  1. Thanks Angie, I have been rather sporadic at best and will be for awhile. I have to find a new place to live in this expensive city. I was working on some stories, books, other business things and other work related issues alone with psycho and creepy landlords.

  2. Ursula, I am sorry your family is filled with donut heads. Just because other people don't care about stomach or colon cancer. Just tell your kids etc., that if so and so's mother wishes to comit a slow painful suicide that is their perogative but you are not planning on it and you don't appreciate their attempts to murder you also. It is too bad you can't charge them with attempted murder.

They are being plainly ignorant about everything. I guess the thing that drove it home for my family and friends is that I told my mother that a little wasp bite wouldn't hurt her or me considering we would both die in less than ten minutes My friends and my sister-in-law I said that, if they went without insulin it would not be so bad. They got the idea pretty quick.

I wonder if a lot of their poo pooing is because of their father. The woman who still makes gluten filled food for her family, in which probably many of her family could be Celiac. She might as well bury her face in a bag of flour.

  3. When I first went Gluten-free I lost weight then, because of the high caloric values in much of our foods I gained weight not what I need. Now I have been reading the benefits of raw foods and yes this includes foods in a food dehydrator at a certain temperature. I am going to give this a shot. I am going to have my first "raw" class on Sunday, it is Mexican.

I was wondering if anyone here does raw food or plans to. I guess some do sprout their own wheat grains to do this but the woman I am taking it from only uses seeds and nuts. There are supposed to be other great benefits from going raw. She told me she has killed off most of her asthma going raw. She also believes she was Celiac and what she told me I believe she is also. She said since going raw she has no longer had the affects that many of us did before going Gluten-free. She only has a problem if she has things that are made with wheat.

I will inform everyone when I get home on Sunday. I could probably even post the recipes.

  4. Arthritis is often hereditary. My son has had it since he was 18 and I have had it since my 20'a. Yes, you should have a bone density test done. If it shows nothing now then by all means make sure you have one done when you are older. I never had one done till a few months ago and there it is in my back and badly. Which means I who used ot be 5'4" is now 5'2.5", this is not good in another 20 years I will be 3 feet tall (hopefully not). Just for the record all my siblings also have arthritis and have since early ages. I knew when I was 30 that it was also in my back.

  5. I lost more than 10 teeth in less than 5 years because of this disease and not finding out about it until 10 months ago. What teeth are left are still having problem. Probably because of the late discovery. Well I figured I had but the doctors were too dense to listen to me. I had a friend who lost every tooth in her head due to this disease.

  7. A crumb for me, even a minute one which is hardly visable causes me a great deal of grief. I break out immediately iin DH and I am sick for a week. Take a person with a nut

allergy a kiss can kill some. So, this is the same, a kiss can make me sick for a week or more.

If it makes it easier to explain to your husband, tell him it is like a severe allergy, like a nut or seafood one. It is every bit as dangerous except with us it can be a slow painful death of cancers and lack of nutrition.

  8. Well, I have next year for the article, I guess. I lost a lot because of their overly waxed floors.

I cannot believe your friend thought they would have anything gluten-free for the breakfasts at the grounds. It is hard enough to find gluten-free in stores and restaurants.

I still hurt and my doctor says it will be awhile but I have to go back to work Thursday and that is 50 stairs to climb, it will be a tough day.

  9. It still is, not only that but I have lost approximately $2000. in wages, another $2000. for an article I was to supply to a magazine on what Celiac's have to eat at the Stampede grounds (which is probably still nothing) and that was with pictures and I had a death in the family also. If I had only missed one day of work Zellers would have not been bothered again by me. But their floor was so slippery and very shiny.

  10. Planet Organic just opend on Shaganappi Trail North of Market Mall next to A Sewing Sensation. Amaranth foods is on John Laurie BlVD and Arbour Lake DR. Community Natural foods is on 10th Ave and 14 ST. SW and by the Chinook Lrt Station, Terracotto is in the Currie Barracks farmers market they are open Friday to Sunday.

Hope it all helps. Oh an there is Earth's Oven who makes great bread and killer brownies. There is a woman by Crossfield whose husband and son are Celiac and she makes killer truffles and cookies. If anyone wants I can get her email and phone number.
