  1. Your getting plenty of proteins for once and I would drop the L-glutamine supplement what brand is it? Paleo Protein as in the brand? They were not gluten free last I checked, I got sick from it 2 years ago or so when they changed to a non dedicated facility.
  2. I second cycling lady here, you should not go gluten free unless your doctor confirms you have celiac disease via the blood test and a biopsy. You need to be eating gluten for the testing to be accurate so a 30 day trial based on the gene is a REALLY bad idea, getting back on gluten for the testing is a nightmare once out of your system. Also going gluten...
  3. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/116482-supplement-and-foods-you-take/ ^ I did this a while back where some of us have posted what we take and eat to get our nutrients. Mines changed a bit since then since I can not eat any grains, sugars or fruits.
  4. Everything with the gluten-free certification must be below 20ppm in a lab test. THAT is much much less then a crumb. Toasters are cheap just get a new ones. If you eat whole foods only your chances are much much less of getting CCed. We normally suggest no gluten-free processed foods (dough, mixes, chips, crackers. breads etc) for the first few months only...

    ARCHIVED feeling weak

    1. Double checked your antibodies? 2. Those of us with celiac have issues with some nutrients for various reasons, being either we can not absorb enough of them from our foods due to damage to intestines or the new gluten-free foods you changed to are non fortified and do not contain the nutrients you which is especially true if you eat a bunch of processed...
  6. If she is overly depressed about it let her know there is a gluten-free version of just about every food out there and it is more like changing brands. I have a list of it, for now she needs to focus on simple whole foods and healing in a few months she can try a few of the gluten-free versions of her old foods. BTW might try making her some simple food foods...
  7. Sounds like gluten ataxia, or the form of celiac I have where it also attacks my nervous system and brain. I would get a celiac test if I was you, you have to be eating at least half a slice of bread or a few crackers for 12 weeks before hand and go to your doctor and ask for a full celiac panel. From there you need to be eating it for still and get a endoscope...
  8. Your issues is probably with the carbs then. there is a alternative. best pricing is miracle noodle. For Konjac rice substitute. Konjac flour works with some people others it does not. Open Original Shared Link There is a trick to cooking it but they make no carb noodles, and rice. I use the rice to make all kinds of rice like dishes like my mothers...
  9. ???? Lundberg do not use oats in ANY of their products. check the grains section Open Original Shared Link I guess try lotus if it still bothers you.....you might be like me and all grains/carbs cause some kind of gut issues. I had to go paleo/keto.....thought for years it was just bad gut bacteria but ended up being another AI issues that reacted to...
  10. When I was changing doctors due to insurance issues, I got one doc who I told I had celiac, and had been gluten-free for 2 years. He ordered a blood test and said I DID NOT have celiac cause the blood test came back negative....I looked at him like it was crazy, told him course your not going to detect the antibodies in test if I am not eating it. Told him...
  11. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/117090-gluten-free-food-alternatives-list/ Check Lundberg on that list, I do not eat carbs myself but I used to use that brand. They have all kinds of rice based meals and foods and gluten-free certifications last I checked.
  12. While informative.....you just responded to a post from 10 years ago.....
  13. You would honestly think that after you body goes nuts attacking your insides trying to kill the gluten after 2 days of food poisoning yourself with it the damn antibodies would show up in insane levels in your blood Life is not that easy though.
  14. You should probably have your doctor run a full blood panel for celiac if you want to be tested right, followed by a endoscope and biopsy. The blood test can give false negatives, and you have to be eating gluten for at least 12 weeks daily for the test. On the ferritin levels, mine was consistently 1-3 on every test even with 2x the normal dose of iron...
  15. Mine is really small, cord folds up inside it and fits in a drawer 5.9 x 10.6 x 17.7 inches .Open Original Shared Link Again I got mine on a huge sale. If you need smaller and do not mind paying more in the long run for special bags Open Original Shared Link NOW if you want to take a non portable/take with me on trip version. Nordicware makes steam...
  16. I got a the vacuum sealer on a black Friday sale a few years ago for like $24, and bulk bought some of the rolls you make into bags got the good double sided thick ones.
  17. Might be something else in there, perhaps he ate something else with gluten, something was mixed in the chips, the chips were flavored or in a snack mix with pretzels. I get that way with gluten, but the last 2 times the gut issues render me unable to argue like that but I do go Mr. Hyde like =. Seems to be linked to my mental confusion that arises when I...
  18. I hate to say it and be Mr. Negative ass here. But I had this exact same thought about having kids, I do not wish any kids I have to have my AI issues, and decided I would wait a few decades if need be for the new gene editing things they are working on so we can have them changed. Call me crazy.
  19. Unsure but I would say wheat, when making that kind of soup you normally use wheat base flour as a thickening agent when preparing the soup. Often formed into a roux with the meat juices after cooking the meat and before adding the rest. Yeah I have issues with the pick up thing too, never accidentally ordered but I have to call them after every order...
  20. ...I make my own, food saver bags, vacuum sealer, throw in veggies, pieces of meat, etc. add a bit of seasonings liquid smoke, sauces etc. Depending on sauce I sometimes freeze first then seal so they are not messy or seal then freeze. All I have to do is take it out poke holes in the bag put it in the microwave and zap it...instant steam pouch.
  21. Magnesium Citrate....only thing that ever worked for me, You can get the laxative form in a bottle of liquid. or you can use Natural Vitality Calm and 2-6x the dose on it. No seriously nothing else ever works for my gluten constipation... 1 whole bottle of miralax.....nothing....2 boxes of exlax...nothing....1 1/2 bottle magnesium citrate and I go in...
  22. I also have a high allergy to corn....it is in everything and everywhere. Really makes life tough as it is undeclared ingredient in some proprietary blends, spices, etc. Also used under many many other names, from fiber, matodextrin, vegetable fiber, and some that make no sense at all.
  23. Try the blood test for the gluten antibodies as mentioned above first to make sure there is no gluten sneaking in. Might try extending the elimination diet trial runs by a few days. ALSO random thought, I personally sometimes get a flare up from eating a food that did not bother me for days and it bothers my UC just randomly. And I have to remove it...
  24. First have you been tested for celiac? A blood test is needed to test for it. You can splurge on gluten or just have a half slice a bread a day but you have to keep eating it for the testing. 12 weeks for the blood test. 2 weeks for the endoscope where they will check your intestines for damage and take biopsies. Make sure you get the FULL celiac panel. ...
  25. Contaminated mushrooms.....they often grow them from rye or barley seeds that they put the spores on or grow in a compost that con contain wheat...in my case the company says they used rye seeds for the starter. (called after the fact) I assumed the sliced prewashed ones would be safe and they were on sale....go figure. Anyway Might try my tips for using...
