ARCHIVED Corn & Soy AvoidanceEnnis-TX replied to weekendwarrior's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Corn is a bloody nightmare to remove, Have to watch out for maltodextrin, modified food starch, baking powder, some vegetable fibers, vegetable oils, corn syrups etc. I only use certain brands myself to avoid. If your eating processed foods, (which you should be on a whole foods only diet for the first for months to boost healing) I might suggest Enjoy Life...

I eat pretty much grain free just fine, I eat fats instead. But on a side note I posted some specialty and grain free options as of late in the food alternative page where I list companies and food product alternatives. I honestly just welcomed bread back into my life, I found a company that makes grain free bread out of nut flours. Given you have to toast...

ARCHIVED Horrific alcohol reactionEnnis-TX replied to Stephanie kate's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease What did you drink and where did you drink it? NOTE if you drink something at a bar using their glasses your asking for trouble BEER IS EVERYWHERE in most bars and a CC hell. If it was at home and a non grain based liqour then I would be really concerned that it might just be alcohol. I personally can not really drink much of anything any more. I love...

ARCHIVED ???Ennis-TX replied to M-SMOOTH's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease I can only think of two things, 1 something you put on your potato was contaminated like the butter container could have crumbs in it or something like that as mentioned before, and you could be having a reaction to dairy or what ever was put in it.......IF it was just plain potato and you reacted with bloating and cramping you might have a carb issues, tad...

Since my new diet change due to the UC and complete keto I feel great so much energy and a clear mind. I started working on a new business idea, I have always dreamed of the culinary arts and doing a full on kitchen or restaurant. But made due to the cottage home bakery and selling Artisan Almond butters and baked goods at the farmers markets. I wish to...

These can be sourced from various ingredients one being wheat. Please check with the manufacture of your products to figure out if they contain gluten or how they are made....and yes gluten in your makeup, and especially lotion, shower gel, etc is a huge issues. ARCHIVED ????Ennis-TX replied to M-SMOOTH's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease MC can be quite harsh as a laxative if your using it as one very effective....I mean 2 boxes of exlax did me nada back then. For a daily supplement try just taking Nature Vitality Calm twice daily start off with 1/4tsp work your way up to 1tsp doses if you can. If this is too harsh on you use a Magnesium Glycinate like Doctors best, less effective as a laxative...

ARCHIVED Intersting read on capsium, marijuna and your gut.Ennis-TX replied to Ennis-TX's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease OH odd info here but the best way I found found to use it is a slow low temp extraction into coconut oil, and using this oil in cooking. Use a mortar and pestal to grind your greens into a fine powder, and heat slowly in a pan with virgin coconut oil just very low temp for a while you will see the oils from the greens mix with the coconut oil. You can then...

ARCHIVED ????Ennis-TX replied to M-SMOOTH's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Yeah pretty standard, I also have neurological symptoms. Magnesium helps with the constipation and if you have any issues with nerve pain, numbness, prickly feelings, etc. ......I used to go 8-12 days of constipation.....was hell nothing made it move unless I drank 2 whole bottles of magnesium citrate maximum strength laxative.

ARCHIVED Intersting read on capsium, marijuna and your gut.Ennis-TX posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Open Original Shared Link Found this and found it interesting, I will admit I love making edibles and it always seemed to help with my gut lol. "Your gut is something of an Open Original Shared Link mystery. Unlike the rest of the body, which tends to treat foreign invaders with a singular purpose—seek and destroy—the stomach cannot aff...

ARCHIVED GYM/"GLUTENATED"Ennis-TX replied to KathleenH's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease They say you should not work out if your sick or dealing with such issues. I on the other hand do the opposite I will work out even if running a fever, I feel lost if I do not, and the endorphins help me feel fullfilled and relaxed......I have a few other issues as well >.> sitting still causes me to have mini panic attacks. I actually have to be on...

Above is some great suggestions, read the 101 if you have not already and toss all your gluten items, clean out everything and make a safe living environment. I would as mentioned start off on a whole foods only diet, fresh vegetables, and meats cooked in water into stews in a crock pot are really easy to digest and can mixed up in various ways. Using crockpot...

A protein in corn that can be utilized by itself as a thickening agent or extracted in some cases to be used as a protein additive in highly processed foods like some process meats, gravy, sauces, etc. More often found in pet foods. Not related to wheat gluten or something the typical celiac needs to worry about. Me on the other hand am highly allergic to...

ARCHIVED Dairy intolerance? Maybe?Ennis-TX replied to Mermaid's Mom's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Silk Cashew milk is pretty creamy and close to dairy milk, I love Macadamia milk, almond milk is a tad thin in most brands but a good sub and normally enriched with calcium, vitamin D and E. Coconut milk is a bit acquired and can range greatly in consistency, rice milk is normally very thin like 2% school carton milk and bland. Elmhurst Harvest has started...

ARCHIVED Dairy intolerance? Maybe?Ennis-TX replied to Mermaid's Mom's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Could be we generally say get off of dairy for a few months when going gluten free. The part of the intestines that produce the enzymes, and help break down dairy are associated with the tips of the villi, which are the most damaged if not gone in celiacs. THIS is why most of us end up with a lactose intolerance early on. And most can introduce it later after...

I will say what everyone else says and get tested again with the endoscope and biopsy to confirm, you will need to be on gluten for 12 weeks for blood test 2 weeks for endoscope at least a slice of bead a day. The thing about celiac is many symptoms can be quite minor, hell even before I had my MAJOR symptoms show I had some of the other issues show...

ARCHIVED Gluten Digest Pills? A Cure Or Not Even Close?Ennis-TX replied to Harley0000's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs There is currently not any enzymes you take that will get rid of gluten, they are working on a promising one to reduce symptoms but all others out there right now are a bust and will not help you much if it all with gluten exposure, Celiac is a auto immune disease, your reacting to the proteins of gluten and it is attacking them and your own body. I do suggest...
