tomorrow?? If I leave soon, I might make it in time.
  21. With traveling for 6 days, and you do have 3 weeks to prepare, I would go ahead and start the gluten free diet. As others said, get a cooler, pack gluten free snacks, bread, etc. there are coolers you can plug into the power adapter in the car to provide power like a fridge. However, I'm sure y'all don't want to eat snacks and sandwiches every day. You will...
  22. Bakergirl, welcome the the forum! Your tests can't even see the normal range. It's like your test results are the top of Mount Everest and normal the the base of the mountain. Your doctor ran 3 celaic tests and all 3 came back positive. If your doctor insists on a biopsy, which is pointed out has a 20% chance of a false negative, he probably wants the money...
  23. As far as BCBS covering the blood tests, there should be no issue with it at all. But depending on what policy you have exactly, they may want a "valid reason" (basically your doctor telling them why they feel it's necessary) for an endoscopy with biopsy. Make sure when you talk to your doctor about symptoms you tell them everything that's going on. There...
  24. So I just found the perfect lunch date place. I think I'm gonna change my plan to lunch instead of coffee. It's a quaint little sandwich shop in the square. I just had lunch there, and when I ordered my sandwich with gluten free bread, they asked what side and only listed the gluten free sides. I was able to watch in the huge kitchen window as they wrapped...
